A man abused as a child became a drug-addict and a robber. But things got worse when he found out his brother murdered his parents. He couldn’t forgive him, until he encountered Jesus.
Growing Up In An Abusive Home
Wayne Bradley didn’t have a healthy family. He grew up in an abusive home where his dad physically and verbally abused his children. As a result, the fear the childhood trauma brought him turned him into a loner.
As Wayne hit young adulthood, drugs and alcohol became his escape to fill the void in his heart. The addiction also led him to abuse people just like what his father did to him. His deep pain took a toll on his life that he no longer cared about anything that would happen. Then things got even more worse when he found his parents dead in their home.
Brother Murdered His Parents
In 1996, Wayne visited his parents and found them stabbed to death inside their own home. But what’s more painful was knowing it was his older brother, Craig, who murdered their parents. Since then, he became totally wasted and gave up any hope in life. He also blamed God for everything that was going wrong in his life. And for the next ten years, Wayne became homeless, living on streets, trying to live day-by-day by snatching purses.
One day, as Wayne searched for another victim to target, the encounter with the older lady radically changed him. The old lady told him, “young man, no matter what you do to me, I just want you to know that Jesus loves you.” So, instead of snatching the old lady’s purse, he agreed to go with her to a Victory Outreach who helps people like him. That’s when he heard the Good News of the Gospel for the first time. Right then, he knew Jesus was real.
Watch what happened.
