A teenage drug addict got to know who Jesus is inside the prison walls, 21 years later, he is now a pastor in California.
Teenage Drug Addict
Xenn Seah grew up in a poor Buddhist family in Singapore. At the age of nine, he began selling heroin and marijuana on the streets and soon after became a drug addict himself. When he was 18, he was caught for possession of heroin while serving in the army. He was sentenced to three years.
After serving his sentence, he immediately got back to his old habit of using and selling drugs. Xenn went to prison two more times but nothing changed…until he went back to prison for the fourth time. This time, he was sentenced to eight years, but this time something happened to him.

Rev. Xenn Seah
He went to chapel service just to escape confinement. But during his very first worship service, he started weeping. He didn’t understand anything but started coming to the Bible study.
“I realized there’s something special in that room in there. Even though I could not see Jesus, I could feel and felt His presence,” he recalled.
After weeks, he finally prayed to Jesus for the very first time.
“Jesus, help me. I want to change. I don’t want to be in prison anymore, I don’t want to take drugs anymore, and I want to change. Help me, Jesus,” he said to the Lord while crying.
Testimony
He also made a covenant with the Lord at that time that if he’d get out of prison in his sixth month, he would serve the Lord. For the next few months, he kept on going to the Bible study, hungry for the Lord. At exactly 5 months and 29 days of his sentence, the superintendent told him that he was being released the next day.
That following morning, he was set free. Immediately after getting out of prison, he went to church, which was also the church where the missionaries conducting Bible studies inside the prison attended. The missionaries took him in and discipled him.
Over two decades later, he is now a pastor at a church in California. He is sharing His testimony to draw people into the Lord.
“What a mighty God that we serve… I am the testimony here to let you know that this God we serve called Jesus, is alive. He is alive and He is not dead.”
