God’s Word for the Day: The Joy of Your Salvation

The joy of your salvation is an internal and external happiness that comes from being redeemed by God’s grace.

What Does the Bible Say?

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:12

You have received an incredible gift—the salvation provided through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. This gift not only secures your eternal life but also offers a profound and unshakeable joy that surpasses any circumstance you may face. Explore the depths of this joy, rooted in the unwavering promises found in God’s Word.

The gift of salvation is a blessing from God, not earned by your own efforts or achievements. Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us that we are saved by God’s grace through faith. This truth should fill you with overflowing joy, knowing that our salvation is secure and cannot be earned or lost. You are forever loved and accepted by our Heavenly Father.

The joy that stems from the redemption you have received through Jesus Christ. In Psalm 51:12, David’s prayer to God resonates with us: “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Your salvation is not a one-time event but a continuous source of joy and renewal. Through Christ’s sacrifice, you have been forgiven, cleansed, and reconciled to God. Your sins have been washed away, and you are made new in Christ—this truth is worth rejoicing!

Psalm 96:2-3 says to sing, praise, and proclaim God’s salvation day after day. Your overflowing joy should compel you to share the good news of God’s salvation with others. As you bear witness to the transformative power of Christ, you invite others to experience the same joy and freedom you have found in Him.

Prayer

I pray that joy will rise within your spirit and create unshakable happiness that comes from knowing you are redeemed and set free. Lord, I thank you for a joy that bubbles up and overflows as a display of your goodness and faithfulness. Amen!

You Are A “Recycled” Masterpiece

Nowadays, the garbage collectors don’t just pick up your garbage, they also pick up your recyclables. They encourage you to separate the two – the garbage, and the items that can be used again – or recycled. Hmmm. I have seen myself in that recycle bin.

PASSING THRU CHANGES

What we think is meant to destroy us, can be turned into our greatest purpose.

To recycle means: “To convert waste into usable material, reuse, recover, reclaim, use again, salvage, save.”

The word recycle in verb form means: “to pass again through a series of changes or treatments; such as – to process something such as liquid body waste, glass or cans in order to regain material for human use.” (Amazing).

Let’s talk about glass (which I break often. Sadly true.) Did you know that glass bottles and jars are 100% recyclable and-and-and THIS – (ready? THIS is the best part) – “and can be recycled endlessly without any loss in purity or quality.” WHAT? You need to read that again – “and can be recycled endlessly without ANY loss in purity or quality.”

THE VALUE OF A HUMAN SOUL

So many times (too many times) we get caught up and consumed by our own flaws and failures, and all the “coulda, shoulda, wouldas” and the excruciating emptiness we have inside. The enemy of our soul relentlessly barrages us with attacks of shame, and regret, and guilt. We can feel like we have done something so despicable that we set the planet off its orbit and it’s not fixable. All hope is gone. Or am I the only one who ever entertained that lie? Yes, it is a lie. On our own we can’t put broken glass back together, or find lost purity, or innocence stolen from us. BUT GOD CAN. Remember, “…recycled endlessly without any loss of purity or quality.” And that fact just comes from broken glass, people! How much more important and valuable is a human soul, to the God who created it???

RECYCLED MASTERPIECE

All my hope comes from my trust that the God who made me, will finish what He started in me – that He will recycle me endlessly and as much as needed – that He will make me a masterpiece. He will change me through series of treatments. He will mold me, shape me, and in the recycling comes the purpose and the final perfection. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…” (Ephesians 2:10)

Say it with me and be very excited, “I AM a recyclable! I have such great worth that God would take the time and the effort to make my life over again.” (and over, and over, and over…)

“The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.” (Psalm 138:8) I hope you can begin to see yourself the way God sees you. It is truly a beautiful thing. You are a recycled masterpiece!

Faith Today's Encouragement

Do Not Be Afraid…Love Covers A Multitude Of Sin

Welcome to today’s daily reading from the Gospel of Luke, as part of our Do Not Be Afraid series. Today is Luke chapter 6. There’s so much in this chapter for us to learn from; so many things that Jesus tells to those around Him. You know, He gives context. He says, “If you are good to those around you and others are good to you, everybody does that. If you forgive and others forgive, everybody does that. If you lend and they lend back, everybody does that. But I want to tell you something different. I want you to love your enemies. I want you to do good and lend to those not expecting anything in return. Because if you do that, my Father will honor you as His children.”

