Two baristas from Vancouver, Washington do not only deliver coffee to their customers, but also offer prayer and comfort when needed. As they extended their hand to grieved customers, little did they know that their acts of kindness would impact many. One customer in line took a photo of their kindness in action and it has gone viral.
Barbara Dunner posted on Facebook the moving picture in 2016. “Snapped this picture while waiting in line at the Dutch Bros on 138th Avenue.. Turns out the young lady in line ahead of us lost her 37-year-old husband last night. When the DB guys and gals noticed she was falling apart, they stopped everything and prayed with her for several minutes,” she captioned. “[They] invited her to come back for prayer and support, as well as anything else that she might need.”

Alisha Wisbey had recently lost her husband due to heart disease. She was already in tears while in line. The couple were regular customers in the store. As one female worker asked about her husband, she then broke down and cried.

Pierce Dunn and Evan Freeman were two of the coffee stand workers at the time. When the female worker told them about Alisha’s situation, they immediately do what they always do every time there’s someone in pain or hurt. “We’re going to give them our love,” they said.
Today, Alisha is reminded of their act of kindness and still gets emotional over it. “Something spiritual or something beautiful like that, you can’t always see it, at that moment. But I can now because I have a picture and it’s another way I can remember him (her husband),” she said. “They wanted to let me know that I’m not alone and they feel my pain,”she explained. And that no matter what faith you are, what color you are, who you are, other people can feel your pain and they’re there for you.”

“If every single person did an act of kindness or just had a smile on their face, the world would be a completely different place,” Dunn said.
