Creator Of The Universe

When God created the universe, what did He use as material? Before the beginning, there was only God’s Spirit. There was no thing, nothing. There was only God. What did He use to create everything that presently is? We know or believe from a study of physics that energy and matter can be interchanged, but they can’t be destroyed. So if at one moment there was no thing, and at the next moment there was something where did that thing come from? What created the substance? We can infer that it was energy, and that energy was God.

You have been created in Him, through Him and for Him. And all things are held together by Him. The same energy that brought forth matter at the beginning, is the energy that continues to give life and to give substance to everything around you, including yourself. You are His workmanship created in Christ for good works that He created for you to walk in.

When the stars and the galaxies and the planets were brought forth, you were there also as a God thought. He has created you out of Himself to do things in Him that tell the story of His greatness. You’re not an afterthought. You’re not an orphan. You’re not a misplaced person. And you’re certainly not a mistake. You have a meaning and a purpose, and that the purpose is in the ongoing unfolding of God’s goodness. You’re designed to know God, to experience His love and to share it with others as He has shared Himself with you.

So when you look at the marvelous creation, know that it’s God who created it to give you life and purpose and pleasure in knowing Him. He is not only Spirit. He is not only energy. He is Love. My desire for you is what Paul expressed in Colossians: “My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, that they may have the full riches of complete understanding in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ.”  So I pray this over you, that you may know Him in a deeper measure, in Jesus’ Name.

From The Beginning To The Christmas Story

The beginning of time. The creation of man. It’s a story that has been recounted many times with flair of creativity that would pinch the interest of even the seasoned skeptics. After all, this is a story that was written before the structure of a story was conceptualized. In fact, this has been the blueprint for every story written after. So let’s take a moment to walk through the story of the first man with perhaps a renewed excitement and wonder that it rightfully deserves.

In The Beginning

The opening chapter of Genesis is packed with a flurry of activities. We see the grandmaster (God) caught up in an artistic bout filling the earth with diversely rich entities and bringing to life every living creature. We are then introduced to the first character of the story, the man. God puts His personal touch on him by making the man in His own image. An honor, that was reserved only for humans. The second character, the first woman arrives in quite a dramatic manner. They are bestowed with a totally unearned gift to rule over all creation with just one restraint, to stay away from the fruits of one pretty common looking tree. One would think with so many options to eat from this would be a simple enough instruction to follow. But no they are enticed into disobeying God by doing just that.

From The Fall To Wonder And Reverence

Misled and duped by a snake (of all things!) they feast on the forbidden fruit. What follows is a series of events filled with heartbreak and failure that leaves us in a dire need of a Saviour. An all-powerful Saviour who would deliver us from the bondage of sin and establish God’s plan. The arrival of Christ marked the end of the hopeless cycle of failure, disobedience, and pain that humanity was caught up in. Now we have a clear chance of living a life that God had intended for us all along through Christ. So this Christmas season, let’s not lose the wonder and reverence for this baby in the barn.

The Beginning: Rejoice

But how do you find the strength to train your mind to focus when it is cluttered with worries, pain, disappointments, and negative thoughts? Perhaps you find yourself jobless or under a lot of pressure at work this time of year. The stress is real. But it is possible to rejoice in the Lord right where you are. It is possible to adore and be in awe of Him in the middle of all the life mess. All it takes is to meditate on His Word. And grasp the gravity of what God dared to do for us. Send His only Son for our redemption even while we were sinners. This is sheer madness! Let this Christmas season fire a holy intrigue and hunger in your spirit that would push you to search this beautiful Christ for yourself.

The Power of Blessing

The word blessing, to bless is found over 400 times in the Bible and means to to kneel, to praise, to bow down in respect.  In Genesis 1 God blessed what he had created, in v 22 he blessed the fish and the birds and in v 28 he blessed mankind (Adam and Eve). In Genesis 12: 2-3 God blessed Abraham to thrive and become a great nation.  A blessing releases favour and honour, empowering something or someone to succeed, so when God blesses it is powerful.

