Christian rapper KB believes that mainstream music and hip-hop are only teaching kids to “hate Jesus.” As a result, he implores fellow believers to embrace Christian hip-hop to reach out to others.
Christian Rapper KB
In his interview with Christian Headlines, KB expressed his concern for music and its impact on people, especially the youth. He emphasized that mainstream music only teaches them to hate Jesus. So, he wanted fellow Christians to put aside their reservations about Christian hip-hop music and start supporting Christian rappers. He is specifically trying to present the Gospel in a creative way.
“Let’s return to that era of seeing Christian hip-hop as a powerful way that we might bring revival,” he told Christian Headlines. “Think about what we can rejoice over — that the Gospel is being preached, churches are being strengthened, and people are coming to Christ.”
There are still traditional Christians who are hesitant about the faith-based hip-hop genre.
“The alternative is what your children are going to listen to — they are listening to,” KB said. “And the alternative is teaching them to hate Jesus. That’s a little hyperbolic. But there’s truth to it.”
Jesus As The Unifier
He urges that Christians should look past their cultural differences and focus on Jesus and the Gospel as the unified path. “Can we please, by God’s grace, remember that the gospel of Jesus Christ transcends our disagreements,” he said.
“That the gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to bring us to the table and find a unified path forward, that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is transcendental?”
KB added, “Set your traditions aside, set your fears aside, and where people are rapping about the gospel, support that. And that’s what I want to do. I want to support that kind of work, and I’ve been grateful for those who have supported me and my work.”
