Mall supermarket employees knelt down in prayer before starting their day amid the COVID-19 threat.
COVID-19 frontlines
What first comes to our minds when we talk about the frontlines during this COVID-19 battle are those medical professionals. But there are also those who front lines this battle that is oftentimes overlooked. Those are the people who are still serving the public despite the threat.
This includes the supermarket employees who are still serving the public’s daily needs. Just like the medical professionals, they also risk the threat of contracting the virus, yet they still choose to fight the battle.
Supermarket employees
On March 24, this group of supermarket employees were all on their knees in prayer before starting their day. Facebook user Daddy Gabby Bee – Kokong Bacarro uploaded some pictures of that touching moment.
“It is another day to face the battle and serve the public,” written on the caption of the photos. “Let us start this day with a prayer. Together, let us pray to the Lord that this ordeal will soon end. Let us pray for each other as we fight the COVID-19. And let us pray for the front lines across the globe that are sacrificing their lives for the sake of everyone else.”

They are the supermarket employees of Gaisano Mall Cagayan de Oro city in the Philippines. The country is among the 199 countries that have been affected by the pandemic.
The Philippines has now over 700 confirmed cases of COVID-19. To avoid further spreading of the virus, the country is now placed under a lockdown, which means only establishments that provide the public’s necessities are allowed to operate.
The concern on the coronavirus disease is clearly evident, however, these front liners are placing their trust in the Lord. They are confident that nothing is impossible for the Lord.
“To our Lord God, PROTECT US and Heal our World. We BELIEVE that NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE to YOU.”
