The “March for Jesus” is a movement where a nation unites to proclaim Jesus as King over the land. And on October 12, Venezuela stood and raised the banner of Jesus on the streets, declaring His love and calling people to repentance and new life in Him.
March for Jesus
As stated on their official website, “the March for Jesus is a procession of praise through the streets of the city, celebrating the Lordship of Jesus Christ. [It] culminates in a grand worship event in which Christians publicly proclaim the glory, the majesty, and the supremacy of the Savior.”
Moreover, they emphasized the gathering as “all about Jesus, and nothing else.”
It started in the 1980s when Christians took what they were experiencing inside the church to the streets. Graham Kendrick was one of the participants, and he wrote songs appropriate for the gatherings.
Then, the first nationwide March for Jesus happened on May 23, 1992. Christians across the 142 cities in the US were united to worship Jesus openly and prayed for those in need.
The public gatherings continued across the globe and are still happening today. And the recent event took place in different cities in Venezuela.
Venezuelan Christians
The states Macaraibo, Carabobo, Aragua, Barquisimeto, and Caracas had streets filled with hundreds of Christians. They sang and danced in worship to the King of kings.
With its theme, “Venezuela, the time for your restitution has come,” the local believers claimed God’s restoration and power for their nation. It lasted for three hours simultaneously in each state.
It ended with prayers for the society and families primarily affected by the pandemic.
Venezuelan Christians hold the public declaration of Jesus to dethrone all principalities and powers of darkness that try to dominate the land. Most specifically, in the Montaña de Sorte in Yaracuy, where witchcraft and occultism are heavy.
