Mike Pence Encourages Americans To Honor And Thank Veterans: “They Deserve To Hear It”

Vice President Mike Pence delivers a bold message to Americans in commemorating Veterans Day. He encouraged the people to remember the veterans’ sacrifices and service to keep the nation safe and secure.

In an editorial piece of Fox News, Pence declared the veterans as heroes. “On Veterans Day, it’s our day to set the record straight. Every veteran of the armed forces of the United States is a hero to the American people. On this day, it’s our duty to tell the story of what they did for us,” he said.

He continued, “What they did for our country, and all that they’ve done to ensure the survival and success of liberty.”

Pence’s father was a combat veteran himself. He once told Pence that the true heroes were “the guys who didn’t make it home.” With that said, Pence concluded that veterans don’t really see themselves as heroes. But just people who answered the call of their country.

He revealed that the Veterans Affair’s neglect showed a cold indifference to the women and men in uniform. And it has lowered their morale.

Regardless, Pence lauded the Trump administration for following through the promises made for the veterans. He highlighted the administration’s efforts in finding a new home for 30,000 homeless veterans. They also passed a new bill that gives $24,000 to veterans attending college.

Furthermore, Pence’s wife has also engaged in taking care of the veterans by spearheading the PREVENTS task force. It is an effort to cater to the mental health of the retired soldiers.

He then challenged Americans who did not serve in the uniform. “Before the day is out – whether at home or at work, on a street corner, or over  a backyard fence – find a veteran.”

He continued, “Whether he or she came home in the last week or in the last century, extend your hand and say those words that veterans never ask to hear but they deserve to hear every day. Find a veteran today and say: ‘Thank you for your service.’ Because they deserve to hear it every day.”

VP’s Daughter, Charlotte Pence Bond Reveals Powerful ‘God’ Story Behind Dad’s Political Ascension

Vice President Mike Pence’s daughter, Charlotte Pence Bond, shared a powerful election day message on her podcast channel amid the political unrest. She delivered an important message of following God regardless of which political party gets elected.

The 27-years-old author revealed how her father decided to join the public service, and it includes a big push from God. She recalled a family vacation where it all started.

“We went into this dude ranch and we were on a hike as a family,” Charlotte said. Her father was already contemplating the decision of whether to make another run in the Congressional election after two unsuccessful bids.

During that time, Pence was already thriving in his career in broadcast media and law. They knew they were putting a lot at stake if they would pursue politics. However, Pence and his wife, Karen, saw something that impressed their hearts deeply.

“My mom and dad are standing on this cliff. And they look over the cliff and they saw these two hawks and they’re flying. But they’re not flapping their wings. They’re just kind of gliding together, and the wind is just kind of carrying them along.”

Let God carry us

To this, Karen told Pence a “strategic plan” in running for the office.

Charlotte continued, “My mom says to my dad, ‘If we’re going to run again, we’re going to run as those two hawks – no flapping. We’re going to let God carry us up to a position or not. We’re going to glide, we’re not going to try to get there on our own.” And so, they did.

Later, Pence was elected into Congress and then became Governor of Indiana in 2012. Just four years later, he became the Vice President.

Charlotte explained that her family has learned to focus on God and lean on Him in paving the path ahead of them. “God is faithful and He does have a plan.”

“I want to encourage you: if you’re nervous today, on election day, just remember that God has a plan for us.” She ended, “Regardless of the results of elections, we respect the person who God has placed in authority.”

Mike Pence Urges Church To Hold Fast To Jesus And Prayer More Than Ever

Mike Pence attended at a Texas megachurch’ “Celebrate Freedom Sunday”. And he urged believers to hold fast on prayer and on Jesus.

The Vice President was given the honor of speaking to First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas last Sunday. On his nearly 30-minute message, he shared ways of celebrating freedom in means of “work and worship.”

He also expressed that this is “a challenging time in our nation’s history.”

“We’ve gone through one of the worst pandemics in the history of this country, an economic downturn none of us expected, and, for a time, we saw chaos engulf the streets of many of our major cities.  We’ve seen statues of some of our nation’s greatest heroes being torn down.  And one can’t help but wonder that ancient question — that if the foundations crumble, how can the righteous stand?”

He continued, “And yet, in the midst of such trials, American Christians have hope.  We remember the countless triumphs we’ve won, even in our darkest hours: victories against empires, against injustice, against diabolical tyrannies across the world.  During these times, we do well to remember that the foundation of America is freedom, but the foundation of freedom is faith.”