God provides us with a wonderful role model in Genesis of blessing creation.  His purpose for blessing his creation was to release his favour,  for multiplication, thriving and general well-being.  There are many examples of Jesus releasing blessing notably the 5000 who needed feeding – he blessed the 5 loaves and 2 fishes and they multiplied to feed everyone with more to spare.  Why bless the environment?  We see around the world creation struggling, flooding, wild fires, warming etc. due to  the world not having been cared for which was the mandate God gave Adam and Eve (Genesis 1:28).  In Romans 8:19; NIV ‘For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. . .

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.’ I think we can say ‘creation is groaning’, it’s waiting for us as children of God to arise and take up the mandate given to Adam and Eve. Let’s join together and play our part by blessing the environment and the planet to see restoration.

Creational Blessing

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” – Genesis 1:1

Imagine: Ask Holy Spirit to show you in your imagination God creating the heaven and
the earth. Pray your own prayer out of this.

Blessing: I/we bless the heavens and the earth to flourish as God intended them to.

Declaration: I/We declare that the earth and the heavens are a manifestation of the glory
of God and his created order.

Walking And Ministering In The Spirit

Creation

We were created in the image of God. This means we have the potential to choose to live like God. Jesus revealed this as He came in the form of man and lived like God on the earth. Because of Him, it possible for us to experience redemption from the power of sin, becoming like Him. This great miracle happens when we are born again of the Spirit. He lives in us by His Spirit and helps us become like Him. Our spirit receives redemption and we are transformed in our soul, like Him. This is a lifelong process and few continue walking in it. Many lose their first love and go back to living in the flesh. This is why many are sick and fail to live the promised abundant life.

Spirit Walking

Firstly, God did it all for us. We need to tap into His promises of love and live in them. Secondly, this requires a radical change from a walk according to the flesh to a walk according to the Spirit. Many people, stuck in the letter of the word do not know the life in the word. God’s word changes lives, heals, and restores. As a result, all these benefits accessed through His Spirit in us. However, the church failed to teach these truths and therefore the people remain sick and poor. The only way out of this dilemma is to walk in the Spirit.

Spirit-Led

In conclusion, to walk in the Spirit is to be centered in our spirit and not in our flesh. We walk according to the demands of our flesh or according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. When we live in the Spirit we transcend the demands of the flesh. God made a way for us to overcome all the challenges of the flesh. We choose who we will follow.

In addition, when we choose to follow the Holy Spirit, He guides us to the abundant life promised. The devil cannot harass us in His presence. We operate in a different realm, the realm of the Spirit. Every bondage loosened and freedom sets us free. We walk like Jesus on earth as we set our hearts on Him. Today choose to walk by the Holy Spirit and live.

The Artist’s Palette

Ultimate Artist

The ultimate Artist is God. All of creation gives proof: nature, the animal kingdom, stars, planets, and the wonderful miracle of the human body. It all comes from within the heart of God. Not learned. On the other hand, we humans are “junior artists.” Every person, Christian or not, was made in the image of God. Thus we all create from being “sourced in God.” There is an artist’s palette within every person, each having what it takes to contribute in a creative way.

Artist’s Palette

A beautiful wedding is fairly easy to create, especially when a wedding planner is on board. A beautiful marriage, however, one that will radiate for decades, requires ongoing artistic expression. The artist’s palette does not come prepackaged nor does it run on autopilot. The principle is one of “development and release.” My personal and spiritual growth is the palette from which I add color and beauty to my marriage.

Beautiful God

“The Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious…Your eyes will see the King in His beauty.” (Isa. 4:2 33:17) It’s actually rare to hear the teaching in your average church on the personality of God, which transcends mere cognitive reflection. True, we must begin there, but then we must become “miners” that go deep into the mountain to extract the gold. Viewing God as beautiful is an essential attribute of knowing Him.  Over nearly forty years of marriage, I’ve found this to be true: The more beautiful God looks to me, the more beautiful my spouse looks to me. 

