Christian Baseball Player Clayton Kershaw Wins World Series Title With Los Angeles Dodgers

Christian baseball player Clayton Kershaw won his first World Series title with Los Angeles Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitcher Clayton Kershaw has always been open about his Christian faith. In 2016, he shared with the public that despite growing up as a Christian, he never took his belief seriously. Until in his high school years, he tackled the question “What is this Jesus guy all about?”

According to the 32-year-old athlete, faith is the reason he existed. He and his wife Ellen even started a faith-based non-profit organization named Kershaw’s Challenge. They have also sponsored the Hope’s Home orphanage in Zambia.

“All the things that I do – all this baseball stuff, everything in Africa, all the charities … is all great, but the ultimate glory is not for us,” Clayton said in 2016 during an interview

World Series

The eight-time All-Star has never won a World Series title during his 13 active seasons. In 2017 and 2018, his team Los Angeles Dodgers almost won the title but fell short in the last rounds. However, on Tuesday, October 27, Clayton and his team have been blessed with the title for the first time!

They have won the 2020 MLB World Series title against the Tampa Bay Rays on a 3-1 win. The three-time Cy Young winner and considered as one of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball was the winning pitcher in Games 1 and 5.

Clayton Kershaw expressed his gratitude during the post-game conference.

“I’m just so, so very thankful to be a part of this group of guys. And so very thankful that we get to be on the team that is bringing back a World Series to the Dodgers fans after 32 years,” he said.

Being hailed as a legend, Clayton brushed the praises saying that he doesn’t care about the legacy.

“I don’t care about any of that, man. We won the World Series. I don’t care about legacy,” he said. “… All that other stuff is just pointless. It doesn’t matter.”

That statement is a reflection of Clayton’s belief. On his Twitter account, he lists Colossians 3:23 on his bio and also writes, “We’re not here to try and gain accolades for ourselves and gain fame and all this stuff. The reason that we play baseball, and I get to do interviews like this, is to understand that God gave us all these opportunities to glorify Him.”

Christian hip-hop artist Kanye West works with Chick-Fil-A to provide free meals to people in need during the quarantine.

Kanye West’s association with Chick-Fil-A was made public when he mentioned the fast-food establishment in his song “Closed On Sunday.” As the global pandemic hit Los Angeles, the music icon partnered with the restaurant to serve those in need.

“Every morning I wake up and stand in the parking lot with our dedicated staff, I am blown away that day after day, week after week, there is enough food to provide to folks that need it,” the charity’s founder Matthew Barnett said. “The Los Angeles Dream Centre has transformed into the Grand Central Station of food distribution and other basic essentials … I can’t say thank you enough to the various donors who’ve made this a reality. This is what a neighborhood, a community, and a church should always look like.”

The 43-year-old artist’s wife Kim Kardashian has also joined in serving during this global crisis. She is working on providing face masks to hospitals through her shapewear line SKIMS. The mother of four also donated $1 million for the families stricken by COVID-19.

Kanye West shared that he and his wife are serving during this season to help heal those who are affected.

“The greatest thing for me, as someone who’s given their life to Christ, is knowing that other people have that as an anchor and a form of healing,” Kanye reflected. “Because you’re talking to a person that went to the hospital and back.”

Meet The 12-Year-Old Boy Who Founded The Non-Profit Organization For The Homeless

Homelessness has become a big issue in Los Angeles nowadays. In fact, it has become so rampant that even a 12 year old boy couldn’t help but do something about it.

Symond Boschetto was 8 years old when his desire to help the needy arose. One day he and his dad passed by a homeless man with a sign that read, “Need money to eat, please help.” He couldn’t help but do something for the man.

“I had like, $5 in my pocket, and I wanted to give it to him, but we had already passed him, and so I told my dad, ‘I want to help them,’” Symond told People Magazine.

“And he was like, ‘Well, I can turn around and we can go give him the $5.’ I said, ‘You don’t understand, I want to help them all,’” the 12 year old boy recounted.

The Non-Profit Organization Founded By A 12-Year-Old Boy

And since then, the compassion inside of him kindled for the sake of these people. His dad, Russell, helped Symond put up a request to build a website for the nonprofit organization he wanted to build.

“He’s always been very giving, and I just had to comprehend what that meant,” his dad recalled. “And what it literally meant was, literally all of them, that’s exactly what he wanted to do.”

Symond founded Share Hope USA. Their mission is “a vocal advocate for the hungry, displaced, and hopeless. We travel to help children, homeless, and families in need.”

The organization aims to reach out the homeless and less fortunate with the goal of bringing them hope. This includes food, clothing, and providing other necessities that they might need.

“I started this because I knew there were people that I needed to help, and I wanted to see what I could do to help them,” said Symond.

