Robert Hotchkin Explains How Our Unanswered Prayers Impact Other’s Lives

Christian minister and author Robert Hotchkin explained how our unanswered prayers are creating an impact on other people’s lives.

Robert has previously been in a 12 years health battle. He was so sick that he became so weak and shaky. All day long, he was ravished with fever and he couldn’t do anything, even standing up was hard for him. Years after years, he became weaker and sicker. For years, he has been praying and contending for his healing.

“I’m a man of faith so I was praying all along, declaring that I’m healed by Jesus’ stripes, declaring that He is the Lord who heals, laying hold of that truth of healing that we have through our Messiah Jesus. Yet, no matter what I did, I got sicker and sicker, weaker and weaker,” he said in a video interview with Supernatural Stories.

Unanswered Prayers

After several years of not experiencing the healing that he had been praying for, he felt discouraged, frustrated, and afraid. With his last straw of hope, he cried out to God. That’s when God took him into a heavenly experience that made him change his perspective.

Robert saw a vision of him coming home to heaven, in that vision he was healthy and strong. While he was walking with the Lord, he began to be greeted by strangers who are thanking him for their healing. He didn’t know any of those people, so he asked God what was happening.

“Every time you declared I am the Lord who heals, that word went forth and someone was touched,” God answered him.

Impact

It was his prayer and declaration for his own healing that healed those people. Though he did not see it, his prayers made an impact on other people’s lives for years. Robert learned in that vision that our declarations and prayers touch others.

“No matter what our circumstances are when we stand in faith and we declare the word, it always, always, always works and it always goes forth and has an impact.”

Even though we might be faced with hopeless situations, our faith in the Lord is creating a greater impact than we realize.

“Every time you stand on truth, every time you choose to believe the truth, every time you decree the Word, it goes forth and someone is touched.”

Kingdom of Heaven

Today, Robert is now a healthy man, traveling the world to preach the Gospel to people. The Lord has answered his prayers, not as soon as he wanted it to be, but at God’s right time. And in that process of trusting God, Robert has learned so much about His Kingdom.

Though our prayers might not be answered as how we want them to be, those prayers are not in vain. The Lord hears our prayers and it’s moving the heavens. Our prayers and declarations are having way more impact on the Kingdom of Heaven than we’ve ever realized.

Winning “Song of the Year” at the 2020 Dove Awards, Kari Jobe and Elevation Music’s “The Blessing” was one of the most impactful songs of the year.

It is easy to look at the influence this song has and question what God is doing in your life today. I want to encourage you to take captive any sort of thoughts like this. There is divine purpose in the life right in front of you today, whether you are receiving a Grammy Award for a top worship song or working a 9-5. As yourself, what kind of impact do I want to have? But don’t stop there. We get stuck on figuring how our lives will transform the earth, instead of focusing on why. The father wants all of the earth to experience His love and presence. Operating in our gifts as sons and daughters gives the opportunity for this to happen. Did you get that? You have the opportunity to bring God’s love to the earth. That is no small calling.

Impact Beyond Kari Jobe

God wants your gifts on display to the rest of the world. Do you have a song inside that is dying to get out? Maybe you have a gift of leadership, of friendship, or connection. Influence is so much more than singing, speaking, or dancing, though those are important. You possess the propensity to change your entire family because of how you love them. This might look like walking in radical, unoffendable forgiveness. Or, it might look like cooking them dinner each night. There is no limit to how God wants to transform the earth through you.

Here is a prayer and journal prompt for your week: God, how can I think more creatively about the ways you desire to change the world through me? Show me the areas in my life I can lead and impact generations to come.

Boy Leaves Meeting Carrying His Crutches: A Story Of Healing

Recently, Lindy-Ann and her team visited a high school in Parow, Cape Town. The atmosphere was absolutely electric. Before the program began, she met with some of the teachers. God healed a teacher who had been struggling with pain in her foot for years. She testified of her healing on stage and all of the kids were so excited!

During ministry time with the school, there was a boy on crutches. He was in so much pain that he couldn’t walk on his foot at all. She called him up on stage and asked him what scale of pain he was experiencing. He said 8/10 and that he hadn’t been able to walk on his foot. The kids had never seen a miracle but everyone was so excited to see what was going to happen that they were standing up on their chairs!

After Lindy-Ann prayed over him, his pain was gone and he was able to walk without crutches! She also prayed over the crowd of students and one by one, the kids got up to say, “my pain is also gone” – healing in necks, arms, legs, and stomachs. An entire school of more than 1000 kids made a choice for Jesus right after this!!

The Gospel is impacting a new generation! It is so exciting to anticipate what else God is going to do through this ministry.
