A 21-month-old little girl from Kentucky that suffered from Neuroblastoma is now a declared cancer survivor!
Molly Hughes was only 4-months-old when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. She then underwent an excruciating 15 months of cancer treatment and chemotherapy.
Neuroblastoma
Neuroblastoma (NB) is a type of cancer that forms in certain types of nerve tissue. In Molly’s case, she suffered cancer on her adrenal glands above the kidney. This is the most common cancer in children younger than one to two years old and has 40% – 95% chance of survival.
The young little girl had to spend 130 days in hospital and underwent many rounds of intense treatments, chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.
After going through more than a year of cancer treatment and five rounds of chemotherapy, Molly can now enjoy her childhood free from pain and cancer.
“I kinda just fell to the ground after I got off the phone and I just hugged for her like five minutes,” Chelsea Hughes, Molly’s mom, stated.
#Mollystrong
During Molly’s battle, her family and friends created a hashtag, “#Mollystrong” that served as their slogan of hope. In no time it gained a lot of support and prayers for Molly.
Molly’s family believes that Molly was totally healed because of all the prayers.
“She would just bounce back after every treatment. I mean it would knock her down for few days and then she would be playing again… I believe that’s what’s helped her get through is all the prayers she’s had and we just can’t thank everybody enough for praying for her and supporting us through all of this.” Chelsea said.
Share this lovely little girl’s testimony to give hope to all those who are suffering cancer right now.
