To Pray ‘His Will Be Done On Earth’ Is To Bring Heaven Down

We pray “Your will be done as it is in heaven”. Do we really understand what this means? To pray His will be done on earth is to bring heaven down to earth. This is to build His Kingdom down here on earth. Is this even possible in a fallen world? Will the god of this world allow it? This is the war we are in down here as we implement His Kingdom values and will down here. There will be resistance but we have been given the authority to bind and to lose, to permit and refuse permission. When we do this we will see a shift in the atmosphere around us. God’s glory will descend and all evil will be pushed back. The earth will rejoice and all creation will benefit from His tangible presence. Jesus brought heaven down to earth when He descended from heaven. He brought healing, deliverance and light. We are called to do the same.

Total Submission

We must submit all to God and resist the devil. Total submission to God will push the forces of evil back. The devil cannot fight God and win. He thought he had won when they crucified Jesus. The devil suffered a death blow at the Cross. He was completely defeated when Jesus rose from the dead. Now we have to implement the finished work of Jesus on the Cross. When we do this as a church we will move heaven to earth. One can do much but two can do more. Let us unite under the banner of Jesus and shift the atmosphere in our town, city and nation. This is possible when we believe and do what He says. The shift first happens in the spiritual realm and then in the earthly realm. God is waiting for His people to trust His word and obey.

Invasion of Heaven

I believe faith is rising in the nations and many are witnessing a fresh move of God. We must jump in and join the flow and see nations changed. Many are having heavenly visitations of angels and miraculous signs evidenced. These are all signs of His preparation of the church for the final return of the King. Let us not be weary but awake and hot for His return in glory.

NASA Astronaut Quotes Psalm 30 Above Earth’s Horizon: ‘Joy Cometh in the Morning’

A NASA astronaut aboard the International Space Station who made headlines in November reveals space photos with Bible verse.

In November, Victor Glover blasted to the International Space Station in the SpaceX Crew Dragon’s capsule Resilience. He is the first African American to go on a long-term mission. Victor also made headlines after revealing that the man brought a Bible and communion cups with him onboard. The Christian astronaut said he wanted to kindle his faith even in space.

And indeed, today, Victor’s faith continues to burn bright as he shares God’s Word in a recent post on Instagram and Twitter Wednesday. He wrote, “Took these photos today, I love sunrises and sunsets. Can you see the bands of color?”

The NASA astronaut posted photos of the sun beaming above the earth’s horizon, saying how it reminds him of a particular Scripture.

“They remind me of the scripture in Psalm 30, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” It seems darkest just before sunrise. I wish you all love and light,” he added.

Keeping The Fire Burning

In an interview with the Christian Chronicle last year, Victor shared his worship time in space. He said, “I will probably continue in what we’ve been doing: virtual service, virtual giving, reading my Bible and praying.”

The Christian wanted to keep his fire burning for the Lord, even in space. Moreover, he also admitted that he is aware of the dangers that accompany his NASA mission. But his job helped him put his life in perspective.

“This time has really helped me to focus on what really is most important,” he told the Christian Chronicle. “What do I really have to be doing right now? And I realized how important it is that I really make sure that my family is not just prepared for this mission, but is prepared for life.”

“That’s what a parent’s job is – understanding the role of God in my life, and God’s authority and my submission to that, and the love and support and encouragement that that can create in my life.”

Perspective From Heaven: How God Views Us

What Is It Like In Heaven

I have not been to Heaven but know what Heaven looks like from the Scriptures. Imagine the garden of Eden. It was lush with many kinds of fruit trees and animals that all lived in harmony. There was no fear, and love and peace seemed to pervade the atmosphere. Adam and Eve were naked but not aware of their nakedness for there was no shame. There was freedom to explore and enjoy everything that God had created. No negativity and there was no striving for fame and power. All was peace and tranquility. Everything was provided for and there was perfect communion between the Creator and the created. No sin, disease, or disorder. Everything was perfect in every way. All they had to do was eat and enjoy and be at rest.

