Encouragement

In the midst of the busyness and distractions of this world, I encourage you to set your minds on things above, as Paul exhorted the Colossians in Colossians 3:1-4. Let this be a reminder to fix your gaze upon the eternal and set your thoughts on heavenly matters.

Set your mind on the promises of God, for they are unchanging and true. Meditate on His faithfulness, His goodness, and His unfailing love. Let your mind be filled with thoughts of His grace and mercy that are new every morning. As you intentionally redirect your thoughts towards God, you will experience a greater sense of peace and joy, knowing that your hope is anchored in Him.

Meditate on the character of Christ, for He is the ultimate example of love, compassion, and righteousness. Reflect on His teachings and the way He lived His life. As you align your thoughts with His, you will begin to see transformation in your own character. Allow His values and virtues to shape your attitudes, decisions, and interactions with others. Let the mind of Christ dwell in you, guiding you to walk in love and humility.

Set your mind on the eternal perspective, for this world is temporary, but the kingdom of God is everlasting. Remember that your true citizenship is in heaven, and your ultimate destination is in the presence of God. As you fix your thoughts on eternity, the challenges and trials of this life will lose their power to overwhelm you. You will gain a renewed perspective that empowers you to endure with hope and perseverance.

Set your minds on things above, and let the abundant life that Christ offers fill your hearts and minds with His peace and joy.

Renew Your Mind

Unto the Lord be all glory and power and blessing. He is the One who calls you and appoints you and will see you through to the end. He is the Father of all and His mercy and grace surround you. Many are the structures in your mind that restricts you. Now is the time to let them all go. These structures cause you to be imprisoned in a state of apprehension as fear keeps them immovable. Now you can bring them down as His love invades your space. When you surrender all to Him then He moves in to dismantle these structures of your mind. He will then infuse you with His love. His love will remove these structures and replace them with His presence. His presence is all you need for in Him you don’t need structures. The structure is only required for your ego to feel safe. Once you have released self-control to His control then you become a free agent of His love. Man not dependent on God is an enemy to himself without knowing it. You become unconscious of the processes of your mind. Your mind then dictates your moods and thoughts and usurps your will. Your will then determines the outcome of your life. This sometimes ends in tragedy. A mind controlled by the ego is susceptible to despair for it gets tired of itself. All it does is go around in circles over the same old things that occupy the mind. The mind cannot sit still, for sitting still is like death. It will deny death by remaining active and deluding itself through such activity. So life becomes a merry-go-round till it wastes itself and dies.

Strategy

The Lord is over all and in His presence is peace everlasting. The mind will always doubt but the spirit will move out in faith. So don’t be distracted by your mind that will provide excuses. Once you are able to disconnect with your mind then you will find it easier to operate in the spirit. For most people, their problem is with their mind. Their mind will bring up all kinds of issues to distract you from operating from presence. Presence is the silence behind the mind. The mind wants to control but it needs the form of thought to control. Thoughts are a distraction for they come from different sources. In the spirit, you come into His presence, and in His presence, you are not controlled by your thoughts but by His thoughts. Your mind will resist His thoughts but He is in control and therefore He will always win.

Spirit Control

Subjection to His Spirit in you will enable you to overcome mind control. Once people realise this then they will want to be in His presence at all times. This is the only way to overcome the mind. Others will try to control you, using their mind power but you will not be controlled by them when you respond from your spirit man. Many fall into the hands of others because their minds give in to them. In the Spirit, you can be in command and overcome all situations. This is the spiritual war and only can be overcome through His Spirit.

God’s Word Today – Healing is Your Portion

Healing is your portion and will lead you into a deeper intimacy with God. He desires you whole, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

You have the privilege of experiencing the restorative power of God’s healing touch in your life. It is a journey that asks you to press into faith to see your physical body healed, the renewal of your mind, and the healing of your spirit.

The Scriptures reveal God as your Healer, offering hope and restoration to all who seek Him. Exodus 15:26, it says, “I am the Lord who heals you.” These words spoken by the Lord to His people remind you that healing is not just a distant possibility, but a promise from a loving and compassionate God. His desire is to bring wholeness to every aspect of your being, addressing not only your physical ailments but also the deep wounds that affect your heart and mind.