This whole context, Jesus is sharing a new truth; His new Kingdom where new principles, new ways of doing and being right. If you are good and they’re good, anybody can do that. But if you are good and they’re not, then you’re doing something incredible, something godly, something never seen before. We all love mercy. Oh, His mercies are fresh and new every morning. Great is Thy faithfulness. We all need mercy to get through our day.

Mercy is when you do not get what you actually deserve. It’s that wonderful forgiveness. It’s that wonderful restoration. It’s that “as if it had never happened,” and the Father, through Jesus extends mercy to us all. We don’t deserve it. We can’t earn it. We can’t possibly find a way to make that happen. Yet freely through the sacrifice, through the gift of Jesus on the cross, mercy is ours. Hebrews chapter 4, “Come boldly before the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

But it’s not just us that need mercy. They need mercy, too. And Jesus says, in this the 6th chapter of Luke, that if we want to be God’s kids functioning in God’s Kingdom and looking like Him, we need to share mercy with others. We need to be kind to them, too. So as we go through our day, remember to receive all the kindness and mercy of the Lord, but remember to share it with those around you, because they need it, too.

No, you can’t take anything with you to heaven. You can’t take your car, you can’t take your house. You can’t take that new computer gizmo that you got for Christmas to heaven. But there is one thing you actually can take to heaven: souls, people, human beings, by reaching them with the gospel of Jesus. That’s all we care about here at GOD TV. We want to bring as many souls with us to heaven, to present them to Jesus as we can. And you can, too, by joining with us, giving a generous gift.

How To Procure The Favor Of God – And Be A Candidate Of God’s Favor

Mercy and truth are the pure nature of God and as we were created in the image of God, we are to imitate God our heavenly Father, as dear children, see Ephesians 5:1.

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man (Proverbs 3:3-4)

We are enjoying the mercies of God even though we don’t deserve it but yet He chose to have mercy on us and they are new every morning which is why we are not consumed, see Lamentation 3:22-23. Jesus said in Matthew 9:13, “But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Also, see Hosea 6:6.

The word of God is divided into three parts; 1. Principles, 2. Promises, and 3. Prophecy. The principles are the ways of God, the rules of engagement of God’s kingdom which if we righteously practiced, we will enjoy a lot of benefits from the Lord. One of these is the favor of God. Proverbs 3:3 says, let not mercy and truth forsake you, that is, to be merciful to others (see Matthew 5:7) even to those that have wronged you just as we are enjoying the underserved mercy of God.

About the truth, we should love the truth, speak the truth, do the truth and stand for the truth. As 2 Corinthians 13:8 says, “For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.” We should never attempt to do anything against the truth but always be for the truth. Only the truth has the potency to set people free (John 8:32). Now, Proverbs 3:4 says, we shall find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man, that is after we have fulfilled verse 3.

The favor of God will qualify you for what you are not qualified for, just as the favor of God qualified Esther to be queen (see Esther 2:15). Favor of God will single you out for an uncommon miracle, as Mary was highly favored among women to be the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ (see Luke 1:27-28).

It should be our daily lifestyle as images of God in Christ Jesus to always do good and not be weary of doing good (And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not, Galatians 6:9). Proverbs 11:27 says, we should be diligent about doing good to procure or obtain the favor of God, also see Proverbs 12:2.

Don’t because someone has wronged you stop doing good, don’t allow the sin of others to remote you to fall into sin. Jesus never did, He was anointed with Holy Spirit and He went about doing good (see Acts 10:38), you also have the same Spirit as you are in Christ Jesus. Remember Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Encountering God’s Gentleness

Gentleness is defined as “the quality of being kind, tender, mild-mannered” according to Oxford English Dictionary

While it may not be your tendency to move about your life gently, it is a part of your new nature. Ephesians 4:22 tells us “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation”. When God saved you, the fruits of the spirit became your nature. As a follower of Jesus, you now have the ability to live those fruits out.

How gentle are you with yourself?

Do you allow the gentle nature of God to encounter you? If you find it hard to receive God’s gentleness, ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart and mind to this new facet of the Father. He is eager for you to know Him in all His ways. Jesus wants you to experience his nearness, tender mercies, and kind spirit. In Matthew 11:29, Jesus says, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

How gentle are you with others?

