The “Cinematic Crusade” led by Pastor Greg Laurie reported 16,000 people professed faith in Christ. The virtual event had 1.8 million viewers, breaking their own record for viewership.

The Harvest Christian Fellowship released an evangelistic film on Labor Day weekend entitled, “A Rush of Hope.” Apparently, the film is their annual Harvest Crusade. Because of the pandemic and social restrictions, they redesigned their crusade to meet today’s needs.

The megachurch pastor tackled the question of human existence during the event. “You exist to have a relationship with God,” he said. “There is nothing that this world offers that will fill a hole in your heart that was designed to be filled by God himself. There’s no drug, there’s no experience, there’s no possession, there’s no accomplishment, nothing.”

He went on, “Knowing Christ does not mean being an odd, religious person. It’s a friendship with God. That means you are never alone in life. Jesus promises ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you. Why do I exist? I exist to come into this relationship with God. And the meaning of life is to walk with Him and discover His plan that He has for me.”

Furthermore, the event featured three faith-filled movies with performances from Christian artists, including For King and Country, MercyMe, and Jeremy Camp. All of which streamed for free during Labor Day weekend.

“We want to go into markets where we’ve never been before, in the areas we’ve never visited before with this powerful message of the gospel,” Pastor Greg said.

Additionally, the cinematic crusade was deemed so successful that Pastor Greg posted on twitter sharing the good news. He tweeted, “We have a lot of bad news right now, I thought you could all use some good news!”

The coronavirus has infected more than 1.2 million people worldwide, including over 337,000 in the United States as of April 6. In Riverside county in California, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases hit 799. With the increasing number of positive cases in the county, different organizations, including churches, are taking part in helping the community.

Among those who reached out to help was Harvest Christian Fellowship Church, led by Pastor Greg Laurie. Riverside County health officials announced that the church will be offering drive-through COVID-19 testing. It is the county’s third drive-though testing center.

“Riverside County continues to offer more options for residents to get tested,” said Vice Chair Karen Spiegel, second district supervisor. “This third drive-up location will help ensure that those who have symptoms have options to get tested.”

Residents with symptoms such as fever or sore throat can receive COVID-19 testing. The Harvest Christian Fellowship testing center is located at 6115 Arlington Avenue in Riverside.

“Our hope is to reassure you that while we are doing everything we can to aid in combating the effects of COVID-19, the testing will be conducted outside in the patient’s vehicles. We want to be as helpful as we can during this difficult season and this opportunity is allowing us to do that. We love you, and we are praying for your safety and health always,” Harvest Christian Fellowship Church wrote on their Facebook page.

Many churches across the United States have also volunteered to host COVID-19 testing for their community.

Amid the global pandemic, God is still doing good things. People are stepping out of their comfort zones to help one another and countries are uniting to fight the coronavirus. God is truly turning what the enemy has meant for evil for good!