Beholding Beauty

Personally, I don’t often visit an art gallery because the vast majority of what’s on display, doesn’t interest me. Thankfully, Anne and I have similar tastes in art. On our honeymoon, we stayed in a quaint little city called Niagara on the Lake, in Canada. A local artist, Trisha Romance, had an art gallery there. From her artist’s palette, she creates warm and inviting paintings focused on home and family. The perception of beauty is subjective. What one person finds beautiful, another may not. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as the saying goes.

God as Beholder

“I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret, And intricately and skillfully formed [as if embroidered with many colors] in the depths of the earth.” (Ps. 139:14-15 AMP, emphasis mine)
“Every single moment you are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that you cherish me constantly in your every thought!” (Ps. 139:17 TPT)

 

God is the “Beholder”, and He sees you and me as beautiful and wonderful.

The collision of Shame and Beauty

Our common arch-enemy is “shame” – who I am is unworthy of belonging. I am flawed. If others really knew who I was deep inside they would surmise that I have a deficiency. I wrote those words a few years ago and the villain lurks still today. The Father of Lies has been outed, exposed as the dark brains behind the operation, of every assault on your value as a person. He seeks to block the Beholder’s words from your soul, inserting instead the story-line of wounding as the only reality you deserve. Truth is, we are God’s beloved sons and daughters. That will never change.

God Colors

If personal and spiritual growth supply my palette, and if I could assign character traits like colors, these would be my primary ones. “The fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Gal. 5:22-23)

This is the relational artwork that God desires to put on display in every marriage gallery.

You Were A God Thought Before You Were Created

God Thought

Everything created begins with a thought. God thought of you before you were created. This thought alone must make you feel so precious and worthy. You are not just a complex of cells – you are a creation of God. You were made in His image for a purpose. God knew you even before you were created in your mother’s womb. God decided a plan that only you can fulfill. Now it is up to us to fulfill it. How is it then that most fail to know this? Many are born with gifts but use them to glorify self rather than God. This is why Jesus came to show us the way.

The Fall

From the beginning God had planned for man to glorify Him. His creation, however, went astray and desired to be like God rather than glorify Him. The created turned to itself and lost the original intent. We were created by God for God. We now live for self. This is what sin does. It turns everything that was made for good to serve evil. So we see the results in the world we live in. Every kind of evil is the result as described in Romans 1. Without God we become like animals.

The Solution

We need to come to the place where we find ourselves in God. The only way to find ourselves in Him is to repent and turn to Him. Jesus came to help us do just this by dying for us. He reversed the curse and brought us into the light. We were once in darkness but now we are in the light as He is in the light. In Him there is no darkness. Now we must walk in the light as He is in the light and thus have fellowship with Him. We can fulfill His will and purpose for our life. Now we can speak forth His word and create life. We were once under a curse, but now we are under a blessing as God intended.

How To Hear God’s Voice In Creation

There’s always been something about the outdoors that has always drawn me in. The first thing God created was the universe that we know as space and then the earth. I believe it was always His intention for us to spend every second of everyday in His creation. I mean He did create a garden for Adam and Eve.

Look at this – an entire planet created by one man. God painted the skies blue, yellow, orange, pink. He spills in the waters and raises the land up. God breathes life into the animals and into mankind. If He created this whole planet for a purpose, to sustain life, He created each one of us for a purpose too. Some of us may have a little trouble finding that purpose but with prayer, it is possible as long as you listen.

He created all of this out of love. It’s because of His love for this planet and for us that we are here. It is because of that love that Jesus came and died for our sins. Not a thing on this planet can change that love.

That’s why I love the outdoors. I go on a hike and listen to the birds sing and the trees sway as the wind blows, the waters flow down stream and the animals scurry. There’s no other place I hear God more or feel God more than in His creation. Love, mercy, hope. That’s what I feel.