The Share Hope USA’s Accomplishments

Share Hope USA has helped over 9,000 people in need. They have created a strong network and community through social media (Facebook and Twitter). Additionally, it has provided an open door for other teenagers to be part of Symond’s vision through the Youth Ambassador Program.

The Youth Ambassador Program, also founded by Symond, has three “kindness” rules. First, show kindness daily to everyone you meet. Second, always be a good example of Sharing Hope with others. Finally, continue to be a difference maker.

Nurse Adopts Homeless Man She Just Met So He Could Get A New Heart

The program hosts outreach events in the community in partnership with Share Hope USA.

“What we have found is that through this program our youth are able to feel confident that no matter what their age, they too can change this world,” Share Hope USA’s website wrote.

Going The Extra Mile

But beyond the organization’s main mission, Share Hope USA is going the extra mile. They go out of their way to sponsor an annual Play-Doh drive for local hospitals.

“Play-Doh is the only thing that the hospital can’t disinfect,” describes Symond. “So when the patient touches it, they keep it forever, and keep it as a memory.”

Today, his family has moved from Los Angeles to Portland. And they are planning to sponsor yet more homeless families in the area on December during a Christmas event.

Symond then told the magazine, “I really want to just be almost all over the world. I want to be everywhere.”

One 12-year-old can change the world for over 9000 people and 34,000 kids.

Former Disney Child Protege Emerges “Unbreakable” After God Breaks “Curse Of Fame”

If you watch reruns of the long-running 90’s series on Disney, Mickey Mouse Club, you might fixate on the young Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera – the kids who became teen and adult phenoms. Ever wonder what happened to all of the other child proteges? Indeed, the Mickey Mouse Club served as a launching pad to unimaginable success and stardom – for some. But for others, like Jennifer McGill, there was simply a failure to launch – and not for lack of talent, mind you.

For many years, McGill has struggled with body image, low self-esteem, bad relationships, and many other ills associated with the “rock star” lifestyle – a lifestyle she built to reflect the fame that she so deeply desired. But now, with the release of her new Christian album “Unbreakable,” McGill has emerged victorious over the curse of fame with God’s help.

Here’s Jennifer’s Story

After starring in over 300 episodes of Mickey Mouse Club for Disney, teenaged Jennifer believed her star was rising. She certainly didn’t expect to have trouble landing other gigs. Soon, she found herself sitting on the Hollywood sidelines as many of her co-stars took a stab at fame.

Reflecting back on her hopeless mentality, McGill remarks, “I could not have been convinced back then that I wasn’t meant for stardom. I used to feel cheated and wasted because the gatekeepers of fame and fortune locked me out.”

After graduating from high school, a somewhat defeated Jennifer decided to trudge on to college instead of pursuing her entertainment aspirations in New York or Los Angeles. Having been employed since age 11, McGill wanted some time to be a normal kid, and college was just the place to do so. But she aspired to one day rekindle her entertainment career.

The World’s Cruel Judgment

With flickers of jealousy, McGill watched as her co-stars emerged as leaders in mainstream pop culture. When she tried to reignite her own career, she came face-to-face with a brick wall.

Although she never lost confidence in her talent as an entertainer, Jennifer questioned her appearance, beauty, and even her own self-worth. She remarks, “Experiencing the music industry judge me on pretty much everything except my talent left me feeling hopeless and worthless.”

These negative emotions spiraled into a deep depression, leaving her feeling “dead inside” at age 28. Unfortunately, this was precisely her spiritual state when she met her future (now ex-), husband. Her quest for love would prove to be just as fruitless as her quest for fame – because she was looking in all the wrong places.

At age 30, she married. Not only did she not love him, but he hid from her the fact that he was still legally married to someone else. Jennifer comments, “Had I been in my right mind and listening to God at all, I don’t think I would have ever walked down that aisle in the first place.”

From Rock Bottom To The Mountain Top

At this point, Jennifer hit rock bottom. She went from the pinnacle of Disney stardom to the very end of her self. All of her strivings had led to heartache and deep pain. She slept 12 hours a day to avoid her life. She even wished she was dead.

With nowhere else to turn, she rediscovered her Christian faith. Completely out of options, ideas, and energy, she leaned on God more fully than she ever had before. The results? Let’s let Jennifer speak for herself:

“I rededicated my life to Jesus, I got an annulment, I never called myself ‘dead inside’ again, and I have been on an amazing path of restoration and joy in the Lord ever since.”

Incredibly, the desires of her heart shifted from fame to God’s plans. Jennifer believes that “God broke the curse of fame” that was over her life and went even further to repair and strengthen her heart.

Ultimately, Jennifer hopes that God’s opinions of her will drown out those of the entertainment industry. For now, she is content with elevating God’s name in an industry that tries to create demigods.
