A teenage boy learned a very valuable lesson after experiencing an encounter in heaven.

Teenage Boy

Tomi Arayomi grew up in a Christian family who loves to worship Jesus Christ. They even host a worship gathering with their community in their own garage in their home. When he was just 16, he had an unforgettable encounter with Jesus Christ! The young boy was talking with his friend about Jesus when Jesus opened his eyes to the truth of the cross.

“For the first time ever I understood the cross, not just the religious message, I mean God literally opened my eyes to see exactly why Jesus died for me.”

Encounter in Heaven

Suddenly, he felt the power of God rushing through his body. It is a power that he had never felt before. The next thing he knew was that he was taken to heaven.

“I’m in this huge Hall of just pure light, there were people from every nation, every color. Every tribe each one singing, chanting, and dressed in their native country colors. There was a huge banqueting table that disappeared into the distance of this Hall of brilliant light. Millions of people talking to your eardrums were vibrating under the torrent of their voices. I knew I was in heaven.”

Called to Serve

While at the table being served by butlers, he was frantic to find Jesus Christ. After asking some people he saw there, a man tapped his shoulders and pointed at the kitchen. Tomi then saw Jesus Christ dressed as a butler coming out from the kitchen, serving the people at the table. With a brilliant light coming out of Him, Jesus then spoke to Tomi.

“Son, do you see what I’m doing? Go back and do that for My people,” Jesus said to him.

Tomi was then back to his body where his friend was waiting for him. When he was about to pick the Bible up, his fingers landed on a page. He opened that page in the Bible and he was amazed at the verse he was reading.

“It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.” -Luke 12:37

We as Christians are called to serve others just like how Jesus served His people. Even before we were called to be pastors, teachers, and businessmen, we were all called to be servants.

“The greatest mastery is not mastering the prophetic or the pastoral, it’s mastering the service.”

A seminarian studying to become an eastern catholic priest encounters the Lord and receives healing.

Joel Tenney grew up in a family of 17 who attends an eastern catholic church. During her younger years, he serves as an altar boy in a Latin church in Iowa. Because of his speech impediment, he has always been bullied regularly by the kids in his school. When he was 13, he cried out to God in desperation after getting beaten up in a park near his house.

“God, I cannot do this anymore,” Joel said to God. “I need you, please if you heal me of this speech impediment, I will dedicate my life to you and dedicate my mouth to declaring Your truth.”

It was then that Joel encountered the Holy Spirit in a very powerful way. Right after saying that prayer, His presence fell upon Him.

“God came through, the only way I could describe it was like a wave of His presence came over me. I could feel a movement taking place in my mouth. So, I opened my mouth and began to say this prayer, a prayer that was all too familiar to my family, it’s one often spoken in the eastern catholic churches, it’s called the Jesus prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy upon me, a sinner.”

Encounter with God

It was at that moment that God physically touched him and healed him of his speech impediment. Joel knew that the Lord has a plan for his life. As his response to God, he became a seminarian to become an eastern catholic priest. A few years into his study, he felt a conviction from the Lord saying that his calling was not into the priesthood.

“That day, I committed myself to Jesus Christ. There was no evangelist, there was no altar call, it was simply the word of God which is sharper than a double-edged sword, sharp enough to cut through bone and marrow, it cut straight to my heart… The Holy Spirit convicted me of my sin and convicted me that I needed the Lord over my life and that Lord is Jesus.”

Today, he is now a father of four, a Bible teacher, an evangelist, and serves many nations as a missionary. Joel left his past life and became a follower of Jesus Christ.

Jesus encountered a prophet and taught him a significant lesson about the use of our hands.

Larry Randolph is an author and a prophet who came from three generations of prophets. He grew up in the pulpit and started preaching at the age of six. In an interview with Sid Roth’s “It’s Supernatural,” Larry shares one of the most unforgettable encounters he had with Jesus Christ. And it was during that encounter that he learned a lot about human hands.

One night in 1974, when he was still a young man pastoring a church, he woke up to someone walking beside his bedroom window. He immediately knew it was Jesus because of how his presence radiated the entire room.

“I heard the noise of someone walking beside my bedroom window. As this noise turned to a  corner, I realized that it was a divine being because the presence was incredible and the awe was incredible and it was Jesus… [He] began to radiate the most incredible love I’ve ever experienced in my life,” Larry recalled.

