How can we still be the hands and feet of God in the midst of a crisis and even in the midst of our own personal struggles?
Hands And Feet of God
In an episode of Standing Together with host Scott Volk, special guests Arnie and Sheree McCall shared how they became the hands & feet of God during a crisis. The couple even shared how they were able to keep their faith and continue doing their ministry despite facing personal trials.
When we talk about being an instrument of God to help other people, it is all about the love of Jesus Christ. It is showing God’s love towards others.
“It’s really love and action. It’s love, it’s loving people right where they’re at, it’s wrapping our arms around our community when it’s hurting,” Sheree shared.
Arnie also encouraged everyone to look for opportunities to show God’s love during crises.
“So many times God uses the crisis to be Christ-like at the moment,” he shared.
In the past years, the pastors of Freedom Church also encountered their own crisis. It is when Sheree’s parents were diagnosed with cancer almost at the same time. Despite grieving for the loss of her mom, the couple still held onto their faith in Jesus.
“It was a daily challenge of that place in your heart to set your mind on the things above. And to say, ‘Lord, I know what you have for us is good and you are a good father.’ And yet, this doesn’t look good, these circumstances don’t feel good, but I will put my trust in you. That you love us, that what you have for us is good. And I think the perspective of eternity is what comes near,” she recalled.
Focus on Jesus
Arnie also shared a powerful message to all the viewers, to focus on Jesus whenever they face trials.
“Fix your eyes on Jesus because there are so many distractions that the enemy would love to pull your focus,” Arnie emphasized.