Physical Healing

Physical healing is one aspect of God’s restorative work. We witness numerous accounts of Jesus healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, and life to the dead. The Gospels are filled with stories of miraculous healings that demonstrate God’s power to intervene in your physical afflictions. While you may not always understand why healing does not manifest in every circumstance, you can trust that God’s ways are higher than yours, and His plans are ultimately for your good.

Emotional Healing

Yet, healing goes beyond the physical realm. It encompasses the restoration of your mind and emotion. In Psalm 147:3, you can find solace in the words, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Your emotional scars, traumas, and hurts are not hidden from God. He sees your pain, and He stands ready to bring healing and restoration to your wounded heart. Through prayer, counseling, and the support of a loving community, you can experience the transformative power of God’s healing touch.

Spiritual Healing

In addition to physical and emotional healing, God desires to bring spiritual healing to your life. Sin and its consequences have left you spiritually broken and separated from God. However, through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, you can find redemption and reconciliation with our Heavenly Father. Isaiah 53:5, prophesied, “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds, we are healed.” Through faith in Jesus, you are offered forgiveness, healing, and the opportunity to walk in newfound freedom.

Therefore, embrace the transformative power of God’s healing in your life. Whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, seek His touch, trusting that His ways are perfect and His love for you never-ending.

Transformed Into The Likeness Of Jesus

The Bible states that we need to be transformed by the renewal of our mind. How does this transformation take place? We need to first be renewed in our spirt before this can happen. Our spirit needs to be born again which happens when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. We were dead in our sins and therefore did not have the ability to commune with God who is spirit. To be able to commune with God we need to be born of the spirit. We were born in the flesh in our first birth but still dead in the spirit because we were born in sin. Sin cut us out from communion with God although we were created by God. He had to breathe His Spirit into us to come alive. This born again experience is the only way we can have eternal life.

Relationship

Once we have come into the knowledge of His salvation we now are in a position to have a relationship with Him. Most are satisfied with the born again experience but fail to move on in the Spirit. No transformation takes place. Their spirit is born again but their flesh is not. Our flesh needs to be transformed through the renewal of our mind. This renewal is a process. Our spirit mind gets renewed by the Holy Spirit who comes to dwell within us.

Before we were born again the Spirit of God was working outside us. Through the born again experience the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in our spirit. We now need to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and fire to be transformed into His likeness. This is the process of sanctification. Our flesh man needs to die daily so the spirit man can come alive in leaps and bounds. This transformation is like the transfiguration that took place when Jesus was with His three disciples. The disciples saw this but failed to understand what took place.

Transformation

This transformation can lead us to be so separate from our flesh that we feel as if we have been transfigured. We now are totally immersed in the Holy Spirit and He directs our flesh. This is the state that Enoch was in. He was so transformed that He walked away into the other realm without facing death in the flesh. Is this possible for us? Nothing is impossible with God. Smith Wigglesworth reports that he was so transformed that none of the diseases could affect him. We can be so transformed that our flesh is affected and redeemed by the power of God. I yearn to be transformed to be like Jesus on earth. Do you?

The Battles In Our Mind Disappear In His Presence

Our mind is the centre of our operations. We think through situations and problems and come to a solution. We are not animals that just react by their senses. We sense and then process it and decide if it is good or bad. Most of the time we decide to do the right thing. However many times we choose to do the wrong thing. This is what Paul describes in Romans 7 where he wants to do the right but ends up choosing the wrong. His solution was to move to the anointing in Romans 8. In Christ there is no condemnation and the case is closed. We are now free to choose what is right and to do it. However many still operate in Romans 7 and continue to battle in their minds.

Escape

God has provided a way of escape. In His presence there is peace and joy. None of the mind battles appear to matter any more. They disappear in His presence. The way into His presence is to meditate on His word and pray in the Holy Spirit. His word enters our mind and dispels all conflict and addictions of the mind. Many are held captive by obsessive thoughts that control them and there appears to be no way of escape. Demonic infiltration further compounds the problem. The devil plays games in our mind and we believe him rather than the word of God. God says that He has not given us a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind.

