Dog The Bounty Hunter Testimony: From An Imprisoned Criminal To A Crime-Fighting Reality Star

Duane Chapman, popularly known as “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” shares how he was transformed from being an imprisoned criminal to being a crime-fighting reality star.

In an interview with “The Prodigal Stories Podcast,” Duane shared his testimony and how God transformed his life entirely. The reality star grew up with a Christian mother, she was a pastor. As a child, he attended church services every Sunday.

“My great, great grandmother was a Christian,” he said. “She was a pastor. My mother … all day long, her whole life, all she did was pray for us.”

But despite having Christian roots and getting to know Christianity at a young age, he started to walk from his faith years later. Eventually, his decision to do anything he wanted to lead him to a life of corruption and crime.

Imprisoned Criminal

Duane and three others broke into a house to steal marijuana. One of his accomplices shot and killed the homeowner during the scuffle and they were arrested. Duane was sentenced to five years and served 18 months in prison.

“After going to prison in the 70s in Texas for 18 months, I realized right then that, at the end of this rainbow of crime and all that is not a bucket of gold, it’s a cell,” he said.

His mother never gave up on praying for him. Even after his release from prison, his mother made efforts to bring him back to Jesus.

“As I slept, my mom put on a recording of the Bible,” he recalled.

Crime-fighting Christian

After some time, his heart started to change and he started to want to do what was good. That’s the start of his rekindled faith in Jesus Christ.

“I started acting nice. I’m an Indian outlaw, so I started acting like I wasn’t,” he said. “Then I started thinking, ‘What would Jesus do right now?’ … I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to slap [someone] or something, and I’d think, ‘Jesus would not do that.’”

Today, he is an outspoken Christian who hunts criminals. The 69-year-old bounty hunter claims to have captured 8,000 fugitives over his four-decade career. He is also ministering to those criminals to help them do the right thing.

“I would capture guys and tell them, ‘Listen, man, I’ve been there, done that … we need supernatural help,’” he said.

Dog the Bounty Hunter will continue to share the message of the Gospel to everyone through his platform.

“I am not a preacher — never will be,” he said. “But I have a message.”

Dog The Bounty Hunter Performs ‘Amazing Grace’ In ‘Masked Singer,’ Judges Were Brought To Tears

Dog the Bounty Hunter brought the judges of the show “Masked Singer” to tears with his soulful rendition of “Amazing Grace.”

Duane Chapman, popularly known as “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” joined the popular masked celebrity singing show dressed in an armadillo suit. On the 6th episode of the show’s 7th season, the outspoken Christian performed an emotional rendition of the Christian hymn.

Judges Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke were moved by Duane’s performance. Nicole wiped her tears as she commented on his performance.

“That’s one of the best versions of ‘Amazing Grace’ I’ve ever heard because you believed it, and so do I,” Nicole said.

“Amazing Grace”

Duane then revealed that the song was his mother’s favorite song.

“That song happened to be my mother’s favorite. It really was very emotional for me to show my faith, that Fox is cool enough to do that to anybody,” Duane said in an interview with Hollywood Life.

Judge Robin also revealed that “Amazing Grace” is the song that he sings to his child almost every night.

“I sing that song to my son just about every night. And years ago, when I was going through my toughest times, those lyrics would resonate with me. It was my son and my children that saved me. I really appreciate you putting that down,” Robin said.

Later in the competition, with just three contestants left, Duane was eliminated from the show. He opened up about how difficult the show is for every performer. The costumes are incredibly heavy and while wearing the masks, no one can see through them. But it was God who helped him through the competition.

“You can’t see. You can’t walk,” he said. “So, you’re actually talking around the neck, but you’ve got to act like you’re not. You cannot see. No one can. You’ve got to go out there blindfolded and depend on God and your hidden talent.”

Duane Chapman Stars In Upcoming Christian Film ‘Hunter’s Creed’ To Honor Late Wife

Reality TV star Duane Chapman will star in the upcoming Christian film “Hunter’s Creed” to honor his late wife.

“Hunter’s Creed”

“Hunter’s Creed” is a faith-based movie, formerly titled “Hunting God,” scheduled to be released on October 6. The film’s theme revolves around the commonly asked question: Why does God allow bad things to happen? It is about keeping the faith despite facing great loss.

