A 5-year-old preacher appeared on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” and blessed the audience with his charisma and love for God. He sang with Jennifer, “Take me to the water,” the song he sang in the viral video of baptizing his toys.
Jennifer Hudson invited Luke Tillman to her show. She was pretty curious to meet in person the young preacher who went viral. And her expectations did not fail.
“How are you,” she asked. “Oh, it’s a blessing,” Luke answered. His intelligent and confident reply received cheers from the audience.
The 5-year-old wants to follow in the footsteps of his dad, a pastor.
The inspiration to baptize others, well, in Luke’s case, to baptize his stuffed toys, was also from his dad. Luke shared, “I got it from my father; he baptized me. I asked him, and he said, ‘I’ll baptize you the next Sunday.'”
However, it took many Sundays until Luke was baptized. He asked his dad when he was still two years old but was already four years old when his dad baptized him.
Luke added, “When I grow up, I’m gonna be a pastor and a Christian.”
“It’s a blessing,” Luke’s father said when asked about his son’s desire to be like him. “You know, the pressure is always on PKs (pastor’s kid), and the whole development of him desiring to want to do it – and authentically wanting to do it, is a blessing.”
Take me to the water
At the show’s end, Jennifer requested young Luke to sing “Take me to the water,” and they sang along with him.
“You have lifted us all up,” Jennifer told Luke. “You have an amazing calling in your life. So, you keep doing what you’re doing, okay? And walking to God’s will. Will you do that?”
“Uh-huh. I’m never forgetting about God, amen!” Luke declared.
