The final words of a missionary pastor, recently killed in Turkey, have been released.
Missionary Pastor Jinwook Kim
On November 19, Pastor Jinwook Kim was brutally murdered. Jinwook and his family had moved from Europe to be missionaries. Their mission was to ease the suffering of Syrian refugees who had settled in Turkey.
Ministry in Diyarbakir, Turkey
The 41-year-old missionary established the ministry in Diyarbakir in eastern Turkey to help refugees and preach the Gospel. Pastor Jinwook had been living in Turkey for 5 years. The murder happened in the new city where he had just moved.
The attacker stabbed Jinwook three times. Turkey’s Public Security Branch Director of Murder Bureau has arrested a 16-year-old suspect for the pastor’s murder.
Last words of the missionary pastor
Korea Pastors Mission Association (KPMA) just released a statement regarding his death, revealing his last words to his wife.
“On the 19th, Pastor Jinwook Kim told his heavily pregnant wife that he will “go out to evangelize,” KPMA reported. Neither knew it would be his last time. In response, hundreds attended his funeral.
Christian missionary martyr
Recently, KPMA also recognized Pastor Jinwook as a Christian missionary martyr.
“From the days of the early church, church history has been a history of martyrdom…Incredible spiritual revival will occur in the blood of martyrdom shed by Missionary Jinwook Kim in Korea and Turkey,” they added.
The KPMA asks for prayers for the grieving family of the missionary pastor. He leaves behind a 4-year-old son and his wife who gave birth to their second child just days after his tragic death.
“Pray for the comfort and peace of God to bereaved families in sorrow and suffering.”
