‘The Voice’ contestant DeAndre Nico recently stunned viewers with his worshipful performance. The 22-year-old from Texas had a face-off with Lynnea Moorer in the Live Top 11 Eliminations. Both sang for the Instant Save portion, fighting for the Top 10 spot. He sang the Gospel song, “Take Me to the King” that ultimately beat Lynnea’s “Tattooed Heart”. What’s more amazing is that he didn’t simply sing, DeAndre brought the audience to worship!
According to DeAndre’s website bio, he is the co-founder of the God Chasers Generation Outreach Ministries in Port Arthur. Their passion is to write songs for God and in 2015 he released a praise and worship single called “I Am Not Alone.”
DeAndre is passionate about sharing God’s love. These are his powerful lyrics to “I Am Not Alone”:
Truth is I’m tired / Options are few / I’m trying to pray / But where are you? / I’m all churched out Hurt and abused / I can’t fake/ What’s left to do?
The chorus really made me want to cry. You could clearly see how he was signing for an audience of One. You can really feel his heart for God when he started to sing:
Take me to the King / I don’t have much to bring / My heart’s torn into pieces / It’s my offering
“Does it feel right for this guy to go home? …He deserves to be in the finale!” Adam Levine commended him.

Watching this young man showcase his talent for the glory of God is heartwarming. The Lord has anointed DeAndre to be a witness of His love to a secular audience. For in such a way people will hear and believe and turn to him. God called us to go where the lost people are and bring them back.
“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18)
