What do Blake Whiteley, Wiz Khalifa, and Cam Newton have in common?

At the peak of Blake’s career as an up and coming artist  in the secular rap industry, he was traveling the country doing shows with main stream artist. He was living his dream and it was moving faster than ever. During one of his tour dates, he was chosen to perform an after party show for rapper Wiz Khalifa when Cam Newton won the national championship at Auburn University. Every moment of resilience and hard work came to this moment, but for a reason he didn’t see coming. As he was on the stage performing his second song, he felt a presence stressing to him that he was made for more. Listening to this urgency of a call away from the life he was living, he cut his mic, gave it back to the DJ, and walked off stage in the middle of his set. As he was walking through the crowd he realized that his life and passions were suppose to be for a higher purpose. After that night, he knew it was God speaking to his heart and He was calling Blake back home. Blake got on his flight, flew back home and gave his life to Christ. 

Little by little, Blake’s relationship with God grew and so did his new ministry in Christian hiphop music. He started writing new music that glorified God and that would bring people hope. His heart change made him on fire for God and Blake started performing his new music locally at churches and venues. As he grew in his relationship with Christ, so did his music and ministry. 

With in just three years of transitioning from secular hip hop to Christian Hip Hop, Blake’s music has made it to top Christian music and secular music charts and has been in the hands of top Christian music labels and producers. His latest album titled “Break Thru” reached number 4 on iTunes and his song “New Day” made it to number 9 on the CHR hot chart for radio, and Billboard’s Most Added to Radio chart. He has had opportunities with top labels and producers in Nashville, TN and is working on his next project which will be released in mid summer. 

Most importantly, Blake’s music has given people a new found love in Jesus. Lives have been saved and changed through God’s work in him and he continues to make music that only glorifies God. Being unashamed of his relationship with Christ, he continues to revolutionize the way we worship. He doesn’t only get millennials excited through his high energy music, but every generation around the world because of the passion in his lyrics and music. Like Blake wrote in one of his song, “If lovin’ You is weird than I’m tryin’ to be the weirdest.” Blake will continue to rep God through his fans and family of believers which he calls the GloryGang.