Pence declared that the faith of American people is what sustains the nation in every dark time throughout the nations history. It believes it will be the thing that will continue to sustain America during this time.

“As our nation faces these difficult days, I believe more than ever that we stand in the need of prayer.  In coming here today …I wanted to encourage you: As you celebrate freedom in this coming week, practice prayer in a renewed way.”

He concluded, “And I believe with all my heart, on this Celebrate Freedom Sunday and every day, that if we will but hold fast to Him, we’ll see our way through these challenging times. We will restore our nation’s health, we will renew our freedom. And we will inspire people across this land with our witness of the love and compassion and strength that comes in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.”

#ExposeChristianSchools Going Viral, Exposing Sensitive Issues

Chris Stroop, Ph.D., began a viral hashtag on Twitter calling it #ExposeChristianSchools. Beginning on January 18, it was protesting news that Vice President Mike Pence’s wife, Karen, will be teaching at a private Christian school.

Chris’ objection to Karen Pence teaching at the private school in Northern Virginia is that, “homosexual and lesbian activity,” is prohibited for employment.

Calling himself an “ex-evangelical,” Chris grew up in Christian schools from first grade through high school. According to him, the Christian schools he attended demeaned the LGBT community while discouraging women’s empowerment, which are sensitive issues he stands for.

Chris, a writer and activist, said, “Not everything about it was bad. I had teachers I liked who encouraged me academically. But I don’t think education as indoctrination is right.”

When the Covington Catholic High School controversy broke soon after the March for Life in Washington, DC, Chris’ hashtag had more fuel in its fire. The mainstream media was at first spinning the story maligning the teenagers before backtracking. But #ExposeChristianSchools hashtag began showing many other people’s hurts and pains.

One person tweeted, “Being gay & out was a reason for expulsion. It didn’t stop the LGBTQ kids from being who they were. It just made them feel like closeted, shameful, fearful sinners. Sounds real Christ-like, right?”

Another said, “Senior year Chastity Day a former Playboy model came in and talked to the girls about how if we have sex with boys before marriage, its like giving them a used baseball bat on our wedding night. Boys had a dance party #ExposeChristianSchools. And I never had sex education or physical education in my life.”

However, a voice of reason tweeted, “Most of us don’t really care who disagrees with us, because we knew before we started talking we would be demonized. We only want to be heard. We want meaningful, thoughtful change. And it starts with not giving churches everywhere a free pass.”

What You Can Learn

In the United States we can choose what model and form of education our kids are receiving. People learn in multiple ways. Despite Chris Stroop’s protest, Karen Pence can choose to apply for work where she wants, just like he decides. But his hashtag has exposed pain needing healing in many people’s lives.

It is sad that there are churches and schools lacking accountability or proper protocols. Legalism may be abounding, and unfortunately abuse can happen. But these things also happen in public schools as well. Indoctrination of liberal views is taking place as Christian parents send their kids to the public education system. And denominational preferences and indoctrination is taking place in Christian private schools as non-Christian parents send their children there. All colleges, no matter how much they try to stay neutral, have a direction it is leaning towards. You can figure it out by reading the articles and publications from its professors and staff.

As a parent or guardian, you need to do your research first. Inform yourself about the places and options you are considering, interviewing people, attending classes more than once. Talk to the parents, students and others before making your decision. And if you’re a potential college student, you are responsible to study your many choices before attending classes. If you don’t like it, you can choose to go elsewhere. Every school has a culture they want incorporated into you, in both public and private education. And you have the right to make the best decisions for you.

What the Church Can Learn

The Church should be not be lashing out quickly on this. Nor should we be demonizing the truly hurting persons. Instead, let’s prayerfully listen first. Where apologies are needed, apologize. Where restitution is needed, then resolve it. Dialogue where needed, asking for forgiveness. The Church can correct itself to be a more loving and brighter light to the world.

No matter Chris Stroop’s original intentions, I personally think this hashtag may be a cry for help from the world to the Church. It can morph into something more evil, vindictive or anti-Christ. But currently these people are asking for loving discussion and resolution. And these ministries can inform others why they believe and practice their faith in specific ways, discussing their business practices. However, it can help them become better organizations as well.

Biblical Truth Shedding Light

This may be a call for us to be a better community interacting with everyone. Not only will Christian schools be exposed when they should be transparent anyways, but public schools will be as well. But currently, we need to be addressing the issues being raised in the #ExposeChristianSchools. And maybe, we need to clean house. Let’s start correcting ourselves, Church. If we don’t, know that God will. 1 Peter 4:16-17 says, “If you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household. And if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?”

