I Am Potential – “I Am Potential” is based on the inspiring true story of Patrick Henry Hughes. Patrick Henry was born without eyes and his joints didn’t form properly, keeping him from ever walking. This is the story of how a father learned to sacrifice all of his own dreams and plans for the sake of his son. At his home in Louisville, Kentucky, Patrick Henry continued to face opposition. While his father worked to provide for the expensive procedures, Patrick Henry dreamed of one day becoming a member of a real marching band. Patrick Henry had to fight all the odds to become an accomplished pianist, trumpet player and singer. The Hughes family’s story reminds us all to look at the things we have rather than the things we don’t, as we all try to reach our God-given potential.. – Sunday 12th & Wednesday 29th
Comfort and Joy – A Highlands Christmas Experience – Christmas Eve – 9pm
A wonderful carol service from Church of the Highlands, in Birmingham, AL. Pastor Chris Hodges shares the story of Jesus’ birth and focuses on the portion of Scripture found in Luke 2:7, where Mary comforted the baby by wrapping Him in swaddling cloths. Throughout His life, Jesus experienced every aspect of humanity in order to identify with our emotions and needs. Jesus’ first human experience was being comforted, and He is now able to comfort us through anything we face in our lives. At the end of His life on earth, Jesus promised another Comforter would always be with us: the Holy Spirit. After the difficult year we have faced, we all need the peace, wisdom, and power available to us through the Person of the Holy Spirit. This Christmas, let’s make a fresh commitment to go “all in,” get to know the Holy Spirit, and experience the comfort and joy that only He can provide. Features carols from Highlands Worship.