Staying soft and full of love for those in our lives can be difficult. If it’s hard for you, like it can be for anyone at times, remember: this is a part of your nature. You don’t have to strive for it. Do you have an annoying coworker that feels hard to be kind to? Next time you feel these feelings arise, ask God to show you how His gentleness can make itself known even in that circumstance.

Gentleness does not take away from strength. In fact, gentleness could be understood as a kind of inner strength. One that comes from living with peace and practicing self-control. These two qualities create fertile ground for gentleness to grow and touch those around you.

Jesus’s Radical Compassion

Have you spent time pondering the radical compassion that Jesus modeled for us? In stories like the Woman Caught in Adultery, or in the moments before His crucifixion, Jesus demonstrates mercy powerfully. When human nature assumes the worst should happen to an outcast or sinner, Jesus teaches us to extend compassion.

Be Merciful, even as your Father is Merciful

A Houston Texas ministry, 7more, models this for prisoners on their day of release. By providing prisoners with food, hygiene, and clothing which restores their dignity, 7more demonstrates the same mercy Jesus did, helping them properly integrate back into society. The ministry, named after Matthew 8, ultimately “want(s) to meet them with hope, dignity, honor, and the Kingdom of God” says Josh Walker, 7more co-founder.

“Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.” (Matthew 8:21-22)

Jesus Models Radical Compassion

Our culture today is eager to ostracize those who have hurt or offended us. Holy Spirit in our lives provides empowering compassion for us to extend to others. Reflect on the sin you were set free from from the life Jesus lived and died. How did God’s mercy save and empower you? Remembrance of God’s radical compassion in our lives empowers us to live holy, merciful lives that reflect God’s loving nature.

“Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)

As he prepared to be killed, Jesus prayed for the Father to forgive his murderers. With this as a standard, we have no excuse to not extend forgiveness to those who hurt us in our own lives. A prayer for you today:

Father, empower us to live filled with your compassion for those in our lives. Lead us, Holy Spirit, in our thoughts, actions, and intentions towards others and reveal the places where our hearts have hardened toward our brothers and sisters. Fill us with your love to overflow, amen!

The Mercy Seat of Heaven

Do you know that the Church is supposed to model the mercy seat of heaven? In John 8, it’s the story of the woman caught in adultery. But the story starts with that Jesus is in the temple courts teaching, and it’s the religious leaders who in that moment, bring the woman who was caught in the act of adultery. And they bring that woman to Jesus in the temple courts. And of course, they’re wanting to test Jesus and they’re wanting Jesus to condemn the woman and to exercise judgment on her. And of course the famous story, Jesus bends down, He writes on the ground. He said, “He who is without sin throw the first stone.” And the Bible says that they all started to depart from the oldest to the youngest, because of course, the oldest has the biggest laundry list of their own shortcomings of their own sin. So they start to peel off till no one’s left. And Jesus says, “Woman, where are your accusers? Where have they gone? Who judges you?” No one is left. And Jesus says, “Neither do I judge you,” but He ends with this statement, “Go and sin no more,” which is super important, because Jesus, His grace empowers us to step out of sin.

But what I want us to recognize is that the religious leaders brought the woman to Jesus in the temple court, because they wanted judgment, but Jesus has created the mercy seat. That is what is in the Holy of Holies. That is what He comes to represent, the nature of God that he brings. Religion wants judgment, but Jesus wants to display mercy. And in that mercy and in that grace, that woman was empowered to go and sin no more.

And when we learn how to exercise repentance, to extend mercy and extend grace, we’re actually empowering people not to keep sinning, but to step out of sin. Jesus is longing for when His Church can learn how to model His nature and be the mercy seat, not the judgment seat, but the mercy seat of God. And my prayer for you is that you can represent and model that to all the people around you, and that we can grow together as the Bride of Christ and represent the mercy seat.

So Father, I thank you for everyone listening, that they would receive the heart of compassion straight from the Father, and that we all together would display the mercy seat of God to the world, because that is what the world is truly hungry for, and the kindness that will draw them to repentance. So I bless you with that today, in Jesus’ Name.

The Mercies Of God

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness (Lamentation 2:22-23)

The mercies of God refer to His gracious love, and it encompasses love, grace, mercy, goodness, forgiveness, truth, kindness, compassion, favor, and His faithfulness. Many physical and spiritual things are against us day by day, but because of the mercies of God, we were and are not consumed, and His compassions fail not.