Also, as a teacher, you have greater responsibility. James 3:1 says, “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more severely than others.” In Biblical context, this is saying that by God’s justice He will pronounce condemnation with the teacher bearing the force, suffering punishment. Thus, we don’t need a hashtag exposing us, because ultimately the Spirit of God will.

Karen Pence, The “Prayer Warrior” Behind The Vice President

As the Second Lady, Karen Pence is forging a prominent role for herself in the administration. So far, she’s been more visible than First Lady Melania Trump. She traveled to Europe with her husband on his first overseas trip as Vice President and has been a near-constant presence at his speeches and appearances. During the campaign trail of the 2016 election, Karen was almost always seen supporting her husband and her party.

“Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.” (Proverbs 31:11-12)

The Second Lady is also passionate about her own platforms. Less than a month after the inauguration, Karen announced she would focus her advocacy on art therapy. She was an elementary school teacher for 25 years and has a great love for art, especially painting. As well as an educator, Karen is a devout Christian. Together the Pences have a son and two daughters.

Behind the authority and success of VP Mike Pence is a supportive and driven woman who backs up everything with prayer. And no woman is as strong as she who puts her faith in the sovereign God.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.” (Proverbs 31:25)

The Pence family is known for their open Christian faith. Friends and aides call Karen Pence the family’s “prayer warrior”.

“I would characterize her as the silent, omnipresent partner. You knew she was there, you knew there was some considerable influence she wielded, but, boy, she was not public about it,” said Brian Howey, publisher of Howey Politics Indiana, a nonpartisan political newsletter in the state.

Karen does not like influencing politics but she is a firm believer in her stand and faith. “That’s the kind of person she is, a person who believes in prayer; a Godly mother and wife,” said Vicki Lake, the wife of the Pences’ former pastor.

Lake shared that when Mike was still a congressman, Karen would send out prayer requests to people — to pray for them as a family, that God would give them the strength to do all that they had to do.

“When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.” (Proverbs 31:26)

Even the President himself understands the influence Karen has on her husband. Now, as Second Lady, Karen and her husband continue to have an enduring connection. She accompanies him on foreign trips and sits in on off-the record briefings with reporters. She even stood by the VP as he chose his staff, acting as his “gut check and shield,” according to The Washington Post.

May the Lord continue to raise up strong women of Godly character in our school, churches, and in our political spheres.

Christians Celebrate US Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. It’s something the Bible teaches and we have always known. But, there is a battle for the city that continues to rage in protest against God’s Word. Bible-believing Christians have long supported the city’s status as Israel’s ‘eternal and undivided capital’ and many are now expressing their joy as world leaders finally begin to acknowledge this important fact.

The USA moved it’s embassy to Jerusalem on May 14th 2018, followed soon after by Guatemala and Paraguay. GOD TV congratulates these countries and particularly US President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence for leading the way in the face of international condemnation.

We have always considered Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and have had a significant presence there since 2001. Both our CEO, Ward Simpson and the GOD TV family share a passion to bless the people of the Middle East. “What an amazing bold move, it’s a historic and important day for Israel,” Ward said after hearing the news that the USA would finally move its embassy to Jerusalem.

Speaking at addressed a Christian Media Summit in Jerusalem in 2017,  Ward shared GOD TV’s mandate to be a voice for Israel as an advocate and defender. “The Bible declares ‘Jerusalem will be cup of trembling for the nations’,” he says.  “It seems all hell has broken lose after the President’s decision with many opposing him.  It’s a critical time in history. We need to pray earnestly for the USA President, Israel and the peace of Jerusalem.”

The Battle For Jerusalem

1in 1917 the British ended Ottoman Turkish rule in Palestine. This victory made it possible for the Balfour Declaration to be implemented. This was the start of establishing the Jewish homeland. On December 11, 1917 General Allenby walked into the Holy City humbly marking its liberation. 50 years later, in 1957, the Israeli Army reunified Jerusalem. Now after another 50 years the US President has recognized the Jewish capital, having moved the US embassy from Tel Aviv. Bible-believing Christians are jubilant about this.

While the President’s action has been criticized, in moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem, Donald Trump was only implementing what the US Government voted for. The US Congress passed The Jerusalem Embassy Act, 93-5 and the House of Representatives, 374-37. Successive Presidents delayed its implementation, but President Trump has now delivered on what he promised. Some say this is against Peace but as Prime Minister Netanyahu points out, “there can be no peace without Jerusalem.” Furthermore, President Trump genuinely believes this is a step towards peace and not away from it.

