American writer and televangelist Dr. Jerry Savelle recalled how God met him despite being defiant and reluctant.

According to his official website, “Dr. Jerry Savelle was an average, blue-collar man who struggled and needed God’s help. While he considered himself a “nobody,” when he became a believer, God told him not to worry about it because He was a master at making champions out of nobodies.”
In 1969, God used Ms. Carolyn’s persistent faith and a song from Kenneth Copeland to lead Dr. Jerry Savelle to church, a night that changed his life forever.
“She begged me to go hear Kenneth Copeland. I didn’t want to hear him. The last thing I want to do is go hear some preacher talk me out of my money. And then she said this: “If you will go tonight and you don’t like this preacher, I will never ask you to go again.”
Dr. Jerry Savelle Met Kenneth Copeland
It was the deal he had been waiting on.
He asked, “Who is this guy you want me to hear?” His sister told him that it was Kenneth Copeland. When he heard his name, Dr. Jerry Savelle said, “I know who that is. In 1957, there was a man who had a hit record on the radio called ‘The Pledge of Love.’ And his name was Kenneth Copeland.”
His sister said that it wasn’t the same man, but he insisted he was right.

“I’m going to ask him if he’s the same man. I’d like to be right one time. I have already made up my mind. I don’t like him; if I don’t like him, I’ll never have to go again. I’m going to sit in the back row, closer to the door, and the moment I don’t like him, I’m going to get up and walk out,” he recalled.
The Turning Point
When he was about to leave, Kenneth Copeland said something that stopped him.
He stopped in the middle of his sermon and said, “I don’t know why I’m saying this. It has nothing to do with my sermon. In 1957, I had a hit record on the radio called The Pledge of Love.”
Dr. Jerry Savelle knew right there and then that it was for him.
“He said it for my benefit because that’s what kept me in the meeting that night. I went home, surrendered my life to the Lord, was immediately baptized in the Holy Spirit, and prepared to shut my business down so I could go into full-time ministry,” he concluded.
This serves as an important message that God may use anyone or anything to transform your life. Have faith in His plan and anticipate the new things coming from Him!
