Prominent Christian leaders have been responding to rapper Lil Nas X’s “Satan Shoes” that were released on Holy Monday.

Distinguished Christian and conservative leaders expressed their concern after Lil Nas X announced his newly released shoes.
The shoes are a modified Nike Air Max 97s decorated with a pentagram pendant and a “Luke 10:18” text. It also said that the shoes’ sole is painted with red ink that includes a drop of human blood. The blood was drawn from members of the MSCHF.
“And he said to them, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.’” – Luke 10:18

A total of 666 pairs, a number that symbolizes the devil, were released for sale at $1,018 per pair. Nike later released a statement that they are not affiliated with the product. They even filed a lawsuit against MSCHF.
“We do not have a relationship with Little Nas X or MSCHF,” Nike said in a statement, NBC News reports. “Nike did not design or release these shoes and we do not endorse them.”
Alongside the release of the shoes is the release of Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Name)” music video.
Christian leaders
Both the shoes and the music video sparked huge controvery and have drawn criticism from Christian and conservative leaders. Samaritan’s Purse head Franklin Graham called the shoes a “dangerous marketing endeavor” on his Facebook post on Sunday.
“This is a dangerous marketing endeavor if you ask me… The morals in this country have fallen so fast, and many times the entertainment industry is leading the way,” Franklin Graham wrote.
Pastor Mark Burns urged Christians to stand against this kind of evil.
“These #SatanShoes by #Nike & #LilNasX with 666 and a drop of human blood in the sole is a reason why we Christians must be prayed up ready to battle in the spirit with the Voice of the Holy Spirit,” he contended. “This is evil & heresy and I pray that Christians rise up against this.”
Author and evangelist Alex McFarland and Governor Kristi Noem also expressed their disgust with the product.
As Christians, may we all continue to fight against the schemes of the enemy and pray for this generation.
