Love God, Love Others, Love Yourself

Jesus said all the commandments are fulfilled in this commandment, “Love God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself”. The Ten Commandments were given for our good to guide us in what is good and acceptable. Man added to these commandments to shackle us with rules and regulations which were burdensome. Jesus came to set us free from these laws by giving us the law of love and life. His law is love and love fulfils all the commandments and rules to govern life. Laws are like boundaries. They protect us and keep us safe from danger. Break the law and it will break you.

Loving Others

Loving God appears to be easy. However the love for God is seen in our love for others. The way we show we love God is through our love for our fellow human beings. This is the litmus test for our love for God. Some may say this is unfair as God is all loving but humans are not. Yet Jesus command is to love our enemies. Who can fulfil this command? With God all things are possible. If God said it than it must be possible. Yet in real life we struggle with this commandment to love our enemies. This is because we are trying to do it in our own strength. In His Spirit it is possible to love our enemies. Jesus loved Judas even though He knew he would betray Him.

Loving Self

We must first love ourselves to be able to love others. In the Spirit we can love ourselves despite all our failings and traumas. God’s love can do the impossible. We cannot love others if we do not first love ourselves. We were made in the image of God. When we see ourselves as God sees us then we will love ourselves as He loves us. Today let us turn our eyes from self to God and see the transformation take place. His love will so change us that we will be able to love anyone as Jesus loves all and died for all. Our relationships will change and peace will fill our homes as we love as He loves.

Chris Pratt Encouraged The Younger Generation To Love God During Awards Speech

Chris Pratt is best known as a Hollywood actor. However, it’s his boldness in sharing God in front of so many people that is truly inspiring. He is already famous and already known in the entertainment industry, but he glorifies God above every success he has attained, as seen in this video from the 2018 Teen Choice Awards.

Chris, together with Bryce dallas Howard, were chosen to receive the Teen Choice award 2018 and during his speech, he gratefully thanked God for what he received:

“I want to thank God. I always do that when I’m up on a big platform in front of a bunch of young faces. I say ‘I love God.’ That’s my thing. I love Him and you should too.”

He also encouraged the young viewers to love God as well. That was a very powerful statement from him. His life is a wonderful blessing especially to the younger generation who needs the love of God badly. It’s so amazing to see a Hollywood actor proclaiming the love of God and sharing it with the world.

Let’s pray for more bold Christians like him – children of God who are very willing to expose the love of God through their sphere of influence.

Still Single? There’s Nothing Wrong With You

Being in a relationship especially a romantic one is really a big deal to the millenials. If you don’t have a romantic partner at the age of 20 or more, people will start to say that you should start finding someone who will be with you for the rest of your life. They will pressure you to get rush and open your heart for a lover.

But they don’t know that there is a very important lesson that God wants to teach us in this wonderful season. If you want to love somebody else, you need to learn first what love is all about, and you can only find it in the arms of God. After you will learn to love God, you will then learn how to love yourself and other people.

If you don’t know how to love God and yourself first, the tendency is you will start to put unrealistic expectation to another human being and at the end of the day, you will learn that they can never fill the emptiness that you feel inside because only God can do such thing. That’s why in your season of singleness, allow God to mold you. Give Him the time to create your character, your work ethic, and allow him to fix your emotional health first.

Your state of singleness is not only important to you but also to God. Because it’s the time when He wants to give you vision and a purpose. He wants you to know who you are without a person because if you won’t discover it, you will be put in a situation where you will be validating your identity to someone else.

Remember that there’s nothing wrong with the season that you are in. Use this season to know more about God and yourself. And when you are ready, you will meet the right person in the right time.
