Have you ever wondered who is the most important person in your life? Who will be there with you in your ups and downs right till the end? Most of us love our family members or friends. We care so much for them that we feel incomplete without that person. But the truth is nobody is here on earth forever. Parents and loved ones leave us some time or another. No one can be with us always. No one except God.
Formed by His Hands
The fact is that God knew us before we were conceived in our mother’s womb. Our parents only know us since birth, our siblings and friends came later. Do you know that God’s relationship with us is longer than our relationship with our parents?
Psalm 139:13,16 says, “For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother’s womb. Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book, all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.” God created each of us in a very special and unique way. We are so unique and are different even from our own siblings. We have a unique thumbprint that helps the authorities distinguish us from others.
Completely Known
There are times when we feel like no one understands us or cares for us. It is true that humanly no one can understand us completely. However, there is someone who knows us so completely that we don’t even have to explain ourselves to him. That person is God!
In Psalm 139:1-4 it is written, “O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me. You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off. You sift and search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.” This is the extent to which the Living God knows each one of us. He is an omniscient and omnipresent God.

Bask in God’s love – He loves you more than you know!
A Help in Troubled Times
Psalms 46:1 says, “God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble.” Everyone alive faces problems at some time or another. Many have experienced rejection and abandonment from others and faced trials in life. However, God stands with the child who puts his or her trust in Him. He never leaves them.
When Daniel was in the lion’s den, God was with him. When Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael were in the fiery furnace, God did not leave them there to die in the flames. He was with them. Psalm 91:14-16 says, “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never]. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.”
A Time to Everything
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 says, “To everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven: A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted.” No matter how much we love life, it is fleeting. Every single person who lived has had to die. Our life is finite and not infinite.
God gave us life. He put the breath in our nostrils. The truth is revealed in Job 34:14,15, “If [God] should set His heart upon him [man] and withdraw His [life-giving] spirit and His breath [from man] to Himself, All flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust.”
Ecclesiastes 12:7 also speaks about death, “Then shall the dust [out of which God made man’s body] return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God Who gave it.” There is a time when our life on earth will end and we will stand before God and give an account of how we lived this life. Our relationship with God extends to when we will no longer be alive on this earth.
Returning to the Father
Jesus said in John 16:28, “I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” Just as Jesus did we too will be going back to the Father after our time on earth. Jesus came to earth as a human to reconcile us with God, the Father. God sent Jesus “His Son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Each of us has to leave this earth someday. It might be a day that is close or a day that is far. Have you thought about your relationship with God the Father who created you and Jesus, His Son who came to reunite you with Him?