Use of our hands

In an instant, the tangible love of Jesus became a haze over his room. And then suddenly, Jesus spoke to Larry. Jesus asked him to look at his hands and He quoted a Scripture from the beloved King David in Psalms.

“He said to me, ‘Look at your hands.’ And I looked at my hands and… He said to me, ‘You are fearfully, awesomely, and wonderfully made. You’re one of a kind, you’re an extraordinary human being, there’s none like you. I made you just as you are and I love you unconditionally. You have a divine purpose that no one else could do, you have a gifting.”

It was during that encounter that Jesus healed Larry of his timidity and gave him a purpose for his life. It was also during that moment that Jesus taught him what the purpose of our hands is. Our hands are the extension of Jesus Christ here on earth.

“I put your hands on your arms because your hands are an extension of Me. I’m not in this physical world now, you are. You are My hands extended. I never want you to shove with your hands or push with your hands, hit someone with your hands, or push people away with your hands. Your hands are made for healing, your hands are made to embrace, to affirm people, to touch people, to minister to people, to encourage people.”

Minister from Love

Larry also learned that night that we ought not to focus on the giftings, but on the love of Jesus Christ. His love is bigger than the gifts and anointings we have received. As followers of Jesus Christ, we should minister to everyone out of and from love and not from the gift.

Encountering The Reality Of God

The love and goodness of God is not simply a concept or just a Biblical truth, but is available to be our daily reality, our experience and our delight. When this revelation becomes ‘heart knowledge’ as opposed to simply head knowledge everything changes.

Being overshadowed by the goodness and presence of God for real, leaves us ruined (in a good way!) for anything less. To encounter intimacy with Jesus is to be left breathless. Jesus you take my breath away!

Encountering God Is For Everyone  

Read the following excerpts from Psalms 138 & 139 out loud. Let the enormity of the love of God saturate you mind and heart.

“[God] You are so intimately aware of me Lord and you read my heart like an open book.

[Father] perceive every movement of my spirit and see every thought before it even enters my mind.

[God] formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside. 

You wove them all together in my mother’s womb.

I thank you God for creating me so mysteriously complex – it’s breathtaking!

How thoroughly you know me Lord!

You formed every part of me in the secret place, carefully and skillfully shaping me from nothing to something.

You saw who you created me to be before I became me.

By your power in me I can walk through devastation and you revive me. 

You are in my past, my present and my future whether I’m aware of it or not.

O God your thoughts of love towards me are more than the grains of sand on every beach.   

It amazes me to meditate on these things!”

You were created to uniquely display the essence of your creator and your arrival on earth was timed to the second by Father God – you are not an accident, not an orphan, not insignificant or without purpose.

Let God show you how precious, significant, valuable and chosen you are!

3 Practical Keys For Having An Encounter With God

Are you ready to STRENGTHEN your connection with God? Do you want to HEAR God’s voice more clearly? Are you ready to encounter MORE of the supernatural?

These three practical keys are keys I’ve discovered in my own personal encounter journey. They have help me access more of the supernatural and I believe will offer helpful insight that I believe will deepen your encounter experience and grow intimacy during your times with God. I know they have for me!

Keys for having and encounter with God

Discernment

Philippians 1:9-10 – And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ 

To encounter God’s presence requires discernment.  We must be able to discern between pure and impure, truth and lies. Jesus, the Word of God, and Holy Spirit, our Counselor and Guide, lead us into all truth and give us the knowledge and ability to discern good from evil.  Will you partner with the Word of God and the Spirit of God to encounter Him and to become an encounter for others?

Imagination

Ephesians 3:20-21 – Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

To encounter God’s presence requires using our imagination. We must belive that His power is at work within us as we “ask and imagine“. We must trust that we have been given the mind of Christ. Will you allow Him to encounter you with His power and love through your imagination?

Trust

Jeremiah 17:7-8 – But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

To encounter God’s presence requires trust.  We must have confidence that God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit want to spend time with us.  As we trust we become rooted like the tree planted by the stream and our trust leads to blessing. Will you choose to send your roots into the stream of His presence and be nourished for producing Kingdom fruit?

My prayer for you

I’m declaring that as you utilize these keys, God will encounter you in ways that are specific for  you…your desires, wants, and needs. I want to encourage, inspire, activate, equip, and empower you to be the best YOU!

