Protecting Your Garden
“And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” (Genesis 2:15)
God commanded Adam to protect the garden. This was the garden He gave Adam as his gift and commanded him to dress and to keep it. According to Genesis 2:15, God gave Adam this command to ensure that his house (the garden) was covered, protected and provided for. It was Adam’s job and responsibility to cultivate the ground that God had given Adam before Eve was created. God gave man the skillset to till and work the land with ease. When Adam was in the will of God, work was not toiling but rather it was stewardship with ease. Adam was gifted by God to function in his Authority by stewarding the land as God had commanded. So when God created Eve, the God-Given land was already being led by and taken care of by Adam – Eve was sent to help build, expand and multiply. Adam was to protect the land that God had given him, build upon the substance and the resources that God released to him and Adam was to also protect His wife and family. Husband, the resources, gift and the family that God has graced you to steward over, it’s your responsibility to submit to God and lead as He instructs. Lead with Grace.
Swift To Hear, Slow To Speak
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” (James 1:19)
Husband, as you lead your wife, the Bible instructs us to be swift to hear the heart of your spouse and then slow to give a response. Swift to hear, slow to respond. Study to hear her heart before you give a rushed response. Study to hear her heart, pray about your response and listen to what God has to say about the matter. Engage God and then season your response in and with grace, love and Godly wisdom. God knows His daughter better than you. He knew her before the foundations of the world – so why not go to Him to get wisdom and understanding before you respond out of foolishness. Handle her with grace. Let your words be seasoned with God-given Love and instruction. You are His Son and He has given you His daughter to steward. It is your responsibility, as a good steward, to hear the heart of God before you selfishly respond out of your own desires. Seek God together. Lead the heart of your marriage with God’s Word. Only God can give you the skillful wisdom to navigate the course of life together. Christ is the Author – go to Him to get the answers.
Dwell With Her According To Knowledge
“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.” (1 Peter 3:7)
Husband, study your wife daily. Die to self and crucify your flesh by selflessly leading her as Christ leads you. As you study God’s Word and through prayer, allow Him to lead your heart. Allow God to direct your footsteps. When you allow God to direct your path you’ll lead your family in the right direction. He will not let you shipwreck. As you pray, God will direct your heart and pour into you. He’ll give you revelation concerning your home and your actions accordingly. When you deal and handle your wife according to Heaven’s intel concerning her you will not be led astray. Pray. Listen and Repeat. Allow God to season your lips before you respond. Let Him guide your heart before you selfishly sabotage your marriage. Allow God to fill your words with His Grace, Love and Mercy. As you build your house upon what God is saying, you’re securing future legacies. The generational success of your home starts with your obedience. Dwell with her according to your intimate knowledge about her. When you pray, lead her through what Heaven is saying about her. Choose to lead your home by following Christ’s example. Submit to Him and your marriage will never be the same.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7)
The fear, honor and reverence of God is the beginning of instruction. A man who does not submits to God will lead his astray. Leadership without submission is carnality. When you lead your home according to your own limited experiences and exposure, you’ll lead your house blindly. A man who leads his home by God’s instruction leads will propel his house to unprecedented levels. As you lead by God’s instruction, you’re leading not out of your own capability and capacity but you’re leading by faith – accessing God’s Power, Providence and Provision. According to Hebrews 11, those who lead and walk by faith will obtain a good generational, stagnation breaking report. When you walk by faith and choose to fear and honor the Lord, you and your seed will benefit from your obedience. When God is your family’s foundation, you’re erasing the stagnation of your past and embracing your family’s God given Destiny. Your obedience, submission and honor is not just for you, it’s for a new line of seed. God wants to birth a new and mighty generation out of you. When you honor God, you’re choosing to shift and break generational curses through the Blood of Christ. When you choose to believe God over your circumstances, you’re choosing to exalt God, crushing fear and anxiety. It is your choice to honor God and build a family foundation based upon His Word and Promises. Choose to honor God. A family that submits to God will reap His Reward for generations to come.
Wisdom Is Key
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7)
Husband, when you engage God in building the foundation of your home, your family will not shipwreck. When Godly wisdom is deep rooted in your family’s foundation you will not go astray. According to Joshua 1:8 KJV, when you lead your family as God instructs, you will have good success: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Get wisdom and choose to lead with compassion and understanding.
Ask God to fill your heart with His Wisdom. When He leads and instructs your heart He’ll give you the generational blueprint on how to lead your family. Prayer is critical to the success of your family. When you pray, you unlock the wisdom of God within the borders of your home and teach you how to navigate your home. Leading your family with prayer will unlock God Power and break generational curses, cycles and bondages. It is through prayer, where Godly wisdom is birthed. When you pray, you’re able to navigate the storms of life, with Christ. Husband, it is your choice to submit to God and lead with His wisdom. When you pray, you gain access to strategies that unlock supernatural doors. Your family’s success is built upon wisdom and starts with honoring God. Choose to honor God by submitting to His Wisdom.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
Don’t worry, choose to cast your your cares upon Christ. You weren’t built to carry the cares of life. You were built to cast them to God. Allow God to lead and to direct your home. Your home is the dwelling place of God and not the dwelling place of stagnant idols. When you hold on to your cares you begin to exalt your cares above God. When you meditate on your cares more than worshipping God, you begin to magnify your cares and make them idols. Who is the Lord of your home? Does God rule your thoughts or does the cares of life choke and entangle your worship. God did not create you to focus on your fears, He created you to worship Him. Pray together, war together and worship The True and Living King.
