Oralia testified how God saved her after losing both of her parents in a tragic incident.
Oralia’s Life Before Knowing Christ
Having grown up in a Catholic family, Oralia knew more about Mary than Jesus.
“If you would just go into our home, you’ll see Mary here, Mary there, rosaries everywhere, even in our cars,” she said.
Oralia grew up in a home where her father was very abusive. She has five siblings, and everyone in her family experienced verbal, emotional, mental, and physical abuse because of her father.
“Because of all the abuse done to my mom and to us, that kind of led me to an addiction to marijuana and alcohol. I started smoking and drinking alcohol by the age of eleven,” she said.
Filling the Void
Oralia tried to fill the void her parents left by smoking and drinking.
But God used the ministry of Hungry Gen for Oralia’s deliverance.
“I ended up at Hungry Gen through my best friend’s boyfriend. He actually got delivered here. We were just hanging out one night and talking about scary stuff, documentaries, and movies. And he was like, “Well, do you want to see something that’s real?””
But Oralia was struggling with her boyfriend back then. When she was seventeen years old, she moved out, only to suffer more abuse.
“Through our relationship, there was just a lot of abuse, so I texted my best friend’s boyfriend. “How do I get him where you were?”, Oralia asked.
Oralia went with her ex to church and was miraculously delivered. A month later, she was baptized.

But she didn’t expect what would happen.
Her Dad Murdered Her Mom and Committed Suicide
A month after being baptized, her mother died and then her father.
“So, instead of going to the Lord, I turned my back on Him and I did my own thing. More smoking more drinking, just to numb all the grief that I was feeling at that time,” she said.
Oralia broke up with her boyfriend and moved away. But even there, God continued to knock on the door of her heart.
“Through online services, I was delivered from the addiction to marijuana,” she said. But even after that, Oralia struggled to completely quit.
Until something happened.
“I think my turning point was last October. I got into a car accident, and I just heard in the service that Pastor Vlad said, “If you ask God to break you, that is the fastest prayer that He’s going to answer.” And I’m here to testify that that is true,” Oralia said.
Grieving After Her Dad Murdered Her Mom and Committed Suicide
“I wouldn’t be here where I am if I hadn’t asked God to break me. Through those months, I went through a lot of things, like just cleaning out all the garbage, all that was holding me back,” she said.
All the grief and depression that came from what happened to her parents were dealt with by God. Oralia grieved and is now set free not just from durgs and alcohol, but also from her past.
“When God knocks at your door, just go all in. Don’t keep one foot in and one foot out. Because you will put yourself through torment and suffering that you don’t need to. And just hold on to a certain verse. You know, God will put something in your heart that will take you through it. For me, it’s Philippians 4:13,” she concluded.
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13, NIV).
