Pastor and International House of Prayer founder Mike Bickle said, “May 2023 will be one of the most significant times in church history.”
21-Day Fast Over 30 Years Ago
In a recent Instagram post by Mike Bickle, he shared the history of IHOP. It began with a prophetic word he received from Bob Jones many years ago. And now IHOP is in its 23rd year of hosting a 24-7 intercessory prayer movement.
Bickle revealed that God gave him a prophetic promise 30 years ago, “I will establish 24-hour prayer in the spirit of the tabernacle of David.” Then on May 7, 1983, he initiated a 21-day fast (May 7-28) in “a church in Kansas City.” The fast gave birth to the founding of the International House of Prayer in May 1999.
Significant Time In Church History
Today, IHOP is hosting a 21-day fast again, along with millions worldwide. But this time, it’s for the nation of Israel.
“It’s called the Isaiah 62 fast,” Mike wrote.
According to the founder, “100 million people” are expected to join the united prayer around the world. Everyone would intercede for the “Jewish people to turn to Yeshua as their Savior.” Since May 28 this year is a Pentecost Sunday, the International Prayer Council has agreed to “do a global day of prayer for the Jewish people.”
At the end of the post, he noted that perhaps many people are wondering about such a global prayer initiative. So, he added, “What is happening? Why is God orchestrating this? What is the Lord speaking us during this season? Why 24-7 prayer? Why Israel? What’s coming?”
Then he remarked, “Even if you don’t fully understand it, be sure to press into what God’s doing at this time through prayer and fasting. He will speak and lead us into His heart!”
We still don’t know exactly what God wants to do, but one thing is for sure, He’s up to something big. Yes, Lord, do it and glorify Your Name!