Partnership

We have now to partner with the Holy Spirit and walk in obedience to His word. His word divides between soul and spirit. His word is the sword of the spirit that is able to deliver us from our battles. His word is power and the word of His power will obliterate every attack of the enemy. The enemy will make you feel guilty and make you own his thoughts. He sows thoughts into your mind and then makes you own it. We need to discern the enemy’s tactics and not give in to him. We need to distance those negative thoughts and delete them from our mind. The Holy Spirit will provide the strategy required to do this. I find it helpful to distance myself from anything or person that will take the place of Jesus in my mind. My only attachment should be with Jesus. This is what will cause the separation from the world and all that will come against us.

Transformation Is The Only Way To Be Like Jesus

The Bible states that we should be transformed by the renewal of our minds. Our mind is part of our soul or psyche. Our mind has been trained by the world to think and perceive in worldly ways. This worldly mind needs transformation to think like Jesus. The word of God and Jesus are the same. So when we read and understand His word we get transformed. God’s word is living and powerful to separate our spirit from our soul. It is able to discern good from evil. What is seen outwardly could be a copy of the real. To discern the spirit behind the cover requires spiritual insight. Many are deceived by the external rites and rituals of religion. Religion has deceived many to believe the lie rather than the truth.

Mind Transformation

Mind transformation is the only way to become heavenly minded. This is the key to walking in victory on earth. However there is a cost. Truth will always be challenged by lies. When you stand for truth you will face opposition. This is good for this is a sign that you are standing against the powers of darkness. Many suffer for standing for the truth. In this world that revolves around lies, truth is a rare concept. We have become so used to lies that it has become part of our persona. Some people get away by saying it is white lies or being social and nice. Jesus confronted the Pharisees of His day by calling them white washed sepulchres!

Truth

Truth is essential in these days to stand against the forces of evil and for transformation. Evil has penetrated our psyche that we believe it. We need transformation of our minds. Jesus is the truth and His word is the truth. When we believe this we receive transformation into His image. His image is the original personality of creation. When we talk and walk like Jesus we become His light bearers in a dark world. We need to walk in revelational knowledge. This is knowledge we receive through the Spirit from heaven. This is our daily manna to keep us walking in the light. The light of His presence enfolds us and keeps us from all harm and danger. Let us be transformed and be the source of hope in this fallen world.

What Does It Mean To Have The Mind Of Christ?

Mind is to do with our thought life. We think through our mind. We feel through our emotions. Our thinking is limited by our physical senses. We perceive things through our physical senses. We sense pain and our mind interprets this pain as a danger sign. We smell fragrance and our mind interprets this as sweet smelling and refreshing. Our mind is the place where we process what we see and hear. A sound is perceived differently depending on how well our hearing is. This can give rise to distortions. A half empty glass can be seen as a half filled glass. We hear of opinions expressed though the media and our filters decide on what is right and wrong. All this happens in our mind. Therefore our actions result from how we perceive things. Our mind however is limited. We believe one story till we hear the other version of the same event.

Spirit Mind

To have the mind of Christ is to think like He does. His revealed word in the Bible gives us the framework of His mind. We begin to process things through the filter of His word. What would Jesus do is a common question we can ask. His Spirit in us will enlighten us if we ask Him. The Spirit and the word work together to enable us to have the mind of Christ. Without His word we don’t have a framework to understand the things of the Spirit. His word has many layers of meaning. His Spirit opens our eyes to see the truth. Once we were blind now we see when we perceived the truth. Mind blindness is real. This is why we need the Spirit to see and do like Christ. In the Spirit there are no limits.

Mind Of Christ

My spirit mind is able to comprehend things that are limited by my earthly mind. This is how what was impossible became possible. People are raised from the dead. Someone had faith to believe and spoke the now word which raised the dead. The same way healing is possible as we speak His word of healing over our bodies and minds. To have the mind of Christ is to be able to see and do as He did on earth. This is astounding that we have this ability to see and do as He did. Let us pursue to live by the Spirit and imitate Christ in this. Living in the mind of Christ makes us one with Him.

