Doctor Witnesses Dead Patient Brought Back To Life After A Pastor Prayed

A doctor witnessed his dead patient brought back to life inside the emergency room after a pastor prayed for her. He now testifies to the miracle.

During a Sunday worship service at Coffeyville First Church, a doctor testified about the miracle he witnessed at a hospital. Landon D. Vinson, M.D., is a Coffeyville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) doctor. And as he was assigned to the emergency room, he never expected to witness God’s power before his eyes.

In his testimony, Dr. Landon shared before the congregation that he saw his patient brought back to life after a pastor laid hands on her lifeless body.

“I’ve seen hundreds of people at the end of their lives,” he said. “I am confident of being able to determine if someone was about to die or when they were ‘gone’. That’s part of the job description.”

Woman Admitted At Emergency Room

Apparently, during the pandemic, he had a woman patient brought to the emergency room in critical condition. The medical team performed CPR on the woman for an hour, but she wasn’t responding.

“We did get her heart beating again,” the doctor recalled. “But essentially the only thing keeping her heart going was shots of adrenalin in her bloodstream and putting her on a ventilator. From a medical standpoint, she wasn’t alive. She was what we call ‘brain dead.'”

Landon “found no signs of life” with his patient. Later, the husband decided to give up and allowed the medical staff to “remove her from life support.” But at the time, he also called his pastor, Randy DePriest. He asked him “to come and pray” and then requested Landon to wait for the pastor to arrive.

Doctor Witness His Dead Patient Come Back To Life

Although the doctor knew the case was hopeless, he waited to respect the patient’s husband. Soon, the pastor arrived and prayed over the body of his dead patient.

“We began to pray over her,” Landon recounted. “My head was bowed. There was a nurse in the room. Maybe just a couple minutes into the prayer, a machine began sounding an alarm. I thought I would just turn it off so it would not be distracting. When I looked up, spontaneous breath began coming back. I saw a hand moving on this woman.”

Hearing God

The doctor was utterly speechless by what he had just witnessed because “she did not have any sign of life.”

“We had taken her off all medications,” he continued. “We had given her four medications to keep her heart going. Those were all turned off. But now her blood pressure was strong. It was going through the roof. She was blinking her eyes. I leaned down and asked, ‘Can you hear me?’ She nodded her head ‘Yes.’ I asked, ‘Do you want us to keep going and fight?’ She aggressively shook her head ‘Yes.'”

Dr. Landon heard God at that moment, saying, “That is My child. I decide who lives.” Right then, he realized that at the end of the day, regardless of medical efforts, God has the ultimate decision.

Pastor Randy said, “As I prayed that prayer of faith, I didn’t know that in the other room, there were big changes in the monitor.”

“This was a miracle,” Dr. Landon remarked.

Doctor’s Near-Fatal Accident Brings Him Closer To God

A successful family doctor experienced a near-death accident that changed everything in his life.

May 3, 2012, Dr. Jeff Huxford was driving into town to pick up some items at a local hardware store. While still on the road, he got into a near-fatal accident that caused a traumatic brain injury and near-death experience.

“I stopped at the stop light, but a truck going the other way did not stop … [and] pushed my truck into a concrete pole,” Dr. Jeff said. “My head went through the driver’s side window and hit the pole … they had to cut me out with the jaws of life.”

Paramedics then transported Dr. Jeff to Chicago for the treatment of his severe and near-fatal injuries.

“It was a miracle that I survived.”

He said, noting that the accident left him with “a severe traumatic brain injury.”

Dr. Jeff was determined to recover to his usual self again. But, that severe traumatic brain injury changed his life forever.

“After a brain injury, a person has to find their new normal … and I didn’t really believe that at first,” he said

His injuries from the accident forced him to retire from his decade-long career as a physician.

Dr. Jeff may have lost everything he has, but he found something that has a higher value than his career and possessions. He found a relationship with God and his purpose in Christ.

“This brain injury might have taken a lot from me, but it has also given me a lot,” he said.

Despite growing up in a Christian family, Dr. Jeff’s faith in the Lord is not that intimate.

“I think over time I got really comfortable in my faith and it became more of a checklist type thing where I was making sure I was checking the right boxes,” he said. “It wasn’t about a relationship.”