Speaking to Ward on GOD TV Broadcast, Rabbi Jonathan Bernis of Jewish Voice shared his thoughts on President Trump’s support for Israel. “America finally acknowledges what we voted for 23 years ago,” Rabbi Bernis observes. “We are aligning ourselves with the Word of God and whenever we to that, it is a great day!”

Rabbi Bernis believes this is a huge deal for America because he says the USA desperately needs God’s blessing. “Standing with Israel is critical to our destiny as a nation and I feel America has been given another chance to stand for righteousness. The End Times are a period of great trouble as the nations turn against Israel, but we have delayed that in the USA. We are walking into the light as we do this and we are celebrating a correct decision by our government.”

On the same broadcast, Ward’s pastor, John Kilpatrick of Church of His Presence spoke a word of blessing over President Trump.

“We bless our president Donald J Trump. You have come to the Presidency of these United States for such a time as this. A modern day Jehu, you are unafraid to carry out the unpleasant assignments that must be done. What others could not and would not even attempt, you stepped up and shifted the nation out from under godlessness, indecisiveness and leading from behind. You are removing the blindfold over the eyes of lady justice once again, putting salt and light back into the highest court of the land. You are removing the oppressive yoke from the necks of the people and now you have singlehandedly aligned yourself and this nation with the purposes of Jehovah God concerning the nation of Israel and in particular Jerusalem.

“We declare you are protected and defended by the Host of Heaven. Weapons may be formed against you by a myriad of enemies, but they shall not prosper. They will backfire. God shall frustrate the token of the liars. We bless you, your wife Melania and family. Know there is a wall of fire around about you and a canopy of glory over your heads. We declare that although you have just begun you will finish. You will accomplish all God has called you to do. Only time will tell how the gift of your presidency has changed the course of history in this perilous season. God bless you President Trump. We love you and are praying for you.”

ABC Axes ‘Roseanne’ Over Racist Tweet yet ‘The View’ Is Still On Despite Anti Christian Rhetoric

ABC Axes Roseanne Barr Over Racist Tweet yet Joy Behar is Still On Air Despite Likening Prayer to Mental Illness

ABC has been accused of hypocrisy for cancelling comedian, Roseanne Barr’s show after she made a racist joke on Twitter, while keeping The View on air despite the shocking things it’s co-host Joy Behar has said about Christianity.

Although the ‘Roseanne’ remake was a huge hit with over 21 million viewers the series was axed after it’s leading actress made a huge error of judgement off air. She compared one of Barack Obama’s top advisers, Valerie Jarrett to an animal with Islamic connections. “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = vj,” she tweeted.

While this tweet is highly offensive, this is the kind of bad taste ‘joke’ one could expect from a foul-mouthed comedian. To be funny in today’s warped world of entertainment it seems you are expected to insult and demean others, but you still need to stay politically correct.

In a similar incident, related to ABC, Joy Behar insulted US Vice President Mike Pence on air, suggesting his religious views made him mentally ill. “It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices,” she said.

Mental health is a huge area of concern today and describing the everyday act of prayer, which is practised by millions of Christians, a mental health issue is also highly offensive.

Both women offered their sincere apologies, one immediately, while the other took weeks to do so. One was fired on the spot and the other continues to be on TV. It’s not hard to see why ABC is being accused of hypocrisy. It’s not ok to make racist comments nor is it ok to joke about mental health or demean someone’s religion.

“The mainstream media need to understand the importance of faith, put hypocrisy aside and treat Christians with respect.”

In a country where freedom of speech is celebrated it seems incredible that a person can be fired for one tweet or inappropriate comment, especially if they have apologised. ABC is entitled to act as they see fit, however, they should act consistently and with the same force with regard to racist jokes as to inappropriate comments about mental health or faith. From a Christian perspective, we who are called to be peacemakers should challenge all parties to walk in forgiveness.

We can commend Valerie Jarrett’s response to the debacle: “I think we have to turn it into a teaching moment. I’m fine,” she said. “I’m worried about all the people out there who don’t have a circle of friends who come right to their defence… and those ordinary examples of racism that happen every single day.”

We can also comment the Vice President’s response: While pointing out that the mainstream media are out of touch with the faith and values of the American people, he chose to forgive. “One of the things my faith teaches me is grace; forgive as you’ve been forgiven.”

