God’s Word For You Today: You Are Forgiven

Today’s verses

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

so great is his love for those who fear him;

so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

¹³As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;” (Psalm 103:11-13)

““I, even I, am he who blots out
your transgressions, for my own sake,
and remembers your sins no more.” (Isaiah 43:25)

Today’s message

God sees the entirety of your life from beginning to end. There is not a day, moment, or circumstance that He misses about you. Wonderfully, his great love stretches beyond what we can comprehend. It goes further than our minds or imaginations could ever reach. He chooses us, and sees us clean, washed of all our iniquities, because of what Jesus did. Becoming our sin, the one who knew no sin, Christ bore for us what we never could have bore on our own. He saved us. Not only saved, but cleansed us of all unrighteousness! Brother or sister, you are washed white as snow. God sees you are redeemed, worthy, forgiven, cherished. You are his son or daughter. Bought at the highest price imaginable. If you are struggling with thoughts that speak harsh, poor, or from shame or guilt–this is not the voice of the Lord! God is eager to correct us as children, but never by assaulting our identity. Jesus provides us with our identity. Let the truth of God’s word shine on you like the sun today: you are forgiven. You have permission to release yourself from the grip of unforgiveness. Just as God forgives you, now you get to forgive yourself.

Moving Forward In Repentance

One of my favorite, or probably the favorite modern revivalist of mine is Randy Clark. I have read about this guy over and over and over, and everything that he’s been through in life, the things he’s seen happen and his story just continues to inspire me every time, whether I’ve heard it once before or not.

Whenever he was growing up, he hit every obstacle or battle you can think of. He found the Lord because of his praying grandma. But then he ran away from the Lord for eight months or nine months because of drugs. Then he was in this horrible car accident where he was badly injured and then his best friend died, and then he had this miraculous healing.

So he is set up for this immaculate journey with God the rest of his life at the age of like 19 or 20. And then everything crashes down again. He tried to go to college and seminary, but he was in a bad marriage that ended in divorce. And then when that happened, he couldn’t even get into seminary because he wasn’t remarried yet. Like everything happened to him. But then he started seeing God move in his life. And one of the things that he kept on saying is that, “If God can use little old me, he can use little old you.” And that phrase has just totally rocked my world.

If you think back to Moses, when he was wrestling with God at the burning bush and God’s saying, “I am going to send you to save my people in Egypt,” Moses is like, “No, I can’t do it. I’m not the right one. I’m not as eloquent. I don’t have the the leadership skills or anything else.” And God’s like, “I will put Aaron to help you and enable you to be the leader I’m calling you to be.”

And there is this weapon of repentance, this Kingdom weapon of repentance that we can use and we should be using when we realize that we have put a filter, or we have tried to control the outcome, when really it’s God’s job to control the outcome. And when we realize that the calling of our lives is not only our job to fulfill, we just have to be obedient to what God is telling us to, then we can repent. In the moment we repent, that is a weapon that becomes an enabler for God to move even deeper in our lives.

And so it doesn’t matter the obstacles that can happen. As soon as we repent, as soon as we can tell God, “Yes, you can use little old me,” then He will actually blow your mind with what you can do. In the case of Randy Clark, when he started putting down his own walls, his own ability to control things, his own ability to manage what’s happening, the Holy Spirit rocked him. And in that place, he jumped on a plane, went to Toronto, and the Toronto blessing that unfolded has now impacted generations of millions and millions of people.

So my encouragement to you is, don’t allow yourself to put any control, any filter, any limitation on how God can use you. And if you do, repent. Use that Kingdom weapon of repentance and let God pour back into you, and hit the reset button, and go forward.

So today I want to pray that God will rock your world in a way that you would never, never believe, and that He would allow your repentance, your yes, to unlock the promises that may be being held back in your life, because you think it’s up to you. It’s not up to you. You don’t have to worry about it. Let God handle it. God bless you.

Friend, there’s a heart, there’s a life, there’s a person, there’s a real person that needs to hear the good news of Jesus Christ at this very moment. Today, I appeal to you to join with us and become a media missionary. Sow financially into GOD TV, and let’s take this good news of Jesus to the ends of the earth. Forgiveness Breaks Strongholds

Hi guys, it’s me, Lindy-Ann Hopley from Beautiful Witness Ministries. And I wanna tell you about a word that I think we should use way more in the church. The F word…”Forgive.” Oh, somebody. Listen here. If you wanna be caught up, hook, line, and sinker by the enemy, you gotta harbor them unforgiveness. Okay? When we have unforgiveness in our heart, I’m telling you, it is like the eternal pimple on the inside that is just oozing out. And you do not want that. Believe me. I watch so many people grab onto unforgiveness and they’re holding it in. And guess what? It comes out on everyone else around it.

