Watch as Dolly Parton, a renowned country music artist and philanthropist, explains her daily ritual. How she starts each day with prayer is very inspiring.
Watch: Dolly Parton
In this video, Dolly begins each morning with a prayer asking God to “help me, guide me, and direct me.” In her regular prayers, she asks God to “bring all the right things, all the right people into my life—and take all the wrong things out.”
“And, I ask Him to — every day — to do something to uplift mankind and to glorify Him,” she continued.

These are the morning prayers that guide Dolly in making both significant and insignificant decisions to serve others. Dolly has long been acknowledged for her contributions to literary campaigns, academic services, and assistance for art education programs.
Being a musician and an artist herself, she wants to support many who have the same passion as hers.
“God does work through people,” she continued.
Dolly also mentions that she reads from “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young, a New York Times bestselling author, as part of her “spiritual practice.”
“Peace Like A River”
In GOD TV’s recent blog, two music legends Dolly Parton and Dione Warwick teamed up for their new gospel song duet “Peace Like A River”.
Dolly and Dionne recently spoke with “Good Morning America” about their next gospel song duet, “Peace Like A River,” which is scheduled to be published on February 24. Dolly Parton wrote the song in the 1980s; the title is a verse from the Bible. The music legend turned to the “Source,” who is God, for comfort when she was going through a trying time in her life.
“It was during a time when I was feeling like I need to be lifted up more because you go through things in your life and in your career. I just started thinking I just need to just relax, I just need to feel peace, peace like a river. So, always always go to that Source. When I need to, I just look up,” Dolly said.
State tuned when the song is out!
