More biblical artifacts were unearthed in an ancient city in Samaria called Shiloh, archaeologists say the Bible is no mythology.
Shiloh was the place where the Bible says Joshua divided the promise land between the 12 tribes. It was mentioned in the books of Joshua, Judges, 1 Samuel, 1 Kings, Psalms, and Jeremiah in the Old Testament. It’s also the place where the tabernacle of the LORD stood for more than 300 years. That is why it’s considered to be a sacred spot as well as the first ancient capital of Israel.

Archaeologists Dig Up The Bible
The Director of Shiloh Excavations, Scott Stripling, along with dozens of student volunteers archaeologists are digging into history.

“We’re dealing with real people, real places, real events. This is not mythology,” Scott Stripling pointed out.

“The points that we excavated today we’re talking about points of.. Pontius Pilate, Festus, Felix, Agrippa I, Agrippa II, the bible talks about these people. We’ve got the image right there,” he said.
Furthermore, they unearthed a fortified wall built by the Canaanites. These archeologists found treasures of Biblical artifacts as well.
“It’s tiring and exhausting but it’s really rewarding. It’s exciting to find ancient things that have been laying in the dirt just waiting for us for thousands of years,” said Abigail Leavitt, a student of University of Pikeville.
“I read the Bible totally different than I did before I came here,” she added. “When I read the Bible, I know the places. I know what’s going on. I understand it more deeply.”
Bible Matches Artifacts
More so, she stressed out how previous archaeologists have claimed that archaeology disproves the Bible. And she remarked, “But when we dig here, we find that everything matches! You read it in the Bible, you did it in the dirt and there it is.”
Faith Lesson
Also, they “dig into the past and find lessons for the present.” So Director Scott shared one faith lesson:
“One of the faith lessons for us is that God is the Potter and we are the clay. And even if our lives are broken, like these vessels are, God told Jeremiah after He told him to go to Shiloh and see what He had done, He told him to go to the Potter’s house and look at a flawed vessel. And see how the Potter puts it back on the wheel and works out the imperfections.”
“Yes, we’re imperfect. But if we’ll allow God, He wants to put us on His potter’s wheel. He wants to make us a vessel of honor,” he explained.