What Is It Like On Earth

Contrast that picture with what we face on Earth. Everything is turned inward. There is no peace and all are striving for more, with an endless desire that cannot be satiated. Sin, disease, and disorder are prevalent. There is no rest because battles of all kinds prevail. There are wars within and without. Greed is destroying the Earth. We see power struggles everywhere. Pain from birth to death. A complete reverse from what is in Heaven.

God’s Solution

God saw our helpless state and decided to do something about it. He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins. He reversed the disorder and brought order. Now we can choose to live in the Heavenly atmosphere on Earth or continue to wallow in sin. There is no other way. There is only one way to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. Many choose to follow Him. Will you? Just ask Him to come into your life and rescue you from your helpless state and enjoy Heaven today.

Two Important Journeys You Must Take In Your Life

Our Journeys To Earth

It takes approximately 9 months for your spirit to develop a physical body. This is the only way to successfully enter into this earthly realm. The pain and suffering of labor pains in a woman about to give birth is a sign of what awaits one upon entry. Every human who enters this world inherits the nature of good and evil (see Genesis 3:22). The beauty of each of our journeys is that God provides help in our choices. The Bible and the internal moral compass which comes standard with every human are the tools we need to navigate through life on earth.

No-one knows what to expect of the newly created human. Every human is blessed with gifts that need to develop and bring glory to the One it originates from.  A birthday signals the start of a life of discovery here on planet earth. The process of discovery is filled with highs and lows, constantly nudging us to choose good over evil and worship of our heavenly Father.

From Earth To Heaven

The inevitability of physical death leads us to question the meaning and purpose of life; “Where did I come from?”, “Why am I here?” and “Where am I going?” We don’t have a choice about our journey to earth, but the freedom to choose right from wrong which leads to death or life in the spirit. The mention of death scares most people. When you believe that Jesus has conquered death, you can enjoy the peace which only comes from faith. Your journey will be a physical death but your spirit will live on to be with Jesus.

Romans 6:8 says, “Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall live with Him, knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death has no further dominion over Him.”

The choices you make on earth will determine where your final destination leads you after death. The Bible tells us that there is only one way to the Father and that is through Jesus Christ. You have to “die” to self through repentance and accept life through Jesus Christ. The journey on earth then becomes meaningful. Now continue to discover how fascinating and fulfilling a spiritual relationship with your Creator on earth can be.

About Faith And Storms

Lisa and I just returned from an attempt to go to Florida. When we reached Dallas, we were advised not to go further. In addition to the cancellation of those meetings, we will also not be going to Savannah, GA this weekend either. What is a minor inconvenience for us is potentially catastrophic for thousands, if not millions, of others. With many still reeling from Hurricane Harvey’s effects and with Irma’s overall effects yet unknown, thought it good to share a couple of thoughts about storms from a biblical perspective.

A Storm Jesus Stopped

Bible-believing people often remember the story of Jesus and his disciples, and we love the powerful words of Mark 4:39—“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” As wonderful and inspiring as that story is, it tends to become a default approach (in the minds of some believers) to every storm, and I certainly understand the desire to see every storm calmed instantly.

As a student of Scripture, I have to ask myself if the story of Jesus calming the storm is applicable in every storm and in every situation. Abraham Maslow once said, “I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail.” Did Jesus treat every storm this way? Do we see every storm in Scripture being rebuked and immediately coming to a halt? These are honest and important questions we should explore.

Jesus Walked on Stormy Waters

There is another storm that Jesus did not immediately calm (Matt 14:24-33; Mark 6:45-56; John 6:16-24) and I encourage you to read all three of the referenced accounts. Though the storm eventually stopped, the primary focus here is that Jesus walked on the turbulent waters in the midst of the storm. One of the lessons from Matthew’s account is that Peter had an opportunity to trust Jesus in a very special way even while the storm was still happening. Peter joined Jesus momentarily, also walking on the stormy sea with the Lord until he got distracted and took his eyes off of Jesus (Matt 14:28-31).

