Do you regularly take time to bless your spouse’s spirit? Praying for your spouse is more than a Christian duty to ensure you accomplish. Rather, it is a vital way to cover their spirit with the blessing, favor, and the joy of the Lord. God trusts us with so much–even the very hearts of His beloved children, our husbands or wives. We can take our relationship and marriage to the next level by intentionally partnering with God in prayer for them. Whether it’s prayers for favor at work, peace in their day, or deep joy in their hearts, our requests on their behalf are a vital part of a healthy marriage.
Praying for your spouse brings blessing
The Word of God tells us that making our requests known to God. This includes those for the person we treasure most in our life–our spouses! As you pray for them, know that you are inviting the activity and blessing of God over your entire marriage. You are one flesh; humbly and powerfully praying for your spouse inevitably blesses you too.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you…how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:7, Matthew 7:11)