After the horrific accident, Dr. Jeff heard a sermon about the importance of not being a lukewarm Christian and it changed his life from that moment on!

“When I heard the verse this time I started seeing myself as being one of those lukewarm Christians,” Huxford said.

That sermon brought him to a deeper understanding of God and his faith.

“I would never wish a traumatic brain injury on a person,” he said. “But if that’s what it took for me to find Jesus and learn about Jesus in the way I needed to then I would do it all again.”

Abandoned Baby Born With A Rare Disorder

Francis Joel Smith was born with a rare disorder called Treacher-Collins syndrome. Hence, he had no ears, eye sockets, or cheekbones. His parents gave him up for adoption after his birth. Thankfully, a wonderful family took him from foster care three years later despite his condition. And the family who adopted him loved him like their own child.

Life was hard for Francis growing up because of his facial deformities. Kids often bullied him in school because of his appearance. The painful experience would have torn him down if not for his faith.

“Only my family and my faith in God carried me through,” he said in an interview with CBS Colorado.

Throughout his journey, God sustained Francis from the emotional abuse he suffered from people. That’s why he came out from all the struggles strong in his faith and trust in the Lord Jesus.

Becoming A Doctor Of Philosophy

Then in high school, Francis became surrounded by the right peers and teachers who encouraged him. So, things began to get better for the teen. Later, he became a remarkable man who played cello and violin. Furthermore, he became a “Ph.D. in cranial facial science and became Dr. Francis Joel Smith.”

Francis defied all odds and lived a normal life even when many doubted his existence, including his biological parents. He wasn’t expected to survive because of his condition. But God had other plans, and Francis realized he had a purpose in this world.

“I may have thought that way back, but now I realize I’m here for a purpose,” he remarked.

Husband And Wife Contracted COVID-19

Autumn Carver and her husband, Zach, were expecting their third child when an unexpected sickness infected their family. Amidst the pandemic in 2021, the couple contracted COVID-19. The husband recovered, but the pregnant wife did not. Her condition worsened, and she had to be admitted to the ICU.

Soon, doctors diagnosed Autumn with acute respiratory distress syndrome. And while battling COVID, the mom had to undergo an emergency C-section to save her baby. This resulted in her condition becoming more critical that she had to be on advanced life support.

Prayed To God For A Miracle

Doctors told Zach her wife might not survive, and she had a zero percent chance. But Zach did not trust that news. Instead, he prayed and asked God for a miracle. He also posted the prayer request on social media, reaching millions online. As a result, millions worldwide contended in prayer with Zach for Autumn’s life.

Later, the main doctor told Zach to let her wife go by taking off her life support already, given her condition. But Zach firmly declined, believing that God would show a miracle. And indeed, a miracle unfolded when they met a renowned thoracic surgeon for a second opinion. That’s when they received the news that Autumn would be okay because she would no longer need a lung transplant.

A few days later, Autumn continued to show promising signs of recovery. Zach praised God for the miracle and never stopped praying for her.

Three months later, doctors finally released Autumn to be discharged from the hospital. And as they went home, neighbors greeted them with a warm welcome home.

Today, Autumn considers every day of every moment with her family a gift from God. Meanwhile, it has been a lifestyle for Zach to pray with his kids every single night.

Praying Doctor Saves Patients, Leads People To Christ

A praying doctor is making a difference as he uses his profession not just to save his patients through medical science, but leading them to Christ.

Praying Doctor

Dr. Michael Haglund is a well-known cervical surgeon at Duke University who has saved the lives of many in North Carolina. He’s not just known for being the best doctor in the country but is also deemed the “praying doctor.”

The surgeon has witnessed many miracles as he leaned on God, especially in hopeless and impossible cases with his patients. In one of the many testimonies, one of Michael’s patients returned to his clinic six weeks later. The patient then told the doctor that he felt something different and that something had changed after he prayed for him. So, their conversation led to the patient accepting Christ in his heart.

Conviction To Pray

In another testimony, Michael felt a strong conviction from God to pray for the 10-year-old patient. The child suffered from a big epidural hematoma because of an accident. The Lord led him to pray for the young boy and lay hands on him. So, he went to the 10-year-old’s hospital bed, laid hands on him, and prayed.

“Lord, we’ve done everything we can do. We need You to do a miracle, Amen,” the doctor asked God.