A Storm Paul Endured

It is also important to examine another storm in Scripture, the one found in Acts 27. This chapter is worthy of far more study and attention than what I can devote to it in a brief article, but I will mention a few highlights. First, Paul was a prisoner in transit from Israel to Rome to stand trial before Caesar. He perceived impending danger (Acts 27:10), but because he was a prisoner, he was unable to remove himself from the situation. The ship he was on sailed into a horrible and powerful storm that lasted fourteen days. Luke writes, “The terrible storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone” (Acts 27:20, NLT).

Endless speculation can be made as to why Paul did not just rebuke the storm the way Jesus did and see it stop immediately. However, there is a great lesson that does not involve speculation—it comes from simply studying what Paul actually did. In short, he prayed persistently and endured the storm. Though great material loss occurred, Paul and those with him survived, even though the ship itself was destroyed in the situation. Consider the outcome:

But after long abstinence from food, then Paul stood in the midst of them and said, “Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss. 22 And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. 23 For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, 24 saying, “Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ 25 Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me. 26 However, we must run aground on a certain island.”

Paul did not stop the storm as Jesus did in Mark 4, but he obviously prayed fervently, and his prayers were effective. The statement from the angel—“ God has granted you all those who sail with you”—makes me think that Paul was especially praying for the others whose lives were in jeopardy. He encouraged the people, and even though the ship ended up wrecking on the Island of Malta, Paul made it through the storm along with all the others on board. It was not a storm that Paul stopped through prayer, but it was a storm that Paul endured.

Preparation?

The idea of preparing for a huge storm did not begin with the civic leaders or with the advent of the Weather Channel. One of the great stories in the Bible is that of Noah, a man who made extensive preparations for a coming storm. Hebrews 11:7 (NLT) states, “It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before.” Noah prepared by faith! He prepared because he heard from God and followed divine direction.

This is consistent with the wisdom presented in the book of Proverbs.

PROVERBS 21:31 (NLT)
The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance is of the LORD.

PROVERBS 21:31 (MSG)
Do your best, prepare for the worst—then trust GOD to bring victory.

PROVERBS 22:3 (NLT)
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

All of this communicates that faith is not a reckless, careless disregarding of facts. Preparation can be done in faith; it does not have to be done in fear. Keep in mind that the Bible teaches wisdom as well as faith, and that these two can work hand-in-hand for our benefit.

Putting it all Together

As much as I might like to arbitrarily apply a certain Scripture according to my own desires, it is important to

(1) recognize everything that the Bible teaches
(2) follow the leading of the Holy Spirit

I think if Paul could have rebuked the Acts 27 storm and made it stop immediately, he would have. For folks that are facing a storm or are in the midst of a storm (whether literally or figuratively), trusting God and resisting fear is imperative. God does have a peace that passes understanding, and I pray that all of those facing storms will recognize God’s presence and walk in his peace. Let me close with two important passages of Scripture:

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7 (NKJV)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

PSALM 57:1-3 (MSG)
Be good to me, God—and now! I’ve run to you for dear life. I’m hiding out under your wings until the hurricane blows over. 2 I call out to High God, the God who holds me together. 3 He sends orders from heaven and saves me, he humiliates those who kick me around. God delivers generous love, he makes good on his word.

I pray today for my friends in Texas and in Florida. I pray that those who have experienced harm will have grace in recovering, and that those facing danger will have safety, protection, and peace from the Faithful One—the One who is always with us.

Scientist Dies and Visits Heaven

Over the course of our lives, we will not all face life and death situations, but often times we will experience events that change the course of our lives. For Dr. Mary Neal, she faced a life or death experience that set the course for the rest of her life. In 1999, Dr. Mary Neal was in Chile on a trip. One day she was kayaking, and her kayak flipped. She was trapped eight feet below the rapids, unable to move or breathe.

Ultimately Dr. Mary Neal died. But this did not last for long, as she came back to life after visiting Heaven amidst her death.