I’ve seen it in my own life. I remember one time, I was so irritated with everyone, and at one point I was like, “God, what’s wrong with me? Like, what’s going on?” He’s like, “You’ve got unforgiveness.” And it literally is like a seed that gets planted and suddenly these little fruit pops out and it’s like, What’s going on? And I just say, “God, who do I need to forgive?” And He was like, “Your grandma. She called you ‘fat’ at the Christmas table.” I was like, “She did.” And it’s so small and it’s so basic and it’s things that you think, well everyone kind of says that kind of stuff. But you know, it can lodge in us and it can create a problem.

So I wanna encourage you today, if you are seeing fruit popping up in your life’s, especially if it’s a recurring one, sometimes it really is to do with one little seed and one little place of unforgiveness that we’ve gotta take care of. And I simply sit with the Lord and I say, “God, who do I need to forgive?” I don’t think about it, because often, especially as Christians, we got no problems. Mm-hmm, innocent, guilt-free. Yay. But actually, when we sit with the Father, He’ll say, “You know what? You actually still have unforgiveness here.”

So just take a moment and ask Him, “God, is there someone I need to forgive?” And He’ll show you. And maybe you say, “Man, I can’t forgive them.” I was just encouraging a friend recently and he was telling me, “Well I actually want them dead.” And I was like, Okay. We actually also can get caught up in a stronghold of unforgiveness where we actually have to say, “God, I ask you to bind up the strong man of unforgiveness, hatred, and bitterness.”

And I speak that over you right now. If that’s you, we take authority over those demonic principalities trying to ensnare you. And it’s time to use the F word against the devil and say, “Forgive.” ‘Cause when you forgive, guess what? It’ll totally dislodge him and all his authority on your life. And just say, “God, I choose to forgive those people. I release them now.” And maybe it’s gonna come up again and again. But I wanna encourage you. Don’t stop until that word is in full motion and action and you know that you have forgiven and you are free. Freely we have received forgiveness and freely we give it. We don’t deserve it. Neither do they. But we give it as a gift of grace as our Lord and Savior did. I love you and I forgive you. God bless you from me, Lindy-Ann. Bye bye.

God Has Forgiven And Forgotten Your Past

God is so good that He does not harbour any ill feelings towards us. He is so large and can deal with any offence made against Him. His love is immeasurable and can absorb all the evil in the world. This is what He did when He sent Jesus to die on the Cross for the sins of the world. In one event He cancelled the sins of the world. This is how big our God is. He remembers our sins no more. Yet we continue to live as if our sins are not forgiven. We carry the burdens of our sinful past as if they are still present. What a sorry state this is!

Present

We must now forgive ourselves and forget our past. This is easily said then done. We are reminded each day of our failures and weaknesses. The devil will remind us of our sinful past. However God has a different word and His word is final. He says take my yoke for it is easy and light. Burdens are lifted at Calvary. Yet we prefer to carry our own burdens than let it go. Many are laden with heavy burdens. God is calling us to let go and let Him carry our burdens.

Future

By faith we can come to Him and let go of our burdens. We must daily repent of any sins committed and let them go. This is the only way to live an abundant life. God’s word is truth and He does not lie. We must believe His word and not the opinions of man. This is the only way to walk in victory. Today let go of your burdens and enjoy the freedom of life in Spirit.

Amidst Wilson’s struggle, he was also constantly praying to God to help him overcome his addiction. Finally, at one point, the husband confessed to his wife, and she forgave him. He then joined a men’s sexual accountability group at his church. But despite it all, Wilson still had a fear of opening up about everything and wasn’t being honest.

Meanwhile, Meg, his wife, consistently prayed for her husband. And she thought their problems were solved. But a time came when her husband’s addiction spiraled to the point that Wilson moved beyond pornography, and she didn’t know.

Wilson got involved with an affair during one of his business trips. As a result, he felt horrible and began to be in despair. Wilson cried out to God, and the Lord opened his eyes to the real issue of his heart. God began to speak to him, telling him to confess everything to his wife or he will die. Then what happened next almost broke their marriage. But God had something else in mind.

An abortion survivor chooses to forgive her biological mother and meets her 30 years later to tell her she is forgiven.

