Accounts across the world show that the home quarantine during the global pandemic led more people to turn to Jesus Christ.
Home Quarantine
As the coronavirus hit millions of people across the world, each national government implemented measures to help stop the spread of the contagious disease. One of the common measurements is the implementation of home quarantine where people are asked to stay at their homes.
Because of this and also the restriction of public gatherings, churches across the globe went online for their worship services. And as a result, millions of unbelievers had access to the Gospel which led them to turn to Jesus Christ.
Online Church service
In Harvest Christian Fellowship in Southern California, they saw over a million people watch their online service. They also saw 31,000 unbelievers accept Jesus Christ in their lives in just a month!
“I think, especially with the spread of COVID-19, you might read of yet another person dying. That’s really scary and it’s a wake-up call for all of us,” Greg Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, said. “But we want to show the Good News to people—that God can give them the meaning of life on earth and the hope of life beyond the grave.”
“The Gospel cannot be locked”
A member of the Sikh family in Punjab, India also prayed to accept Christ while they were observing home quarantine.
“We have been locked inside our homes, but the Gospel cannot be locked,” Pastor Bachitter Singh said as he witnessed the transformation of the former Sikh family.
A former drug dealer and his father accepted Jesus Christ after watching the online church service of Connecting Columbia Church. In a small town in north-central California in Columbia which is ravaged by broken homes and broken lives comes a story of hope.
“One of the things that I think this is telling me” Connecting Columbia Church pastor Mike Redinger said. “Is we’ve got to get our church-going in that direction. And ready for the harvest field that God’s preparing right now.”
Hope amidst pandemic
God is showing us hope amidst the difficult time that we are facing. During this moment, the church is called to spread the hope of Jesus Christ to everyone.
“Throw the net,” Pastor Greg Laurie said. “No matter what you’re speaking on, make sure you think of nonbelievers who are watching you. Who are looking for answers, and just tell them how to believe in Jesus.”