Dr. Neal comes from Wyoming, where she is an orthopedic surgeon. After her experience in Chile, Neal authored the book, “Seven Lessons From Heaven: How Dying Taught Me to Live a Joy-Filled Life,” to tell others about her wondrous and incredible experience.

Recently, Dr. Neal was a guest on the “The Billy Hallowell Podcast,” where she talked about her book and her experience in more detail. Dr. Neal talks about the accident, and how it not only transformed her spiritual walk but also her day-to-day life. She also gives details surrounding the accident and how she knew that she as in trouble as soon as she crested a waterfall.

“We were kayaking on a section of river well-known for its waterfalls,” she explained. “As I crested the waterfall, I knew that things were not going to go well for me.”

After going underwater, she quickly experienced a weird sensation. She describes her state as a “radical shift in time and dimension.” She said that although he knew she was underwater, she felt a calming feeling of comfort wash over here.

Neal goes into more detail saying, “I was being held and comforted and being reassured that everything was fine, regardless of whether I lived or died,” she said, saying she knew it was Jesus who was comforting her. “I was taken through a life review that was the first of many very profound parts of this experience for me.”

Neal was always a Christian, but before her accident, she was living in lukewarm waters. Following her accident, she said her life changed. She realized quickly that there is more to Christianity than going to church, but a real true relationship with the all mighty God.

“The reality of God is [now] part of every breath I take. And God’s presence is part of every thought that I have,” she said.

Dr. Mary Neal’s experience was life-changing, and one that certainly shook things up in her spiritual life. Do you ever find that you are in a lukewarm place in your faith? Do you feel you could be closer to Jesus? Don’t wait for a near-death experience to wake you up. Make the decision now to get to know the powerful God we serve better.

Will You Be Ready for the Inspection?

My family recently moved into a new house.

And before you judge my next few sentences, I want you to pay attention to the illustration I believe the Holy Spirit wants all of us to understand.

Our new home is beautiful. It’s a Victorian style with a wrap-around porch. One of the things I love about it is the coziness of its architecture. We lived in it three months before I hung a single picture, but you wouldn’t have noticed that right away because of the character of its design. In the middle of the house is a beautiful staircase with intricately carved wood banisters. It has two landings as it winds its way to the upper level. The house has many windows which overlook the beautiful landscaping the former owners spent hours designing and tending. I can honestly say I love our new home.

But… it’s wood, hay, and straw.

The Apostle Paul said, “According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.  For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is” (1 Corinthians 3:10-13).

many of us build our lives like we build our homes

My point is that I’ve come to realize many of us build our lives like we build our homes — with wood, hay, and straw. And even if we’ve built well, and it’s beautiful in it’s design, it’s still just wood.

“If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire” (1 Corinthians 3:14-25). One translation says, “…just barely.”

Are we prepared to see our entire life’s work burned up just because we didn’t pay attention to what we’re building with? I don’t care how beautiful we make wood look — if it’s wood, it can burn. In the same way, I don’t care how great I look to you on the outside. If my heart is full of unforgiveness, lust, greed, or the like, it’ll burn and cost me later.

God is looking for lives built upon the principles of His Word:

Love, kindness, forgiveness, servanthood, unselfishness, and the like. In other words, God is looking for gold, silver, and precious stones. “Eventually there is going to be an inspection. If you use cheap or inferior materials, you’ll be found out. The inspection will be thorough and rigorous. You won’t get by with a thing” (Verse 13, Message).

We don’t need to take these instructions lightly. Do your own inspection now while you still have time to change your building materials. The Bible says God is merciful and even if all your life’s work is burned up, believers will be saved, but just barely. Is that what you want? To be just barely saved through the fire like a family who just watched their home burned to the ground and have nothing left to show but the clothes on their back? I think not. No one does.

So dig into God’s Word and see what He desires. “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8).

And one last thing… if we oooh and aaah over homes made of wood, hay, and straw, what will our Heavenly homes be like?

I know one thing for sure: the Master Builder never uses inferior materials.

As hHurricanes and earthquakes are leaving a trail of devastation across the Caribbean and Mexico, Apostle Guillermo Maldonado says hurricanes and earthquakes are not from God and prays for viewers to have God’s peace in the middle of the chaos.