Melissa Ohden’s birth mother went through a saline infusion abortion in 1977. The procedure involved injecting a toxic salt solution into the womb to poison the baby inside. The doctor expected the mother to deliver a dead baby. But miraculously, Melissa was born alive and struggling. Doctors didn’t believe she would survive because of severe the respiratory and liver problems and seizures she was experiencing. They thought that she would suffer from multiple disabilities if she survived.

But God had a plan for Melissa’s life! Despite her condition, a Christian couple chose to adopt her. The hand of God was with her during the early part of her life.

“My parents were just very faithful people who knew that they were called to be my parents,” Melissa said.

At 14-years-old, she learned that the story of her birth. Discovering the truth led her to a downward path. More so, it impacted her relationship with God, and she became angry. She felt lost and didn’t know who she was anymore. The abortion survivor turned to alcohol abuse, poor dating relationships, and an eating disorder until she decided to forgive her biological parents.

Melissa realized that the journey to forgiveness is not a one-time, big event. It’s a decision one has to make every day.

One day, she decided to look for her birth parents to let them know she had forgiven them. Thirty years later, Melissa finally met her biological mom and discovered a truth she never learned. What happened next was a very emotional moment.

Woman Finds Healing Through GOD TV After Surviving Being Stabbed 76 Times

A woman, through inspiration on GOD TV programming, was able to forgive the man that stabbed her 76 times. The woman, who will remain anonymous for protection, had recently moved to Capetown from Johannesburg. Her husband felt their family would be safer there.

A a young girl she had accepted Christ, but until she became pregnant for the first time she was not really walking with God. Once she became a parent she decided to get serious about her relationship with God and found a new church.

She began learning about her identity in Christ through a course called Soulcare. One thing that stuck with her from the most was ‘innocent blood cries out to God’ – she did not know at this point how God was preparing her for what would later happen to her.

The Attack

The woman was a swimming instructor and loved keeping her garden in beautiful condition for her students to enjoy. Maintaining the garden was a lot of work so she hired a young man to help.

One Tuesday morning the young man called and scheduled to work on Friday and she agreed. God was watching out for her because she had been asked to host the prayer meeting for her Church that same day.

The young man arrived early Friday morning, so early that the woman and her daughter were not even awake yet. She ask him to wait and took her daughter to nursery. When she returned they had tea before before getting started, but for some reason the woman felt uncomfortable but didn’t know why. Additionally, she had parked her car out the front of the house instead of parking in the garage as she had always done.

They started working on a new flower bed in the front of the house when the wind started to pick up. The woman went inside to get a scarf which she wrapped tightly around her neck to protect herself from the wind.

The doorbell rang and when she opened the door the young man forced her back into the house with a knife. He locked the door and began stabbing her multiple times. She said she felt no pain and kept crying out “stop in Jesus’ name”. He continued to assault her while she continued crying out to Jesus. Eventually, he shouted at her to stop.

Left To Die

During the attack her spinal cord was severed which caused paralysis on her right side , to the point she could not even move. As she lay there fully conscious, she reports feeling no pain. The young man left through the back door after washing the dishes he had touched that morning during tea. He also tried to wipe any other prints that were in the house, so there would be no trace of him.

The woman wrote his name in her blood on the wall, remembering that phrase for the study, ‘innocent blood cries out to God’. Her phone rang but she could not answer it. The prayer group leader was calling to cancel the prayer meeting. The woman lay there asking God to look after her daughter.

A few minutes later she heard a car coming down the hill. The prayer group leader knocked on the door and the woman managed to tell her to the back door. As soon as her friend discovered the situation she began to speak in tongues and praying for healing.

The prayer group leader called the woman’s husband and an ambulance. It as an hour before the ambulance arrived. When the medics arrived on the scene they asked who had put the shirt around the woman’s neck. It turns out that if the woman hadn’t been wearing the scarf she would have died.

The Recovery

She was rushed to the hospital were she was operated on. She was told after the surgery that she would never walk again. Three weeks later she was released from the hospital.

The woman decided in her heart that she would not hold a grudge toward the young man. For a year she would drive past the jail where he was incarcerated and pray for him. She was asking the Lord for a way to speak with him. Because of her faith, she made a conscious decision to choose to forgive him for what he had done.

Sentencing

At the court case the woman had to testify and recalled asking the young man to stop in Jesus’ name. During one of the breaks, a man approached her and told her and let her know there were the believers in the courtroom praying for her. As the case continued, the woman revealed that God had given her three bible verses for the young man and asked if she might be allowed to share them with him in a letter.

