Colton Dixon’s song “Build A Boat” landed at number one on the Billboard Christian radio chart. The Christian singer never expected it and remarked, “God has just used this song.”

According to a report by Christian Headlines, Colton Dixon’s “Build A Boat” topped the Billboard Christian radio charts. It ranked first in the charts for ten weeks and “more than 45 weeks on the Hot Christian Songs chart.”

In an interview with Christian Headlines, the Christian singer-songwriter shared his heart about his song “Build A Boat,” topping the charts. He never expected it to happen since he simply “personally enjoyed” his music.

Trusting God In A Dry Season

The song’s lyrics spoke to many as it talked about trusting God and walking in faith even in a dry season. The song encourages listeners to surrender to God even when the situation seems uncontrollable and hopeless.

As the chorus of the song declares:

“I will build a boat in the sand where they say it never rains
I will stand up in faith, I’ll do anything it takes
With Your wind in my sails, Your love never fails or fades
I’ll build a boat in the desert place
And when the flood and the water starts to rise, yeah
I’ll ride the storm ’cause I got You by my side

The Song Speaking To People

Further, Colton shared how it gives him joy whenever he sees people connecting to the song when it’s played on his tour.

“When that song comes to our setlist, it’s like we have a front-row seat into what God has been doing and is doing in their lives,” he told Christian Headlines. “And it is just remarkable. A lot of people coming out to the shows, this song was their anthem in a dry season. It might still be. And it’s just so fun to sing with them, to believe with them during these shows. But to me, that’s the coolest part about what I do is seeing how God somehow uses me — a non-qualified person and uses a song to reach people. It’s amazing.”

As GOD TV previously reported, “Build A Boat” is a song birthed from his obedience to God and inspired by the story of Noah in the Bible.

Colton Dixon Testifies What The Lord Did When He Almost Lost His Daughter

Christian singer Colton Dixon testifies about the real-life miracle that he has experienced two years ago when he almost lost his daughter in the delivery room.

Colton has made a name in the music industry after ranking in the top 10 on the 11th season of “American Idol.” Since then, he has released several albums, hit the top in the charts, and won two GMA Dove Awards. His success as a Christian artist over the past decade is truly remarkable.

The 30-year-old artist is a devout Christian. He also served as a worship leader in several services including at Saddleback Church. In a recent interview, Colton opened up about the real-life miracle he experienced when his twin daughters were born in 2020.

His wife, Annie, carried their twin daughters, Ava Dior and Athens Elizabeth, with no problem for 38 weeks. She gave birth to the twins via C-section on August 16, 2020. However, Ava Dior was born without a pulse.

Testimony

The delivery room was in chaos during that time as medical staff did all they could do to save the little girl’s life. Amid the panic, Dixon and Annie held on to their faith, they prayed to God at that moment.

“God, we’re believing that You’re going to step in and Your plan for her life is going to come to fruition, not the enemy’s plan over her life, which is to steal, kill, and destroy,” they prayed.

God heard their prayer and saved the life of Ava Dior. Two years since that petrifying moment, the little girl is now a happy and healthy toddler.

“We were full-on preachers in that operating room. … We were praying into it, and whether He reached down directly or worked through the doctors and nurses, but she’s good.”

Colton Dixon Says He Was Led By The Spirit Of God With New Album

Colton Dixon recently released a new album called “Build A Boat.” The American Idol finalist shared that the music was birthed from his obedience to God as the Holy Spirit led him.

In an interview with CBN News, Colton tells all. He revealed that the story of Noah inspired the new single. “The Bible says that Noah was obedient, period.” He added, “I want to be known as someone that has crazy faith like Noah. Who is willing to just put all this other stuff aside and follow the will of God for my life. I also think that there’s a reward waiting on the other side of that.”

Colton shared that he wrote the song to declare his total obedience to God. “Even if I am in a drought season, I’m going to step out and have faith now. I know something is on the way.”

Build A Boat

Moreover, the Christian singer confessed that he had his “Noah moments,” too, where God challenged him to do something the world deemed crazy. “One of those seasons for me is I actually got dropped from one of my record labels a few years back and it was kinda out of the blue for me,” he said. But, he still trusted God and believed He had a mighty plan ahead.

In that “dry”season, Colton got closer to God. “I felt my relationship [with God] grew stronger because He was it. He was the source of income. He was the source of Joy.”

Colton continued, “He was the source of all these things because nothing else really was.”

He let the Holy Spirit lead him and continued making music. “God, I’ll let you handle all the details, and He did.”

Christian singer Michael Colton Dixon testified about the miracle he and his family experienced after one of his twin daughters was born without a pulse.

Colton Dixon is an award-winning Christian singer who got his break when he became a finalist in the “American Idol” season 11. He is a devout Christian and is a part of the Christian rock band Messenger. In 2013, he released his debut Christian album titled “A Messenger.”

Recently, he and his wife Annie opened to the public their encounter after their twin daughter was born. On August 18, the couple’s twin daughters Athens Elizabeth and Ava Dior were brought into this world. However, Ava Dior was born without a pulse.

“We never expected our little Ava Dior would arrive in the world without a pulse. At that moment, we had a choice: faith or fear,” Dixon said in an interview. “We watched and prayed as the doctors and nurses resuscitated our daughter back to life.”