Learning To Hear His Voice

God is always speaking which makes it possible to hear God’s word for today, each and every day. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know”.  Here is a promise from God that when we call, He will answer.  It doesn’t say “I may answer” or “I will try to answer” it says, “I will answer”.  If we believe this promise that God will answer us when we call out to Him how can we hear God’s word for today? Spending time in the presence of God for the purpose of encountering Him is how we can hear God’s word for today.

Reading the Word of God

The Bible is more than a book.  We are spending time with Jesus Himself.  John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”.  John 1:14 continues to reveal, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us…”.  Jesus is the Word of God.  When we read the Word of God, we are spending time with a person, not a book.

The revelations we receive from the Bible are one way to hear God’s word for today.  When we remember that the Bible is a person it is easier to approach our time spent through the lens of relationship.  Each word, chapter, and book of the bible written becomes a conversation.  I challenge you to begin your time with the Word of God by asking the question “God what is Your word for today?” and then read with expectancy that He will answer.

Encounters

Let’s try it first.

Close your eyes and picture Jesus.

Once you see Jesus ask Him out loud, “Jesus, what do you want to share with me today?”

Take a moment and listen for His answer.

What did He say?

Whatever Jesus shared with you is God’s word for today. It’s really that simple.  He died so we could be in relationship with Him.  He wants to be with us, He loves us, and He wants to speak to us.  We just have to set aside the time and then be patient enough to listen.

Testimonies

Have you ever been talking to a friend or in a small group and someone shares something that is exactly what you needed to hear?  Revelation 19:10 says, “…the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” and the gift of prophecy is for comforting, encouraging, and strengthening.  When a testimony is shared it’s inviting God to do what He has already done again. Testimonies are a great way to hear God’s word for today because they show us what is possible.

Hebrews 13:8 reminds us that God is the same, “yesterday, today and forever”.  He does not change.  The One who spoke light into existence is still speaking today and He wants to share His heart with you and me.

Here His heart for you in this moment…

Beloved,  

You are worthy of My love.  I desire to spend intimate time with you.  I want to know you and be known by you.  I want to unravel the mystery of My Kingdom and show you all I have planned for you. 

You are not without value.  You are not without purpose.  You are not without hope.  Come to Me. Call to Me.  Seek Me.  I promise that as you come, I will draw near, that as you call I will answer, and that as you seek you will find.  I AM not hiding things from you, but rather hiding things for you.   

I want to discover and uncover mystery and revelations with you, in relationship – together. Together is My hearts cry.  I couldn’t bear to be separated from you for eternity and that is why I have made a Way through My son, Jesus. 

Believe and receive all that I have for you.  This is God’s word for today.  Come each and every day that I might love you more!

Fishing Captain Lost At Sea For Hours Encounters The Holy Spirit

A fishing captain who had been lost at the sea for hours encountered the Holy Spirit just when he was about to commit suicide.

Fishing Captain

In an interview with Prayerlink, Captain Johnny Savage from Virginia recounts the moment God saved his life while he was lost at sea over two decades ago. He was a 27-year-old first mate when that life-changing moment happened.

Nearly 24 years ago, Johnny and Captain Eric Bingham decided to go on a 350-mile trip from Key West, Florida to Cancun, Mexico. They were sailing on their 56-foot fishing boat called Anhinga. Hours after their voyage, they encountered a storm in the middle of the Gulf Stream, a massive wave tore their boat in two.

“We looked in front of us; it was like nothing I’ve ever seen before in my life,” Johnny recalled. “It was like a hole. We were in a two-to-three-foot sea when the Anhinga went off this edge and went down into this, this rogue wave, the whole boat fell into it.”

Lost at Sea

All their life-saving equipment drowned in the sea together with their boat and no one knew that they were there. The two fishermen had to cling to a broken surfboard to save their lives. After being lost for 12 hours, Johnny decided to end his life.

“I got to the point where I had made a decision that drowning would be better than getting ripped apart by sharks. So, I had planned my death,” he explained.

However, right before he did it, he encountered the Holy Spirit right then and there.

“And so, I had taken my life jacket off,” Savage explained. “And I was in the process of going under, and suddenly, the greatest feeling of warmth and just strength. Power just overcame my whole body.”

“At that moment, I knew He was real, and He was with me because it was impossible for me to have the strength to get back to Eric,” he added. “The overwhelming feeling of warmth was not me, and I knew He is real.”