“After losing his wife, a man reunites with his church buddies to film the hunting show they’ve always wanted to make together. Before long, he senses a dark presence in the woods eventually bringing him face to face with death — and his faith,” the synopsis of “Hunter’s Creed” reads.

Directed by Justin Jackola and written by Ken Miyamoto, this film will inspire Christians about God’s truth. Duane Chapman, popularly known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, will star in the upcoming film to honor his late wife who also died of cancer.

“Dog Chapman was the perfect choice for ‘Hunter’s Creed’ for a number of reasons. First off, Dog isn’t afraid of his faith,” director Justin said in an interview. “He’s open and honest about what God’s done in his life on and off-camera. In his television show, we have literally seen him pray on camera for help in finding his next bounty. It’s a film about a man’s intimate response to losing his wife to cancer and Dog has experienced exactly that with his late wife Beth Chapman passing away to cancer.”

Faith-based film

Viewers of the film will understand more of God’s sovereignty while also deepening their faith in Him.

“We want people to walk away with a sense of awe, that God’s sovereignty and plan may be more beautiful and complex than you could ever imagine. We also want people to think deeply about what they truly believe,” Director Justin said. “If you were face to face with death, where would your heart really rest?”

Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman Reveals His Wife Beth’s Final Words Were ‘In Jesus’ Name!”

On June 26, reality TV star,  Beth Chapman died at the age of 51 while undergoing treatment for throat cancer. She and her husband Duane starred in ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ with a large following across the USA. Beth’s death is a sad loss to the Chapman family which includes the 12 children, the couple shared together, 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. It is also a huge loss to reality TV and all who have been inspired by her brave fight against cancer.

In Jesus Name

Just this week, Duane shared Beth’s final words which were a fitting conclusion to her life. The Bible says whatever we do, we should do it in the name of Jesus and how fitting Beth would say this as she passed from the earthlly realm in the Heavenly realm.

The reality star was always passionate and open about her faith in God, even during her battle with the disease. She even said that her medical condition was just a test of her faith. “One of the last things Beth said was ‘It’s a test of my faith.’ She had faith, and that was it.” Duane said.

She also expressed her endless love for her family. “’’I love you’ and ‘Are you guys all OK? Don’t worry,” he added.

“When Beth had an attack, I didn’t know what to do but to say ‘in Jesus’ name’ and hold her,” Duane said. “And, when I said, ‘in Jesus’ name’ she’d say, ‘Say it again, say it more,'”

As Beth spent her last moments in her hospital bed, “She told the girls and everybody, with her mouth—’in Jesus’ name’ – she came out with it a couple of times.”

What a way to leave this earth….
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.“ (Colossians 3:17)

Duane also shared that Beth left him notes all over their home before she passed away. He vowed he’s going to see his ‘honey’ again. “That’s all we can do is hope,” he said.

Beth Chapman, Wife to Duane ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Chapman, Has “Hiked the Stairway to Heaven”

Duane Chapman, also known as ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter,’ tweeted that his wife, Beth, has “hiked the stairway to Heaven.”

On June 23rd, while Beth was in coma, Duane asked his friends and family to pray. Tweeting:

Beth Chapman (51), who has stood by her husband’s side in their bail bonds business and famous reality-TV series, was in a medical induced coma in Hawaii. She valiantly fought throat cancer undergoing a successful surgery removing a tumor in 2017. But in time cancer returned, moving to her lungs and was incurable.

USA Today reports, “Beth and Duane Chapman gained fame starring together on the A&E reality series Dog the Bounty Hunter from 2003 to 2012, according to IMDB. The couple, along with their children, chased down fugitives in Hawaii. A few years later, they trained other bail bond agents on Dog and Beth: On the Hunt.”

Jeanie Law of Christian Post said, “While speaking at The Source Church in Bradenton, Florida on Mother’s Day Beth revealed that her diagnosis has been ‘the ultimate test of faith.’ Beth said, ‘I don’t go to God and go, ‘Why did I get cancer?’ He’ll roll his eyes at me again, because I know why. Because this is the ultimate test of faith. It is the evidence of things hoped for and it is the substance of things not known.'”

Please pray that the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus falls upon the Chapman family during this time.