Her request was granted. As a result, the young man changed his plea from not guilty to guilty and finally admitted his wrong doing. the young man was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Redemption

Two years later, the young woman got to meet with her attacker, accompanied by the pastor. The woman took the opportunity to ask the young man if he wanted to know Jesus. She held his hand, and with the pastors, and they prayed together. It was at this point she knew she could walk away knowing the young man was no longer her concern, but God’s.

Soon after the encounter with the young man, the woman and her family moved to England. After moving, she found herself without a Church and struggling to find Christian fellowship. At her lowest point, she heard a worship song that ended with a promotion for GOD TV. She began watching and began to find the strength and encouragement she had been looking for.

In a recent interview with GOD TV, the woman shared, “I have no words to describe how finding GOD TV helped me. GOD TV is my Church and I did not feel at home until I found GOD TV.”

Have we been fleeing from God to escape punishment, when all we’ve been doing is eluding His rescue?

A story is told of a Minnesota radio station that reported about a stolen car in California. Police were staging an intense search for the vehicle and the driver. On the front seat of the stolen car sat a box of crackers that, unknown to the thief, were laced with poison to be used as rat bait. The police and the owner of the car were now more interested in apprehending the thief to save his life rather than to recover the car.

For too long, many of us have been fleeing from God in an attempt to escape His punishment, when in fact all we are actually doing is eluding His rescue. We all need saving, we’re driving about like lunatics in stolen cars with death sitting on the seat next to us. Sin has poisoned the human race from the beginning, the consequence of which is eternal death. We need to be apprehended, not because we’re criminals but because we need to be rescued; we need salvation.

The Gospel of Christ is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. The pure Gospel message is this: “if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:10)

God calls us to Repent

By the Holy Spirit, the prophet Jeremiah, called God’s people to repentance. The people of Judah and Israel had abandoned the basics of God’s Law and embraced the worship of foreign gods. Through Jeremiah, God was calling His people to return to the fundamental truths of His Word. Sadly, they refused and suffered the consequences of their rebellion.

This Jewish rebellion was indicative of the rebellion of all mankind. Consequently, by His love and grace, more than 600 years after the Jews returned to Jerusalem, God sent His only begotten Son as Messiah, to reconcile all mankind to God’s glorious righteousness. Indeed, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

For God made Him who had no sin, to be sin for us so that in Him, we might become the righteousness of God. And thus the Church of Christ was born. His Gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the gentile.

Sadly, through the ages, the fundamental purity of the Gospel has become distorted by popular opinion. In fact, right from the very end of the first century, man’s opinions and selfish ambition began to creep into the Church. Therefore, Jesus Himself, gave instructions to the main churches spread out in Asia Minor, via the last of His foundation apostles, John. To the Church in Sardis He instructed John to write:

“I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent.” (Revelation 3:2-3)

In this postmodern 21^st Century liberal society, Christian moral ethics and the Biblical absolutes have been so blurred by that same popular opinion that, even in the Church we have lost sight of the basics of our faith. Therefore, Body of Christ, we need to wake up, return to God and strengthen what remains.

Strengthen What Remains

We are seeking to strengthen our salvation today. Jesus is the source of our salvation. Therefore, let us return to Jesus. He is “the way, the truth and the life and there is no other path to the Father but by Him”. The result of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus, as the Son of God and Son of Man, is God incarnate. That is to say, the man Jesus is the embodiment of the eternal holy and absolutely righteous God.

You see, Jesus needed to be man (Son of Man) so that He could suffer temptation and physical death on our part. But, because Jesus is also God (Son of God), after He bore the consequence of our sin on the Cross, He rose from the dead. God made Jesus a sin offering so that in Him, if we admit to our sin and put our faith in Him, we could become the righteousness of God. God loved you and me so much in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus did it! Jesus reconciled us to the glory of God. Jesus made the way for our salvation. Today, strengthen what remains: your appreciation of salvation!

Gratitude for Salvation

God is calling us to strengthen what remains. Do you know Jesus? Have you confessed your sin and put your faith in Christ’s death and resurrection? Do you call Jesus Lord and Saviour? Then strengthen your understanding of the fundamentals of your salvation with gratitude to our loving Heavenly Father for making the way back to Him, though Jesus. God loved you and me so much that He sent His one and only begotten Son, that if we believe in Him we will have eternal life.