Looking For Opportunities To Pray

Fifteen minutes later, a miracle happened, and the boy woke up. Later, he found out that many people were praying for the boy. That’s when he realized how powerful prayer is. Since then, his journey of becoming a praying doctor began.

“From then on, it’s like you’re just looking for opportunities where God’s moving,” he said.

The doctor has been serving people for more than three decades now with his profession. And he’s not just your ordinary doctor, but a doctor changing the lives of many through Jesus Christ.

Man Who Might Never Walk Again Runs A Marathon With His Doctor

A man had an accident that broke his spinal cord. His doctor said he could never walk again, but later on, he defied all odds and ran in a marathon.

Bicycle Accident

Dean Otto had an active lifestyle—often riding his bike early in the morning. One day, while doing his usual routine of riding his bicycle on Sept. 24, 2016, in the suburbs of Charlotte, North Carolina, a car accidentally hit him. Immediately, he felt his body getting paralyzed.

At the hospital, the tests revealed that Dean’s “spine got dislocated” with “several fracture vertebrae pinching his spinal cord.” For that reason, the doctor said his chances of walking again were uncertain. But they had to perform surgery on him immediately to save his life.

Miracle

While in surgery, prayers poured from around the world for Dean. Later on, a miracle happened as the supposed 4-hour surgery turned out to be only 90 minutes. His neurosurgeon, Dr. Matt McGirt, attested that the surgery went smoothly and efficiently. But he informed his wife, Beth, that Dean had only a two percent chance that he would ever be able to walk again.

The next day, Dean’s family witnessed another miracle as Dean was able to move his toe. It only meant that his neuropathway wasn’t wholly damaged; hence, he had a higher chance of being able to walk again. Three days later, indeed, he made his first steps after the accident.

Marathon Challenge To Himself

Meanwhile, Will, the young man who accidentally hit him, asked for Dean’s forgiveness. Dean immediately released forgiveness to him. He told Will, “I don’t want you to carry this around you for the rest of your life. I want you to be able to process this and move on.” And soon, the two became friends and kept in touch.

One day, Dean challenged himself to run half a marathon. He made it his goal while doing his therapies. He also invited his doctor to join him so they could raise funds for spinal cord injury patients. At first, Dr. Matt thought it was impossible. But one year later, Dean would prove him wrong.

So at 16 years old, he turned his back from Jesus, thinking he got better results from his own hard work.

Soon enough, Tom decided to be a doctor. He did well at med school, but the pressure to succeed and keep up a perfect facade fed his anxiety.

Marriage Failure

When he got married, the ER doctor wanted to build the kind of family he never had. But soon after, he found himself escaping as his dad had, working long hours. After over a decade, his marriage crumbled.

One night, in 2014, Tom finally faced his failures. Then he called his sister, who has become a Christian. And she urged him to get to know Jesus.

Challenges Jesus

In a dimly lit room, he talked to Jesus, “I don’t even think that You exist. I’m so done with this, everything that’s happening. I’m gonna give You one more shot.”

Tom got on his knees and further challenged God, “If You exist, You have five minutes to show me. Because otherwise I’m tapping out.”

When he got up, he suddenly felt a presence he could not explain.

“I stood up and instantly felt different,” Tom recalled.

And what happened next changed his life, and he was never the same again. He found the peace he longed for throughout his life.

A doctor decides to give up his practice to serve medical missions overseas full-time after finding an organization where he said, “I could use my skills for God’s glory in a new way.”

Hearing Gospel In Campus Crusade For Christ

Allan Sawyer found Jesus during a Campus Crusade for Christ when he was still young. During that time, a pastor shared the Gospel with them and asked them intriguing questions that stirred up their minds.

It was a fascinating question for Allan as a former altar boy because he regularly attended church. But he never heard all about what the pastor shared. The pastor preached salvation and explained “The Four Spiritual Laws” to them.

Allan admitted the teaching was “so foreign” to him.

“I thought if you were baptized or confirmed and you went to church, that was all that being a Christian required,” he said. “This pastor was talking about a personal relationship with Jesus when I didn’t even know that was an option.”

Following Jesus

Then, in the end, Allan came to receive Jesus in his heart. He acknowledged he needed Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He then wanted Jesus to be evident in his life and wanted people to see it.’

“If Christ is really inside of me, I want other people to see that and notice it,” he said.

