The mystery of the resurrection is explained.
Mystery of the Resurrection
Dr. Michael Brown and Bob Gladstone explain the mystery of the resurrection. They referenced the book of Corinthians to reveal the meaning of what Paul referred to as the mystery of the resurrection. It’s a mystery that God wants us to know and understand.
“Paul says, ‘Behold, I show you a mystery.’ He’s not hiding it, He’s not burying it, He’s saying I want you to see and understand,” Dr. Brown said.
Bob then proceeded to explain why Paul said those words and what he meant about them. It’s a mystery because it’s something that is yet to be revealed to the human heart. Paul said those words to encourage the Corinthians church that they’ll be with the Lord forever.
“He’s speaking to the Corinthian church that needed some motivation, that’s what that chapter is about. Some were denying the resurrection and they needed the motivation to live the Christian life. So, Paul says, ‘You’re coming alive from the dead, you’ll forever be with the Lord.’ That’s a mystery, it’s not just a theological fact. It’s a mystery that the theological fact has to be revealed to the human heart,” Bob said.
As a Christian who works for the Kingdom of God, you have to always think about the eternal life that awaits you for you to be motivated. After this journey we have here on earth, there’s an eternity that is waiting for us. An eternal life with the Lord.
“You have to have a vision of the resurrection future to motivate you Christian work now… You’ve got to know the resurrection in your heart if you’re going to be motivated properly here and now. That’s why it’s a mystery because when it’s revealed to our heart, it gives us that emotional energy to serve the Lord.”
