Are you pleasing Jesus or pleasing the world?
In an episode of The Cry with host Rev. Betty King, Gavin Calver, CEO of Evangelical Alliance shared a message about standing firm in God. In different parts of the world today, many Christians are being persecuted because of being followers of Christ.
Many Christians are being killed, jailed, and threatened, but one thing is still true, that Jesus is on the throne! Just like Jesus freed Peter when he was in prision, Jesus is fighting for those who stand firmly in His name. But we must remember that there’s always a price to pay when we advance the Kingdom of God.
“Jesus, when He gets hold of you, no weapon formed against you is more significant than keeping King Jesus knowing that you’re sharing the message. We’ve lost something, we expect that kind of Christianity without the cost,” Gavin said. “But what I love about it is: miraculous work of God, passionate proclamation of the Gospel, the authorities try to stop you, they can’t, Jesus wins.”
As a follower of Christ, we must make a firm decision to follow Him and not the world. Let us ask ourselves this question, “Am I pleasing my Jesus or pleasing my world?”
“We stand firmly on God’s Word,” he urged everyone. “We do not change the Bible to fit our culture, we change our culture with the truth in the Word of God.”
How can we advance the Kingdom of God in the world? Gavin shared two things that we can start doing to see revival.
- A mighty move of prayer.
- Small acts of obedience of the people of God.
Let’s start by praying. Our prayer for revival is more powerful than any activity we do. We also need to obey the Lord. Make the decision to stand out and follow the Lord and not the ways of the world.