Twin Daughters

A miracle then unfolded in front of their eyes as Ava Dior’s pulse began beating. The little sweet girl was then brought into the NICU where she spent several days before she went home for the first time. She is now a healthy baby according to the couple.

“After several days in the NICU, Dior was able to join us at home, happy and healthy. That was a great day,” he added. “Life doesn’t always happen the way we want it to, but we believe that life is more about the way we respond to things than what happens to us. We thank God and our amazing doctors and nurses for our two little miracles.”

Faith

Instead of fear, the couple placed their trust in the Lord and held tighter to their faith. The 28-year-old artist then encouraged everyone who is also fighting their own battle.

“God says ‘I have given you the keys to the kingdom. Whatever you bind on earth will bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven,’” he said. “Sometimes we have to fight. Our words are a weapon. Our praise is a weapon. God declared us victorious as His sons and daughters, but according to His word, we have to agree with Him.”

The Christian singer Colton Dixon spilled the inspiration behind his new single “Miracles” during the 28th annual Movieguide Awards in an interview with The Christian Post.

“Miracles” is Colton’s first single in nearly three years. Michael Jade and the late Busbee wrote the new track with him. Also, it’s Colton’s Atlantic Record’s debut. It was released on Jan. 24.

The “American Idol” alum attended the Movieguide Awards as a performer. And there, during his walk on the red carpet, he shared about his new album. He revealed that the album’s content centers around faith and family.

Real Miracles According To Colton Dixon

Colton told CP last month, “I think we think of miracles as these huge life altering events, right? Whereas I think that’s true, I think sometimes we forget to look at the little things in life as miracles.”

“The fact that we woke up today is a huge miracle in and of itself,” he said. “So it’s about stepping back, taking the opportunity to see the forest through the trees, and go, ‘God, you were in my life and orchestrating all these things all along the way and I’m just now realizing it, but thank you so much.’”

Stepping Away From Devices To Spend Time With God

Colton also believes that this generation needs to take time away from devices and spend more time being still and reflective.

“I’m not perfect at it, but we’ve realized that the phone can be a great thing but man, it can be a negative too,” the 28-year-old said.

He then added, “It says in God’s word that He leads me beside the still waters. I think we picture that and are like, ‘Oh, that’s so beautiful that’s so serene,’ but they’re still and it’s peaceful. Do we take the time to get away from everything?”

The musician pointed out that spending time with God will open our minds to the everyday miracles. He said it doesn’t have to be complicated.

“It doesn’t have to be this crazy retreat or whatever, it can be getting away in your bedroom, turning your phone off and just taking a moment to breathe. I think that’s so important,” Colton explained. “I think God wants to speak to us, but He’s a gentleman so He doesn’t raise His voice over all the other things that are going on in our lives.”

Colton then concluded, “I just think it’s really important just to chill out for a second, to take a step back and raise your head above the water.”

The Christian music artist, Colton Dixon, sang a Christmas worship song during the 97th National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Colton was a finalist of the 11th Season of American Idol. He was a remarkable contender during that season because his elimination surprised everyone. Even American Idol judge Steven Tyler was beyond shocked of the results. Because he never had been in the bottom three. However, even if that was the case, it was Colton’s first big break in the entertainment industry.

Today, Colton is happily married to his wife Annie Coggeshall. He is still as devoted as he is before, to the LORD. And now we see him on national television singing “O Come, All Ye Faithful” during the 97th National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 5.

The momentous event was held at the Ellipse in President’s Park in front of the White House in Washington, D.C. According to CBS News, the Christmas tree that was built has 450 giant white star ornaments and 50,000 lights. President Trump gave his Christmas season speech before Colton Dixon was introduced to sing the worship song for the King “O Come, All Ye Faithful”.

As Colton enters the stage, people cheered him on. With the National Christmas Tree behind him, he then plays the piano and starts to sing the first lyrics, “O come, all ye faithful. Joyful and triumphant. O come ye, o come ye to Bethlehem. Come and behold Him. Born the King of Angels!”

Colton got his first break on the 11th season of the American Idol. He was able to release two studio albums that topped the Christian music charts! He also waited until marriage to have physical intimacy with his wife, Annie.

It was only during their honeymoon that they got to share a bed together.

“It was kind of strange: we checked into the room and realized, ‘We actually get to go to sleep side by side! This is so cool!’ Anywhere we’ve traveled before, we’ve always gotten two hotel rooms. We wanted to remain pure in that area.” Colton said in an interview.

They both decided to remain pure until their marriage because they believe that sex is designed for marriage.

“It was not easy!” Dixon said. “But I believe sex was designed for marriage, and I knew it would be more meaningful to wait. That was something I grew up thinking and feeling, and I believe the Bible backs it up as well.” Annie added, “It wasn’t because someone was telling me this is what you should do. Deep down in my heart, it felt like it was the right thing. And we’re really glad we did. We know God’s hand is on our marriage.”

The New York quarterback who is a devout Christian revealed in an interview in 2009 that he is still a virgin and is saving himself until marriage.

“It’s about finding a girl who likes me for me, and not because of what I do, or who I am, or the name,” Tim told Vogue.

Tim Tebow and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters got engaged recently, in January 2019, and they are now planning for their wedding. Finally, the long wait for the couple to have their first intimate moment will come to an end with God’s grace.

“I can’t wait, but I think it’s something that I’ll have to trust God for,” he said. “He’ll bring someone along at the right time. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want it, though!”
