Country music star Jimmie Allen reveals his love for Christian music and how one of Maverick City’s worship songs saved his life.
Jimmie Allen Opens Up Christian Faith
In an interview with Christian Headlines, Jimmie Allen opened up about his Christian roots. He also shared the importance his faith played in his life.
The singer is popularly known for his talent in the Country Music genre. In fact, just a year ago, he won two awards. At the 2021 Country Music Awards, he won the “New Artist of the Year.” And at the Academy of Country Music Awards, he won “New Male Artist of the Year.”
One of Jimmie’s hit songs was “Pray, Best Shot, Freedom was a Highway, and Deserve to Be.” He was also able to perform with other well-known music artists like “Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and Little Big Town.”
Love For Christian Music
Now, Jimmie revealed to Christian Headlines that although he is passionate about country music, he also loves Christian music. He shared that he grew up in a Christian home, and his faith is still important to him till today.
“I grew up Christian and still am,” the country music star said. “But I’ve always wanted to do Country music. But I’m a huge Christian music fan, and I’ve always wanted to do songs with Christian artists. I’ve actually been to the K-Love Awards before as a fan.”
Further, Jimmie discussed how God encouraged him through one of Maverick City’s worship songs. Because at that moment, he admitted the singer was in a pretty rough situation.
“About a year ago, I was in a rough place,” he told Christian Headline. “And Maverick City Music’s music saved my life – literally.”
Soon after, Jimmie recounted that he met the worship group’s worship leader Chandler Moore and testified about it.
“Every genre is important,” he added. “But for, personally, there’s something special about Christian music that grounds me and takes me back to my roots. And kind of re-focuses me on where I need to be and what I need to do.”
Then Jimmie expressed his gratefulness to God for how He sustained him during the waiting season of his career. Apparently, the country music star waited for ten and a half years before he managed to get a record deal in Nashville. But all those years, he allowed God to fight the battle. Then he said, “Because a lot of times, we want to step in there and help Him and the only thing we’re doing is getting in His way.”
