Adorable little girl, Adeline Iris, sang ‘Stand Still, Let God Move’ in a way that will melt your heart.
‘Stand Still, Let God Move’
Originally sung by the Issacs and written by Bill Gaither, this song is about trusting God even when everything around you is falling apart. It talks about surrendering to God’s sovereignty despite being challenged by many difficult circumstances.
The first verse goes:
“The Father has a plan. Though it’s hard to see it now
You feel you’re walking all alone. But He is there no doubt.
When the storm around you rages, And you’re tossed to and fro
When you’re faced with life’s decisions, not sure which way to go”
It reminds us that God will never run out of ways to help us. Though we’ve exhausted every action step and solution we can think of and see that nothing has changed, we can lean in to God and ask for help.
Sometimes, the best we can do is be still, and know that He is God.

It is humbling to see a young kid reminding us to:
“Stand still and let God move
Standing still is hard to do
When you feel you have reached the end, He’ll make a way for you
Stand still and let God move
“When the enemy surrounds you and the walls are closing in
When the tide is swiftly rising, and you wonder where He’s been
Friend, there never was a moment that His arms weren’t reaching out
You can rest assured and be secure, God is moving right now”
It is a timely message considering the news we’ve been hearing lately. Division. Violence. Crisis. War. Loss of a loved one. We’ve all been through a lot.
But like how this little girl sings, ‘Stand Still, Let God Move,’ let’s sing our way through the pain and sufferings as an act of worship to God.
“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland” (Isaiah 43:19, NLT).