None of us can earn our salvation, because none of is qualified to match the standards of God’s perfect goodness. Therefore, let’s fall back on Jesus! Church isn’t our salvation. Worship isn’t our salvation. Good works aren’t our salvation. Giving money isn’t our salvation. Serving God isn’t our salvation. Watching Christian TV or reading Christian literature isn’t our salvation. Only Jesus is our salvation. So, let’s wake up and strengthen what remains; strengthen our gratitude for salvation through Jesus.

Do It Now!

Jesus said, “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

If you’ve never really given your heart to Jesus, do it now. If you’ve never really accepted your salvation by faith, come to Jesus now.

Pray with me…

Dear God, I’ve been driving around like a lunatic for too long, with death sitting on the seat right next to me. I realise today that I can’t do this in my own strength. Forgive me for clouding my walk with You by my own self-centred opinions and ambitions. Today, I humble myself and ask You to come into my life, dear Jesus. I confess and repent of all sin. I believe that You died and rose again so that I can be forgiven and cleansed. Today, Jesus, I put my faith in You; I give my life to You and declare You to be my personal Lord and saviour. Dear Lord, strengthen my appreciation of my salvation. Amen.

Accept Christ. Be Part of a Generation That’s Turning Their Hearts to God

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans‬ ‭10:9)‬‬

The Gospel is simple. Christ died for our sins and rose to set us free from the bondage of sin. That’s it. He was the only and ultimate sacrifice that could completely eradicate the sins of mankind. There was no sacrifice, no action, no atonement that could cover and completely eradicate our sins – Except through The Blood of Christ. It is through the Blood of Christ that we are free from the bondage and power of sin.

It is through Christ that we are washed clean and made whole in Him. In Him you are set free. In Christ, you are delivered from the stain of sin – when you accept Him. The entanglement of sin is broken in Christ. Jesus Christ – The Anointed One, breaks the yoke of every bondage. When you surrender to Christ every chain is shattered and has no power over you. It’s weight has no effect. In Christ you are free.

Entanglement Is A Choice

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians‬ ‭5:1)

When Christ has set you free, it’s your choice to accept the freedom that Christ has given or return into the bondage of your past. In Christ you are new. In Christ you are set free. Christ freely forgives. Christ sets you apart and remembers your sin no more, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”( Psalms‬ ‭103:12‬)‬‬. According to Proverbs‬ ‭26:11 when you pick up your your past sin and choose to entangle yourself in that bondage again, it’s “As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.” Are you choosing to willfully turn back to your old sin? Or are you seeking a new future in Christ? Choose Christ.

Swept Clean

“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.” (Matthew‬ ‭12:43-45)

Seek God and stay clean. God wants you to seek Him with all of your heart. He wants your whole heart. When God sweeps you clean from the old and puts His Spirit in you, it’s your choice to surrender and choose God’s way or return to your old way of doing things. Character is a choice. “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” (Psalms‬ ‭24:3-4‬)‬‬

Every hidden and dark place that God has cleaned out, decide to fill yourself with God’s Word faithfully. Be intentional to spending time with God and get filled up with with His Word and His Holy Spirit. When you neglect to feed yourself with God’s Word regularly your “spiritual immune system” starts to decay. When you are “spiritually malnourished”, You become exposed and vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy.

When you are spiritually lazy, you become like the man in Proverbs‬ ‭24:30-31‬: “I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.” When you Repent and turn your heart back to God, submitting to His Word and precepts, He protects the garden of your heart. When you allow His Word to prune out and pluck up any weeds or thorns that’s entangled in the ground of your heart, you’re allowing God to cultivate the ground of your heart. When you allow God’s Word to saturate the ground of your heart you’re actively allowing Him to prepare an environment that’s fertile and ready to produce His Fruit.

His Heart Requires My Submission

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” ‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭51:10)

When you repent the cycle of the past is broken and your new future in Christ starts. When God creates in you a clean heart, He transforms you completely. No matter of the mistakes of your past, God will transform you. He will clean you up and restore you into your rightful place. You are His Child. He wants to make you Whole and New in Him. He wants you to be more like Him. You belong to Him. When you walk with Him, surrendering your heart, you’ll become a reflection of His Love, Power, Integrity and Character. Follow Him and He will not lead you astray.

If you feel like you’re in a pit or a spiritual prison and you need God to unlock the doors and lift you out, pray this prayer:

Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I Thank You for sending your Son Jesus Christ to die for my sin. I repent of my sin. Father, I turn to You. Through Christ’s Blood I am forgiven and set free. Lord, I thank you for forgiving me and cleaning my heart to forever turn to You. In Jesus Name. Amen.