You can feel the same. Spend a few hours on a trail or park bench. Go somewhere with no distractions. You’ll be amazed at what you hear.

Creators Create

God is our creator and He created us in His image and in His likeness. We are His handiwork and His workmanship.  We are His creation therefore we are creators.

We are in an accelerated season of CREATION CREATING.  We must get clear instructions about our purpose and destiny and begin creating.  The atmosphere is ripe for our creations to manifest.  Your creative mind may have been moving at an exponential speed lately, so fast that you hardly have time to write down what Holy Spirit reveals to you. Take the time!

Create now

Do not delay any longer – write the vision, write the invention, write the plan, write the idea down.  In the same manner as you write you are creating.  Creating the vision, creating the invention, creating the plan, creating the idea and now you can read it and run with it.

“Then the Lord replied: ‘Write down the message I am giving you. Write it clearly on the tablets you use. Then a messenger can read it and run to announce it.'”  (Habakkuk 2:2)

 

NOW is the time to create and release what the Lord has given you.  We are creators and therefore we create. Rise up sons and daughters of God and create.

Prayer

Father, I thank you for creating me in your image and in your likeness.  I rise up and take my rightful position in the Kingdom and begin to create as you have purposed in me.  For I am your workmanship and I am created unto good works in Christ Jesus as you have ordained before the foundations of the world in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10 )

A UK Local Council Approves Controversial New Guidelines For Sex Education

New Guidelines Criticized

We have watched in recent weeks how Christianity and Christmas has been attacked in the USA with teachers banning various items such as candy sticks, singing about Jesus and telling kids that Santa isn’t real.  Now in the UK a new form of banning what is considered factual, normal and traditional has taken a dangerous turn. According to all leading media outlets including the Daily Mail, school children as young as 8-years-old in the Brighton and Hove area, will now learn: “All genders can menstruate… trans boys and men and non binary people may have periods.”

The new sex education guidelines introduced by the Brighton and Hove City Council this month, are facing severe criticism. Further to this they have even ordered that special bins only useful in girls/women’s toilets, are to be installed in the boys toilets too. All in the name of equality? Local Tory MP David Davies has described the development as ‘insanity.’

Vulnerable Young Minds

Apart from that fact children are being taught non-factual information, I would strongly suggest that as a parent we consider the very real possibility that if these are just ‘guidelines,’ then these so-called ‘sex educators’ could be teaching our kids just about anything.

So why are our children being encouraged to explore such intimate, sexual awareness at such a young vulnerable age? In this author’s opinion it does nothing but confuse the child and could have far-reaching and devastating effects on society, as a whole in the future. But this is already occurring in another way. Earlier in the year the Daily Mail again reported that a new NHS (National Health Service UK), published a guidebook stating that males living as women will now be invited for tests to check for cervical cancer! Seriously?

What does the Bible say?

“God’s ways are not man’s ways.” (Isaiah 55:89)

In Genesis, God made ALL creation as male and female – including man. In order for the world to continue following the Great Flood, all species went into the Ark – 1 male and 1 female – two-by-two. No confusion there!

Unfortunately it is clear that Hove and Brighton Council are following their own ways. Unashamedly invalidating the majority of the children, who were raised in a cisgender household. By publishing and using erroneous narratives, in turn they are creating a false doctrine.

It would also appear that what is happening in these days and not just in the UK, are indeed a sign of the End Times. 2 Timothy 3 confirms this:

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,  without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,  treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—  having a form of godliness but denying its power…always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth.”

In Summation

In summing up we have observed that the extreme viewpoint of liberalism is no longer a ‘viewpoint’. It is a revolving door that never stops. With their opinions now being validated as fact by government authorities, we can only pray that this ungodliness is denied power. And while it continues to prod and push society using the ‘discrimination’ card, our children perish for lack of knowledge.

If such controversial guidelines go unchallenged, in the future, children will no longer ask their parent’s what is right or wrong, because in the ‘brave new world’ the liberals are creating, there won’t be such a thing.
