How do you keep your heart soft and pure in a day and age where there are so many distractions and corruption? God’s heart is for us and he desires to guard our heart with His word. Guarding our hearts is so much more about keeping your heart surrendered to God than rules and regulations. Being with God is how we keep our hearts in tune with His, and remain pure and holy before Him. Our hearts are precious instruments that have the ability to lead us into great things with God in the center. Our hearts are a powerful force to be reckoned with. Here is a Bible verse of the day kjv for your week to help you keep your heart guarded, strong, and pure with the truth.
Proverbs 4:23
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
This Bible verse of the day kjv shares with us that everything we do flows from our hearts. How can we protect our hearts and guard them well? We guard it by keeping God’s word hidden in our hearts and obeying God’s voice. Obedience is out of love, not out of duty. When God commands us to do something in scripture like in this Bible verse of the day kjv, He gives us the grace to do it. He wants to protect us with His words of truth and presence. We will not be able to hear God’s voice clearly if we do not protect our hearts with God’s word and presence. What we feed on will ultimately feed us, good or bad.
Matthew 5:8
“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”
What does this Bible verse of the day kjv mean when it says “pure in heart”? The word “pure” in the Strong’s Concordance is defined as “clean”. Another definition of pure from the Webster’s Revised Dictionary is “free from mixture or combination, unmixed.” Both of these definitions show us, based on the Bible verse of the day kjv, that purity means clean and unmixed from the things of this world. We are not born into the world to be like it but to transform it into what it was intended to look like, Heaven on Earth. God says in John 15:19 that He chose us out of the world. We are to look like our Father, who is pure and holy. This is our true identity as we are made in His likeness, as sons and daughters of the highest King.
Psalm 24:4
“The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.”
The Bible verse of the day kjv above shows how the one with cleans hands and a pure heart can enter into God’s presence. The idols and sin of this world are what can separate us from God and corrupt our hearts. Bring your heart and mess to God daily with a Bible verse of the day kjv. He is faithful to purify you and help you live the life you were created to live. God’s holy presence will convict you to bring you closer to Him and not to condemn you.
James 4:8
“Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
This next Bible verse of the day kjv points out how God will draw near to us when we draw near to Him! His presence is what will cleanse us from all unrighteousness and keep us living free from sin. This Bible verse of the day kjv also points out how double-mindedness is not of God. Let God remove all confusion from your mind and hearts so you can fully walk in strength and confidence in God’s ways.
Psalm 73:26
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever (Psalm 73:26).”
God is the strength of our hearts! Like this Bible verse of the day kjv shares, our hearts without God will fail us. Our fleshly nature is weak and sorrowful without the hope that comes in being with Jesus. God’s presence and knowing His heart is what makes our hearts truly come alive. May our hearts beat to the rhythm of His and know the sound of His love. Love is what will carry us through as we carry God’s love in our hearts. God’s love poured into our hearts is pure and holy. Nothing else that tries to compete with His love can truly satisfy our heart!
Psalm 119:10-11
“With my whole heart have I sought Thee, O let me not wander from Thy commandments! Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might no sin against Thee.”
How do you protect your heart protected in a world with so much confusion and distraction? Psalm 119 describes how if we seek God with our whole hearts and hide His word in us we will be able to keep from sinning against God. The more we know God’s word, the more we can recognize His voice and His heart for us. We will begin to form the right motives and be led into truth and life in every way. When your in communion with God, your desire will be for Him and nothing else.
1 John 3:2-3
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. And every man that hath this hope in Him purifieth Himself, even as He is pure.”
When we spend time with our Father we begin to look like Him. The more time spent in His presence and in His word, the more we reflect the beauty that He carries. 1 John 3 talks about how as sons of God, we are purified as God is pure. It shares about the coming of Jesus and when He comes, we will be like Him, holy and pure just as He is.
Let these scriptures purify your hearts and mind as you go about your week. Remember that you are made pure and holy in the presence of God and because of Jesus’ great love for you. Walk in this confidence knowing that God wants to purify you continually so you can walk in greater authority and love!
