God’s hope in the midst of our vulnerability.
“The LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore He will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!” -Isaiah 30:18
Hope
Corin Pilling, UK Director of Sanctuary Mental Health, shares a word of encouragement amidst this time of uncertainty. With the pandemic and all the things that are happening right now, we are all being vulnerable. Vulnerable to the uncertain future and vulnerable to our fears and anxious thoughts.
“The business of hoping brings uncertainty at times doesn’t it? We might be thinking well, can we hope that thing will become better? The reality of course is that at advent, we get a chance to think about vulnerability in a very different way. And that’s the vulnerability that God showed us, God coming as a baby and putting Himself in the care of humans,” Corin said.
Vulnerable
Jesus Christ showed us that being vulnerable is not a problem. The all-powerful God became vulnerable Himself to encourage us that there’s hope.
“That’s a great encouragement, that we worship the God who isn’t only powerful but is also the One that is being deeply vulnerable.”
There is hope in Jesus Christ if we just learn to wait and trust in Him.
“As we think forward and consider where do we place our hope this time, then as we trust in the One who was vulnerable and became vulnerable but yet also we know is all-powerful, I think that gives us a really great place to wait and trust.”
