A stranger with no medical background helped a mom deliver her baby on the roadside, and the mom attested that there was no doubt God placed her in her path.
Stranger Delivers Baby By The Roadside
One fine morning, Stela Niznik, co-owner of a restaurant in Downtown Miami, had just come out of her yoga class. And while on her way to work from the class, she saw a pregnant woman on the roadside. She immediately pulled over when she saw blood all over the mother’s legs.

Stela called 911 around 8:30 in the morning to ask for help. However, the baby couldn’t wait for the emergency response to come over anymore. She could already see the baby girl’s head. Hence, the 911 dispatcher gave her instructions and asked her to use her yoga mat and towels.
“I’m pushing with one hand, and with the other hand, I just started slapping her legs,” Stela recounted.
Then she cheered the mom and yelled, “C’mon mom! You got this! Keep on pushing, push!” And miraculously, several minutes later, “the baby perfectly landed on her hands at 8:45 AM.”

The Miami Fire Rescue then arrived and took the mother and her baby to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Soon after, the Haitian mom reunited with Stella. She even named her baby “Darlie Stela” in honor of the stranger who delivered her. And the mom said there was no doubt “that God placed Stela in her path.” Further, she also “hopes for her to continue to help others because God will bless her.”
What’s more, Stela continues to help the Haitian mom and her baby girl. She set up a GoFundMe page called “Miracle Yoga Mat Baby” to raise funds for them.
“They are in need of a home, clothing, food, and money for medical bills,” the restaurant owner wrote.
Finally, Stela concluded, “I don’t think it was a coincidence that I just happened to be there and that I just happened to stop.”