Apostle Maldonado heads up El Rey Jesús (King Jesus Ministry), in Miami, a city bracing itself for the worst of hurricanes. He has been in the pathway of many major storms and offers advice to all those who may be affected, whether they have to evacuate their homes or sit out the hurricane. Watch this five-minute video and hear why nature is going crazy and what believers can do about it.

While the video focuses on Hurricane Irma, it also gives insight into natural disasters like the earthquake that has just hit Mexico. As a largely Hispanic ministry, El Rey Jesús feels the anguish of the Latino community in Mexico as well as throughout the Caribbean.

Let’s do what we can in the natural and God will do the supernatural.

 “Let’s do what we can in the natural and God will do the supernatural,” Apostle Maldonado says concerning Irma, encouraging those affected to do their best to protect their property while cooperating with local authorities. He also urges believers everywhere to intercede for those in the hurricane’s path as he has often seen such storms disintegrate or averted through the power of prayer.

The GOD TV team prayed for all affected by Hurricane Irma in its Call For Prayer broadcast, and we continue to pray for those affected by the continuing natural disasters around the world. Our hearts go out to all who have lost loved ones, in the Caribbean and Mexico. We intercede for all who are displaced and will need to rebuild their homes and communities. We pray that everyone affected will know the comfort of the Holy Spirit at this time.

God Is Not Like Man – He Really Cares About You

Have you ever felt like God didn’t care about you? Like He didn’t hear you or know what you were going through? Perhaps you’ve imagined God so far away in the Heavens that He can’t possibly know you –He’s too busy to notice you amongst all His people. Maybe you’re going through an intense trial and you think God has forgotten you in the midst of it? Everything seems so dark and hopeless that you presume He’s picked up and left you in your distress! He has not. He cares.

At one point or another, we’ve all struggled with this. We’ve found it difficult to believe that God, the mighty Lord, actually cares for us in our worst moments. And of course, we’ve gone through trying seasons where we thought the Lord had abandoned us. But I think our problem is that we think that God, our Heavenly Father, is like man. Man rejects, forgets, cheats, lies, steals, and abuses his fellow man.  We see this everyday in our world, and even experience it at times. Hence, it’s understandable that we would write God off as the same. Yet the Lord is not like man. Not at all.

Our Heavenly Father always loves us. He does not, and will not forget or forsake His children and it’s time we start refuting the lies that bombard us and start taking Him at His word!

“The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

God sees you. He watches over you when you don’t know or even think He does. I can remember one time years ago when I was praying: I had a vision in which I was taken above the earth. I saw the earth and then I saw the city of Heaven. There was no comparison between the size of the earth and the length of Heaven – Earth was very small. Suddenly I saw a pair of feet resting on the earth. I could not move for I knew that those were the Lord’s feet – He was there, behind me.

I turned, my eyes slowly trailing from His feet to His torso, and finally resting on His face. I saw the Father and if I thought Heaven was big – because it is – God was even greater. How could Heaven even contain Him? Seeing how enormous He was next to the Heavens and then next to the earth, I looked down at myself and realized how very small I was. If the earth was God’s footstool, then I was very small to God, for the earth is greater than I am. But then God showed me something wonderful – I looked below me and saw the earth, and in the midst of it was a tiny dot. His great wonder was this: even with how big He is, how great His Heavens are, and how big earth is compared to its inhabitants, He saw that tiny dot. And when that tiny dot cried out to Him from the small earth, He heard it, and even within the greatness of Heaven, that cry came to His ears. He knew the rising and the settings of this dot; He heard its thoughts and knew exactly where it was at all times. He loved that tiny dot and that tiny dot was me.

“I see you,” He told me.

And beloved, He sees you just the same. He did not forget you – you are the apple of His eye, the joy of His heart, the lover of His soul. Don’t doubt this. Believe that God sees, knows, and cares for you. He will never leave you nor forsake you!

“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” (Isaiah 49:15-16)
