Today’s Verse
“And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. 15 And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” 17 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. 18 For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” 19 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.” (Luke 22:14-20)
Today’s Message
Do you navigate your life in remembrance of Jesus? Imagine this moment with the disciples. Reclining yourself at the table, like Jesus. Holding onto each of the words He’s speaking. Undoubtedly, you would not have understood everything He was saying. But I’m sure you would have remembered more than just the words He shared. When we take communion, as Jesus demonstrates with the disciples, we teach our physical body to remember the Lord. After Jesus’ ascended, imagine the power Luke experienced taking communion in remembrance of Jesus, years later. We tangibly taste His blood and body. I encourage you to make communion with Jesus a daily practice in your life. Whether you’re in a hard season, or a mountaintop moment with the Lord, take a few minutes each day to remember Him! It will transform your mind, reminding your body who He is. There is power in your remembrance. It stirs up the reality of living in a new covenant with God!
