I’ll never forget the first time I felt the nudge of Holy Spirit. I was around 8 years old and sitting in a small church with my family. The pastor was closing his sermon and offering an altar call for anyone who wanted to give their life to Jesus. I didn’t know what it meant, but I knew I wanted this person who He was preaching about. I felt my throat get tight and cheeks flush warm. Something important was happening to me.
The nudge of Holy Spirit in your life
Have you had any moments like this? At the time, I didn’t realize God was speaking to me. But looking back, I can see God was calling to himself through the Holy Spirit.
God uses our bodies to speak to us
Have you ever been overcome with the knowledge that you must do something? Often our bodies give us cues that God is speaking to us. That elevated heart rate, sudden sweat, or random urge to talk to someone may not be so random after all. In college, I often experienced God’s nudge to talk to people I didn’t know well. I would get a tight throat or maybe sweaty palms. Holy spirit’s nudge led me to love those around me. Often, I knew if I felt fear to respond, it was significant I do. Over the years, I’ve found that fear to be an encouragement. I consider it my nervous system’s divine design letting me know the moment I am in matters.
How does God move through your body? Maybe you feel immense peace. Alternatively, maybe you know the nudge of holy spirit through images in your mind or specific words or phrases.
The enemy knows we have the opportunity to walk powerfully with Holy Spirit. Notice how God interacts with your body, and be encouraged, knowing you were wonderfully designed for God to speak to.
