A Filipino Pastor stopping over for a checkpoint prayed for the police officer on duty who asked him to pray before leaving.
Police Officers
Since the coronavirus pandemic has hit the Philippines, police officers are standing on the frontlines on the battle. The country’s armed forces are stationed in every city across the nation in an attempt to stop the virus from spreading. They stop every person traveling and conduct a quick assessment of whether that person could be a potential carrier of the virus or not.
Not only are the medical workers at high-risk to contaminate the virus, but the police officers are also at risk. However, they are selflessly fighting against coronavirus for the safety of their countrymen.
Filipino Pastor
Recently, a police officer on duty happened to stop a pastor driving through the checkpoint where he is stationed. Upon finding out that he was a pastor, he immediately asked for prayer. It was such a moving moment.
“Are you a pastor? Can I ask a favor, would please pray for me before you go? I’m sergeant Robia, I need prayers,” the police officer said.
Pastor Ernie Gequilan of the United Pentecostal Church – Cebu Evangelism Center, is the pastor on the trending Facebook post. His wife Orlyn narrated what happened during that moment in a Facebook post alongside the picture of Ptr. Ernie and Sgt. Robia.
Prayer
So without hesitation, the Filipino pastor prayed for him. It was a small yet powerful gesture to honor those who are in the frontlines of this battle against coronavirus. They need our prayers, especially during these trying times.
“Sometimes we see people that they are fine, but we don’t know that there’s an emptiness in their heart they need God and are thirsty for God. It’s harvest time, we should be always available for His kingdom,” Orlyn continued.