It’s unfortunate that America remains a divided country and it seems Roseanne ended up on the wrong side of the political landscape for ABC. It’s time for Americans to unite, across the political divide and to start respecting each other again and especially the nation’s leaders.

Hopefully Roseanne has learnt a valuable lesson from this, but so have we. To be careful what we say even on Twitter. 280 characters can end your career in an instant. Let’s hope Joy will think twice before berating Christians or people with mental health issues. Other religions would not tolerate such abuse and neither should we, but unlike other religions we will respond with God’s love, His grace and His forgiveness.

ABC and the mainstream media need to start understanding the importance of the faith and values of the American people, put hypocrisy aside and treat Christians with respect.

10 Reasons We Support Trump’s Recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli Capital

In December 2017, US President Donald Trump recognized what has been a reality for decades: Jerusalem is the Israeli capital. On 14 May 2018 we celebrated the opening of the American Embassy in Jerusalem, which is an historic breakthrough.

“Jerusalem is the seat of the modern Israeli government today,” the US President said. “It is the home of the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, as well as the Israeli Supreme Court. It is the location of the official residence of the prime minister and the president and it is the headquarters of many government ministries. Today we finally acknowledge the obvious, that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. This is nothing more or less than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do.”

News reports vary from excitement to incitement. Some claim it is prophetic, while others say it will destroy the peace process. These ten points that will hopefully help you process this. They focus on current events and biblical prophecy.

Jerusalem – Israeli Capital

  1. Many people say that there is no need to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. Would it matter to you if virtually every nation refused to recognize Washington DC as the US Capital?  If instead, they chose LA, Detroit or Chicago?
  2. Turkey is saying that recognizing Jerusalem is a “red line” and that it will cut off ties with Israel. If they had any real courage they would cut off ties with the USA, as it is a US action. Israel has claimed since January 23, 1950 that Jerusalem is the Israeli capital.
  3. Hamas and other terror groups are saying Trump’s actions on Jerusalem are an atrocity. They are calling for a new intifada. Meanwhile, they’ve had nothing to say about Assad using chemical weapons, ISIS murdering Muslims and Christians. They forget 500,000 people are dead in Syria, 10 million refugees, the treatment of women in the Arab world, etc. There are real atrocities to be angry about—this is not one of them.
  4. God predicted (or foreknew) thousands of years ago that the time Old City of Jerusalem would be the most controversial city in the world. Psalm 2 speaks of the nations raging against God over Jerusalem, saying “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”
  5. Zech. 12:2-3 speaks of the nations suffering judgment for standing against Israel in the end-times: “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling… On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.” (The passage speaks of a specific war, where God will give Jerusalem victory, but the principle is the same: Be careful nations who mess with Jerusalem)
  6.  For all the outrage, people seem to forget that Jerusalem has hardly been important to the Arab world. It has never the been the capital of any Arab nation. It was only when the Jews began to return to Israel that this counterfeit zeal for Jerusalem was birthed in the Arab world. The Islamic Ottomans controlled Jerusalem for 400 years and let it become desolate.
  7. On the other hand, God chose Jerusalem to be the place were His house would be built (1 Chronicles 28) and it has been the capital of the Hebrew nation since King David, more than 3,000 years ago. Jerusalem (or Zion) is mentioned nearly 1,000 times in the Old Testament and ZERO times in the Quran.
  8. The entire New Testament centers around Israel, and Yeshua’s finals days—his death, resurrection and birth of the early congregation—were in Jerusalem. Mohamed never visited Jerusalem; there is only a vague mention of a one-time night visit in a dream to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, which Muslims claim is Jerusalem. You will not find anything close to this in the Quran: “How can we sing the songs of the Lord while in a foreign land? If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill. May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth, if I do not remember you, if I do not consider Jerusalem, my highest joy.”  (Psalm 137:5-6).
  9. The Arab League leader said a US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is an “unjustified provocation” for Arabs. See point #3. There are so many atrocities in the Arab world and you do nothing, but this (and cartoons) is a provocation!? Really?
  10. I have heard from leftwing congressmen and congresswomen and world leaders that this will significantly hurt the peace process. WHAT PEACE PROCESS!?!? The Palestinians are forming a unity government with Hamas terrorists. They will not recognize Israel as a Jewish state and continue to teach their children to hate Jews. They name city squares, streets and schools after terrorists who blew up innocent Jewish women and children. You can’t damage something that doesn’t exist. There is no peace process.

In conclusion, if you find the news reports and reactions from around the world alarming, take heart. We are closer than we were before. Our redemption is drawing close.