And soon, his confidante friend attested that he had changed. Apparently, the guys in their dorm noticed his changes within six months after accepting Christ. Moreover, his relationship with Christ grew as he attended church regularly.

Becoming A Doctor

Then one day, a physician missionary shared his testimony in the church in serving God through his skills. That’s when Allan felt God speak to him to change his course.

“I heard the Lord say, ‘Allan, if you change your major, you could do what he is doing!'” he recalled. “I walked out of the church and immediately changed my major the next week to biology, which right away felt like the right decision. It was all due to that testimony and God speaking through it to me!”

Medical Missions

As a result, Allan became a licensed physician specializing in obstetrician-gynecologist several years later. And today, he is serving in countries including Africa, Papua New Guinea, Kenya, Zambia, Cameroon, and Uganda. Allan found his purpose in 2003 after a doctor friend invited him to join a medical mission through Samaritan’s Purse. In the field, that’s when he finally made up his mind.

“We saw hundreds of people with all kinds of ailments,” he said. “But that was it for me; I knew I had found an organization where I could use my skills for God’s glory in a new way.”

Dr. Allan gave up his private practice to serve full-time in medical missions. And he has never regretted a thing.

“Being an OB/GYN doctor is so faith-affirming,” the doctor remarked. “Giving that hope to people who have lost it, and doing it in Jesus’ name, is such a privilege.”

The common misbelief about people with Down Syndrome is that they can’t have a family of their own and raise their own child. However, the truth is, many people with Down Syndrome can become parents to their children just as most people do. That’s just what Jad Issa proved to everyone with his inspiring story.

Jad was born with Down Syndrome in Syria. While working in a local wheat mill, he met a woman, and soon they fell in love with each other. They got married and shortly after, they gave birth to a son and named him Sader.

The father with Down Syndrome took care of his son and showered him with all the love that he had. He was able to raise his son just like any other loving dad. Sader even remembers feeling very loved as he grew up. He often spent time with his father playing all sorts of games.

Jad Issa

With big dreams for his son, Jad continued to work in the wheat mill and started saving up for Sader’s college. He did all he could to support his family in all aspects. Sader was inspired by his father’s hard work and love, so he also gave his best to do good in academics and became a doctor.

“I think I would’ve been much less excited about life and much less passionate about what I do if I didn’t have my special father,” Sader wrote alongside a photo with his dad.

Today, Sader is now a dentist, one of the most high-paying jobs in Syria. Jad is so proud of his son. This father and son duo is inspiring the world with its extraordinary story.

Mother & Unborn Baby Experience Miracle Through Prayers

A 22-week pregnant mother and unborn baby survives through prayers. Doctor confirmed it’s a miracle!

Pregnant Mother Diagnosed With Hernia

One day, while 22 weeks pregnant, Laura Johnson felt an intense pain that sent her to the hospital. The doctors then discovered she had hernia four centimeters wide. It twisted her stomach and pushed her intestines up to her chest. On top of that, her unborn baby was in danger. Hence, she had to undergo a high-risk surgery immediately so both of them could survive.

Meanwhile, Laura’s husband, Sean, put it all in the hands of God. And just like him, Laura also trusted God with her situation. She had confidence that the battle was the Lord’s. Although she admits it hurt, she took confidence that God had her.

Unborn Baby In Danger

Laura then underwent surgery two days later. However, they found her condition much worse than the doctors thought when they opened her up. And now, her surgery would take days instead of a few hours. The doctor wasn’t sure about her survival, especially since she was also carrying an unborn baby.

During day two of her surgery, Laura went into labor and delivered her baby 17 weeks premature while still unconscious. The baby weighed only one pound, eight ounces. And for the following months, the baby girl faced several life-threatening conditions. She had two brain bleeds, hydrocephalus, chronic lung disease, and underwent two brain surgeries. It also came to the point the baby almost died, and the parents were called in to say their final goodbyes.

Prayers

Amidst the very challenging circumstance, family, friends, and church continued to pray for Laura and her baby. For that reason, Laura always felt like she had an army fighting for her. And soon, she recovered well.

Five months later, the doctors also discharged baby Alora from the hospital.

Today, baby Alora is a healthy and happy child that even doctors were impressed with her progress. And Laura believes that God wants her to share their miraculous experience with the world.