We receive all things from Him and even healing because of His mercies. The blind Bartimaeus cried out for the mercy of God, and He healed him; see Mark 10:46-51. We are saved, forgiven, and redeemed because of the mercies of God. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Also, see Ephesians 2:8.

God Decides

Romans 9:15-16 says, “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy”. So, God decides who He gives and grants His mercies and at what time. It is even by the mercies of God that we become who we are and not of our strength and power, see Zechariah 4:6 as well.

James 2:13 also says, “For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.” God will have no mercy upon those who have no mercy for others because mercy prevails over judgment, which was why God saved us in the first place. Psalms 18:25 says, “With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.” Matthew 5:7 says the same thing, “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”

Showing Mercy

If you want to be enjoying the mercies (love, grace, mercy, goodness, forgiveness, truth, kindness, compassion, favor, and His faithfulness) of God in your life, you also show mercy to others. You can do it, pray about it, and remember “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13)

Finally, whatever you might be going through right now and if you are also believing and trusting God for healing. God is willing to answer you and even heal you of your sickness. You only need to cry out for His mercy as the blind Bartimaeus did by faith.

Former Hindu Receives God’s Love

A former Hindu shares her testimony of how she received God’s loving pardon and freedom.

Bobbi Kumari

Bobbi Kumari shares how she was forced as a child to follow Hinduism practices and worship thousands of deities. However, at the young age of 11-years-old, she knew that these idols were not the God who created her and breathed life into her.

“Growing up as a Hindu, I had thousands of deities messing with my brain. And I was told to worship all of them especially if they were framed. But I wouldn’t conform, I just couldn’t flow with the notion that a sculpture created my soul… These dead idols could never breathe life.”

Former Hindu

At the age of 12, she met Jesus Christ and accepted Him into her life. She instantly noticed how her life transformed after that moment.

“One fine day, when I made the heavenly discovery, I met the living Savior and I invited Him to live in me. My 12-year-old life transformed eternally to actually find there was a God who could heal me. Omnipresent eyes that could see me so clearly.”

However, a few years later, she ran away from her newfound relationship with God. She lived a very worldly life and even became addicted to all kinds of drugs. Bobbi fell more and more deeply into the darkness as she continued searching for love and contentment in the wrong places.

Mercy and Grace

But the Lord showed her mercy and redeemed her from the deep abyss.

“There’s just no place that His grace won’t go. Mercy was snatched back from under Satan’s nose, and that’s what mercy did to me. Desperate for God’s forgiveness, I just fell at His feet and His loving pardon, it came immediately.”

Now she is the founder and CEO of Living in Light, a Christian fashion brand that aims to see the world encounter God’s love through creativity. Bobbi is also ministering to the lost through her podcast, books, and creative workshops, and project internationally.

“He became a smile on my face, the flame in my fire, the beat of my heart, my every desire.”

We often hear the words “forgive others” as Christ had forgiven you. But did you know that it’s easier to forgive others than you forgive yourself? That’s why many resort to forgiving others but beat themselves up instead of accepting God’s mercy.

Forgiveness

Forgiving is not easy. It’s when you face the person who had hurt you deeply and saying you choose to overlook the offense the person committed against you. It’s hard; that is why most people do not face the real issues of their hearts. As a result, anger, bitterness, and hatred fill their lives because it’s more comfortable to hate than love. They bring such unforgiving hearts that it poisons their whole being, not until they surrender it at the feet of Jesus. But what if that someone you can’t forgive is yourself?

Beating Yourself

Compared to forgiving others, forgiving yourself is the hardest. Sometimes you can’t forgive yourself for all your mistakes and think you don’t deserve God’s mercy anymore. Maybe because it’s how people made you feel, and you can’t help but feel guilty and condemned, to the point you feel hopeless. But let me tell you the truth, relentless woman.

God loves you so much, and there is no sin nor mistake that God cannot forgive you. Don’t listen to those lies or whispers from the enemy that is condemning you. The truth is, God is with you, and He is always ready to embrace you in your mess. He wants to cleanse you and reveal Himself as a loving God to you.

1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

You are already forgiven. So, just accept God’s mercy and love in your heart and allow His power to transform you from the inside out. God has already taken into account the wrong turns, the mistakes in your life. Quit beating yourself up and rest in His love.
