An extreme act of kindness was shown by a loyal customer when he left a $2500 tip for restaurant employees before the shop closed up because of COVID-19.
Global crisis
The effect of the current global crisis on the COVID-19 pandemic is clearly evident. People from different countries feel the same panic. The streets and cities are empty. And hospitals are receiving patients daily.
Businesses are closing down for the safety of their employees and the safety of the general public. But despite the negative effects of the pandemic, there is still a light that can be seen. In every country, there are people helping each other get through this ordeal. Just the same as this anonymous customer brought joy to restaurant staffers that are getting ready to close up their shop.
Coaches Bar and Grill
The Coaches Bar and Grill Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio was preparing to halt their business service Sunday due to the COVID-19. To help contain the virus, Ohio governor Mike DeWine ordered every restaurant to limit its services to only delivery and carryout option.
Benny Leonard, the owner of Coaches Bar and Grill, said that the situation will affect their business greatly. However, a kind gesture from one of their regular customer brought joy to Benny and his employees.
$2500 Tip
A regular customer in the restaurant left a $2,500 tip on top of a bill was only $29.75. The customer, who wanted to be anonymous, left a note saying that the tip is to be divided for the five staff of the restaurant.
“(There were) tears, tears of joy,” Benny said in an interview. “An unbelievable act of kindness on a pretty weird day.”
A photo of the note was uploaded by Coaches to their Twitter account with the caption: “When the going gets tough, the tough stay loyal. This loyal, amazing patron of Coaches on Bethel left the staff a $2500 tip to help lighten the losses during this required closing of Restaurants & Bars in Ohio.”

They also reminded everyone to treat each other nicer even if after this ordeal ends.
“All credit goes to the anonymous donor, my amazing customers, and my Coaches work for a family. Let’s all treat each other a little nicer…even when this crazy time passes. Be safe,” Coaches twitted.