God saved Johnny from committing suicide. Moments after that supernatural encounter, a 72-foot fishing boat saw them and rescued them. Captain Johnny details their experience in his new book, “Lost in the Stream: The Miraculous Story of Two Fishermen Lost At Sea.”

A pastor struggling with anxiety and depression tried to commit suicide, then God embraced her at that moment, and her razor suddenly dropped.

Anxiety Attack

In 2013, Morgan Hart became a children’s pastor in their church. Everything was going well in her life when one day, she suddenly felt a “rushing feeling of complete loss of control and anxiety.” Her vision also got blurry for several minutes. She didn’t tell any family members about what happened. So, she silently suffered from episodes of panic attacks.

Later on, doctors diagnosed Morgan with anxiety. She kept her struggle a secret for two years as she felt ashamed and disappointed with herself. By this time, her anxiety had worsened, and she had become depressed. But she still didn’t tell anyone about it and showed up at church on Sundays.

Trying To Commit Suicide

One day, Morgan reached her breaking point and thought of ending her life. She didn’t want to become a burden to her loved ones and thought they would be better off without her. So, she took her razor and went to the bathroom to end her life.

“God, where are you? I need You right now. If You do not come, I’m going to take my life and let my family go on without having to deal with me,” she desperately cried out.

As Morgan ran the razor through her skin, a warmth suddenly came to embrace her. She dropped the razor as she felt God’s presence hugging her tangibly. So, she began crying and weeping, overwhelmed by God’s love.

Following that powerful encounter with God in the bathroom, Morgan’s heart was changed. She then opened up to her husband, Anthony, for the first time, and it began to set her free. Anthony walked with her throughout her battle against anxiety and depression.

One night, God gave Morgan a vision through a dream. That dream shifted everything for her. Watch what happened.

It’s rare for teenagers nowadays to take their relationship with God seriously. Due to peer pressure, most of them are trapped in settling for less. Oftentimes they would rather have fun than make time for God. But this is not the case for the 15-year-old Landon Johnson and his 14-year-old best friend.

Teenage Boy Hungry For Jesus

In a video shared by SeekingWisdom Ministries, Landon and his best friend joined the adults in a gathering of believers. Then he laid hands on his best friend whom the caption described as someone who is “Hungry For JESUS!”

While laying his hands and closing his eyes, Landon genuinely prayed along with other believers who laid hands on his best friend as well. He told God, “He’s been hungry for so long. And he’s so on fire for You, Lord. I ask You, just fill Him with Your Spirit, Lord. Open his heart to be more like You..”

Holy Spirit Moves!

Shortly after, he prayed while in tears. He thanked God, believing that the Spirit of God would touch his best friend. Then indeed, God showed up! The Holy Spirit filled Landon’s best friend. The best friend started to sob until he lifted both of his hands up for God.

After that encounter with God, Landon himself baptized his best friend in the water. He baptized him in the swimming pool, in the same place where they have gathered.

When asked how he felt after the baptism, the best friend said he felt like “a whole new person.”

Colton, the man who took the video quoted 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Now, this is childlike faith!

Brandon grew up in a home filled with trouble. Both his parents partied, and his dad beat him. He never felt love nor acceptance in his home. As a result, he turned to the streets to find it and joined a gang where he thought he belonged. As young as 12-years-old, Brandon was already doing drugs. The teen then lived his life as a gangster, because he found fulfillment in it.

But after Brandon met Tara, he pursued her. However, after Tara got pregnant, the 15-year-old went back to his old life, even with a child. He didn’t slow down and kept partying. What’s more, his gang life turned him into a violent drug dealer. His delusional sense of pride led his life on a downward path. He also aimed to become a hitman or a kingpin.

Hearing God’s Voice

Consequently, Brandon went in and out of jail. Until it came to the point when he faced a serious prison sentence for a gun charge. And that’s when God got his attention and spoke to him in jail.

Amidst the mess he created in his life, Brandon wondered inside the jail. He felt sorry for himself for what he was doing with his life. Then he suddenly heard God’s voice and felt love surrounding him.

“Are you going to go left or right? This is time. If you don’t serve Me, I’m going to let you go. To let you do what you want to do,” God told Brandon.

The gangbanger cried and responded, “Lord, I’m here. I will serve You!”

Soon after, Brandon shared his encounter with God with his wife. And miraculously, authorities threw his gun charge out of court. By then, he caught for the Lord and went to church. There, he raised his hands and invited Jesus in his heart. Since then, he was never the same again.