Let’s Be Who We Are Called To Be

Jesus has come to reside in each of us when we came to Him and were saved. His Holy Spirit was sent to reside in us. Before Jesus ascended to Heaven He promised that He would send a Comforter. The Comforter came on the day of Pentecost and filled the disciples. He came and dwelt in them. Now we too can enjoy His fellowship as He resides in us. What a revelation and a revolution this is! Jesus came to make us like Him. To see and do as He did on earth. He saw and did as He saw what His Father did. We too are called to do the same. Only through His Spirit within us can we do this.

Mind Of Christ

Now we have the mind of Christ. What does this mean? We have the Holy Spirit in us and so He can think through us. When we allow Him to think through us then we will have His thoughts flowing through us. We then speak His thoughts out and His words go out to perform what it is sent to do. This is to have the mind of Christ. When we walk in the fullness of the Spirit we become like Jesus in our walk and talk. We are but a receptacle for His Spirit. We have died to our self and become a living sacrifice. We have laid our life on the altar and we now become His vessel of glory.

Transformation

This is the transformation we go through as we choose to walk daily in His ways. We can only do so as the Spirit leads. We are not our own. We have been purchased by the blood of Jesus. We have a new identity and authority in Him. Jesus spoke and formed the world’s. We too can speak in the same authority and see our world changed for good. No devil can stand in our way. He has to give way to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This is the Good News the world has to hear as the sons of God are revealed. Today let us take our place and be who we are called to be.

Seeing But Not Understanding

Mind blindness is real. Many times in conversation we cannot progress because the other person fails to understand us. This is a form of mind blindness. They appear to see and hear yet they fail to comprehend. Why is this so? This is so because their mind is blocked from seeing. How does this block occur? This occurs when people are fixed in their thoughts about a certain subject or person and can’t see beyond their own thoughts. How sad a state this is! Blockages can occur due to different reasons. It could be that the person just fails to understand. They are unable to process the information in a way that they can understand.

Parables

Jesus spoke in parables. The disciples could not understand and so Jesus had to explain the parable using literal language. Many times we don’t see what the scripture we read is saying. We get confused by the language and metaphors used. The writer has written the text in the context of the culture of his time. We use a western lens to understand scripture and fail to see. Our western images of eastern culture fail to get across the real meaning of what was written. So Jesus had to explain this in simple terms but they still failed to understand. To this day the Jews fail to see Jesus as the Messiah. Their spiritual eyes are blind. Yet some have seen and understand.

Understanding

We need the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to understand. We can have a lot of information but without understanding we fail to see. We hear that seeing is believing like Thomas claimed. Yet Jesus said we must believe to see. Is this a contradiction. Faith believes even when it does not see. Faith than is able to see into the supernatural and bring it into the natural. The feeding of the five thousand is an example of how faith multiplied the loaf and fishes. God wants us to see with our spiritual eyes so we can understand His ways and be transformed.

Our Mind Is The Major Hindrance From Receiving Our Inheritance

Our mind is the central processing centre for all our thoughts. Our thoughts determine how we feel. When our mind is in control then we will feel in charge. However this also means that we are in control. This is the fallen state of man. Man wanted to be like God and so fell in his pursuit. God desires that He be God and no one else should overrule Him. He created us for a purpose and He wants to bless us. He is a good God. However we think we know better and question our Creator. This process of wanting to think like God is the reason we get into difficulties. In a fallen world we will never be able to think like God.

God

God has made us a way of escape from this dilemma. He sent Jesus to free us from this life of law and death. He gives us eternal life. Our life here is limited and so is all things created. We see this daily in our lives where all that we own decays and dies. Our possessions have a finite life and one day will rot and decay. We have to service our equipment to keep it running. God has promised us eternal life. This life never ends and is always fresh. It is as if we never grow old. He has promised us riches from heaven like manna from heaven. Yet we rather eat from the crumbs under the table.

Spirit

Our mind is so self centred that it cannot see the larger picture. Even if we do, it is rather limited. God is above our physical realm. He is Spirit. We were created as spirit beings and therefore have the ability to commune with Him. The spirit world is the real world. The physical world is just a copy of the real. When we tap into the real we become alive. The Spirit leads us into a abundant life here and now. Why be satisfied for the copy when the real is available to us? Come now to the river of life and be filled with abundant life.
