“I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.” (Proverbs 24:30-34)
Check Your Diligence
Consider the field of the slothful, it’s covered with thorns. Are you pursing everything that God has called you to do? Are you executing in the vision that God has laid out for you? Have you made the vision plain for others to follow? The thorns in slothful man’s field represent represent the stagnation and inconsistency of the affairs of his household. The slothful man did not consider and did not pay close attention to the details of his house and soon the stone wall was broken down. The wall that was meant for financial, emotional, mental and physical protection soon crumbled due to the neglect of the slothful. The field that was given to you as territory for you and your family to occupy will soon erode if you don’t take proper authority both the natural and spiritual over your affairs. Men, it’s up to you to choose whether your house will be a house of excellence or a house covered with thorns.
The Nettles Will Block Your Destiny
The slothful affairs are filled with weeds. Whether it financial, spiritual or emotional the slothful’s vision is unclear and unkept. When your vision is unclear it’s hard for others to follow, even those in your household. The nettles in Proverbs 24:31 were overgrown weeds. Identify the overgrown “weeds” habits in your life and allow God to pluck up them up and walk in your Destiny. You can’t fully embrace your calling without fully identifying what’s entangling your path. Choose to cut the entanglement of the past and walk freely into your future. Receive Christ with your whole heart.
Be Not Entangled
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)
It is your choice to stay stuck or be free in Christ. Choose not to go back into the bondage of your past. Don’t let the thorns or weeds of the past enslave your future. Turn to Christ. Be free. Execute. Repent for slothful behavior.
