A 24-year-old woman from Philippines is battling a dangerous diagnosis of Lupus. Despite her condition, she stands in faith as she has seen the victories of God in her life.
Battling Lupus
Doctors diagnosed Gwendolyn Cortes with the systemic autoimmune disease, Lupus. Lupus occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. She first claimed her victory over the complications of the disease in 2012. But today, she once again holds onto Jehovah-Nissi, the God of victory.

Christel Berns Villaiza, Cortes’ friend, initiated a prayer movement over social media for Cortes’ fast healing. In a Facebook post, Villariza described Cortes as “bright, pure, cheerful, bubbly, loving and has an amazing heart for the LORD.”
“Her dream is to fufil the purposes of God for her life – to become a missionary. Greater things are yet to come in her life as she walks in the destiny Jesus has laid for her life. But recently, her dream was challenged,” she wrote.
“Today, despite her condition and what the doctors say, she is believing for God’s power to heal her. And we are all praying for a miracle. We know that Jesus already paid the price for Gwen’s miraculous healing 2,000 years ago.”

Standing Together in Prayer
Now, Villariza asks for prayers as they are claiming Jesus’ Word, “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven. For where two or three gather in My Name, there am I with them,” referencing from Matthew 18:19-20.
“[Pray] That every single cell in her body would be healed and Lupus will come out of her body in Jesus’ name. Please pray for her mental health as well as she is struggling with negativity due to the side effects of her various medicines,” she requested.
